You're definitely right about Fry's brain. I am definitely making an assumption that the scanner that the professor uses detects the Delta brain wave, as it's the most common in all living creatures, and some robots lol. And those we my thoughts exactly when I saw Slurms, I was just glad to see him lol

I always think it'll be funny that the poor quality of the All My Circuits episodes that Leela and Bender made are what got him out of that trance that would've killed him otherwise.

The emotional episodes of Comedy Central era were pure gold though. The humorous ones... not so much.

Finding out about all the different takes on Futurama has been fascinating. I am genuinely interested in your take on Cold Warriors and Game of Tones, specifically because I just made a video last week about why I think those episodes lack substance and episodes like Luck of the Fryrish work.

@@bennett420 I'm on a binge-rewatch, have just finished "The late Philipp J Fry" which is honestly a masterpiece. I still remember the Comedy Central episode about Fry remembering his mom and saying goodbye to her. While it was very emotional and beautiful, in the first seasons it was clearly shown she didn't care about him. As for Lethal inspection - yes, Hermes acted out of character, but so did other characters throughout the show. I've just binge-watched the first 5 seasons and the movies, and characters often acted out of character just for the same of a joke, being unnecessary cruel. For example nobody had a problem with Bender approaching a can opener knowing full well it'll most likely kill him, because it almost killed him last time. Bender also acted dumb and didn't mind going for it. The show is really not that consistent, despite the writers being really smart. So I'd much rather see a character act better than they did before than act like an absolute jerk(unless it's Bender) for a cheap , 5-second long joke.

@TabalugaDragon Definitely agree that Late Phillip J Fry is pretty much perfect. Game of Tones is the episode with his mom. I find it very out of character and feels like they're relying on the idea that saying goodbye to your mom is inherently emotional. As for lethal inspection, I see what you mean. I only showed the one example, but Hermes being a heartless bureaucrat is a pretty frequent concept. Almost fires everyone into the sun in Farnsworth Parabox, doesn't care that one Australian dude is now expected to do all the manual labor at a day spa labor camp, is very excited when he gets to fire people and is downright abusive to Zoidberg. I'm all for character development, but I think it's important to own it. I've also been told I'm a heartless robot, so maybe the emotional episodes don't tug at my heart strings enough lmao

You're definitely right about that. I was just having a bit of fun because I noticed that "Hulu" has been featured in other animated programs when it's shown in a good light, but when Futurama took shots at it it was "Fulu" lol

Yeah, and I think that's ultimately what they were doing, but they do have the B in Box flash to the F quite a few times. The point was more about Hulu appearing by name in it's other original programming.

I can see where you're coming from, but it's kind of been that way since the CC run started establishing specific years in episodes. I don't think they were doing that back in the Fox run.

I'm more bothered by the fact that 10 years passed while time was frozen. Kif and Amy's kids grew up, but everyone else in the universe was frozen in place for 10 years? I know the lack of explanation is the joke, but it still bothers me lol.
