It has some brutal animations but it's easily the worst combat in the series. AC1 has better combat.

I finally mastered it, anyways 1 small tip if a guard is aiming at you and the officers/seekers does the 3 hit combo dodge the last hit since that's when the enemy will shoot

"really good" is not the phrase I would use to describe Unity's combat

It was very grounded it felt so realistic that it was too realistic, I like feeling like a badass and just being able to take down everyone with relative ease like AC3 but I love everything else about the game

@@WholeLottaBrown One thing I always disliked alot from the Ac community is how they keep on saying that ac3 combat is too easy and you can defeat everyone with just the counter when the game actually punishes you for doing that. You can counter some but others would require breaking their guards. Some others would also require both. Then there is using a human shield against guns. I think people are just mixing up the combat of Black flag ith AC3.

For me unity is good

Unity and syndicate are alright at least they play like assassins creed

Thank you I was looking for this comment. The insta kill axe or spear throws and the hidden blade finishers were my favorites from Ac2 once I learned how to do them

Me too, it's extremely fun and fast-paced, you need actual reflexes to counter enemy attacks

I wish I had the option make counter attack insta kill in unity too. I mean if I wanted to be challenged i would play darks souls (which i do, even if i am trash at it) but AC is my little rogue fantasy thing

unity was peak AC bruh. The parkour, the combat, was PERFECT. Story was kinda meh and the whole buggy release made everyone hate it

@@Mangaka_Library that is true, but in some rare occasions if you kill a lot of them the last low class soldier (militia) will try and run away

@@littleumbrella1763 Still wished they kept that for the rest of the games... It kinda... Doesn't feel well when you kill about 5 brutes or 7 elites, and the rest of the soldiers are still fighting you even though they saw you kill their Allies in a brutal way...

Same but I feel like some of the finishers are kinda stupid like when eivor takes a dane axe and goes for between the shoudler and head and the guy puts up his hands(away from between the head and shoudler) but eivor still manages to cut the guys hands off somehow

99% of his kill animations are reused from Black Flag though so I'm not sure how true your statement is

(just to be clear, my comment is about combat as a whole, not just finishers) the problem in the transition from Ezio Trilogy to 3, Black Flag, etc. was the following: first we had enemies which would actually block or deflect hits, only landing a (lethal) blow after timing the attack button. spamming the attack button did not work spamming parry/counter did. then... for the next gen, what did we get ? mindless spamming of the attack button... but the fucking cherry on top: every hit connects.... but no, doesn't matter if the enemy got stabbed and sliced 30 times already, because his healthbar isn't depleted. this got boring really fast, and taints replay value.

I disagree. Problem with AC3s combat was the insanely long slow down time after parrying to decide what you want to do. It interrupts combat each time, making it tedious and repetitive, and it also tales away every challenge since you have what feels like 2 seconds to think about your next move for every.single.parry. *Yaaawwwn*

@@Joel-zj5oz I played every Ac too and Ac3 was the best at combats ، ac unity is totally boring in combats , it’s like the only ac that u try to avoid fights cause u can not even dodge and moves are sooo slow….Ac3,4 and syndicate are better and cooler… And if Ac unity was cool enough it wouldn’t be a disappointment for the franchise and unfortunately it was the first game that I played on my ps4… But I’m still saying it got the best graphics in acs
