The evolution of the Doctor Who DVD covers from 2000's Robots of Death, to 2020's Fury from the Deep. Only covers from the main range of DVDs are represented here.
I apologise for the covers that are in really low quality. Although I tried to find the highest quality for each one, I couldn't find high quality images for some.

I'd say that it was with The Tomb of the Cybermen that we started getting good Classic Who DVD covers but The Leisure Hive was the true turning point.

Terror of the Zygons released in 2013? So it took 13 years for the BBC to release all the "full" stories they had in their archives (at the time).

And Terror of the Zygons is a popular one so I would have thought they'd have released it sooner. And leave something like the Krotons to the very end

@@blobfish5730 They probably wanted to go out with a bang, hence the fancy firey cover, although I did hear that this DVD release was held back so they could restore and colourize a deleted scene for a "directors cut" of Part One.

@@blobfish5730 Late reply, but I read that was done deliberately. When they were releasing the stories as VHS, they did all the popular ones first, and sales dropped massively near the end when all the duller stories released. They wanted to avoid that for the DVD releases, so kept this one near the end.

I think it had a pre-release sort of thing, as I believe it was first released on the Fourth Doctors Time Capsule

I didn't notice until a couple of months ago that the early DVDs match the other BBC shows on DVD

the whole JTR thing is funny, because Abberline even said himself that the only reason they 'didn't catch him' was because they didn't want to start anti-Jew riots and the guy was a Jew. Now forget the Jew part, that means they (according to Abberline) knew who he was. Tbh, that only makes sense considering the ridiculousness of finding a guy hiding in the bushes outside of Mary Jane Kelly's apartment mere hours after her drawn out mutilation, oh and stuff like that one cop saying he saw a guy "huffing and puffing" in a rush from the direction of kill 1 in the direction of kill 2 on the double murder night. The fact that it is still a "mystery" is imo, totally forced by those who knew and quite probably those who know. It's one of the most ridiculous situations ever and when we've even gone through the trouble of DNA tests despite all of the above it does seem just a bit comedic. Anyway, unwarranted paragraph aside - I agree that is bloody weird about the seeds of death.

2004 - 2013 are great. The early ones are just rubbish pictures. I used to spend a long time gazing at these covers, imagining the wonders of the story within.
