I've noticed that Screw Attack, Power Bombs, and Hyper Beam are usually the final items you get in the games. I guess they're meant to be three of the strongest attacks ever, huh?

Basically yeah, with the exception of Zero Mission and Prime 3 where you get the Screw Attack Mid game. And Fusion where you get the P-Bombs before mid game And prime 3 where you get the hyper beam in the beginning

Screw Attack can kill any non-boss enemy instantly (and at least in AM2R, the teleporters are blocked by Screw Attack blocks) The Powerbombs can help you in the endgame Item Hunt, since the X-Ray Scope from Super was deleted And the Hyper Beam is OP

For personal matters Samus Aran's Hyper Beam is her most powerful weapon in the Metroid series and it can also be very effective against Ridley and Mother Brain.

The beam has been "given" to her in different forms too, so canonical order: her first hyper beam was the phazon beam she got from phazon hyper mode in prime 1, later she obtained a hyper beam she can use at will in corruption, next she got some kinda special natural hyper beam from the baby metroid which is it in the purest form, and finally, the new hyper beam she got was due to (spoilers! Scroll down to read the rest) So basically she had quite a few Absorbing it from raven beak

Okay so the thing I noticed on the first fight is how... borderline PERFECT the player gets it... even the attacks seem to almost hit Samus but don't.... it feels like a movie scene where Samus just finally CUTS LOOSE and unloads everything onto Mother Brain and NOTHING the hag-like beast has can stop her or even slow her down! She briefly lives up to what the title of the series translate to.... The Ultimate Warrior.

REMEMBER these words. The Hyper Beam can ONLY be activated by the "Mark of a Metroid". In the Prime Series, that was PHAZON (part of Metroid Prime) and METROID PRIME/DARK SAMUS. In the 2D series, it was the BABY METROID.

@@dazcarrr mate her final smash isn't even the Hyper Beam. It's called Zero Lazer. Also, Smash is the WORST place to see any accurate depictions of Metroid anywhere, even Ridley's Final Smash isn't something Ridley ever does in the games.

@@dazcarrr plus, more to that the origins ACTUALLY comes from Phazon which I am going to propose two POSSIBLE theories that are highly likely. 1) SR388 Metroids had Phazon from the very start and instead of X Parasites being the main reason they acted as catalysts and Phazon was the main reason for their "mutations". 2) During the time Samus had left GF members had started to experiment on the Baby Metroid and had injected Phazon into it.

@@groudonor12 technically now samus's final smash is accurate to the games due to dread, the hyper beam looks like zero Lazer and functions the same apart from being able to wave it up and down like a fly swatter

The one thing that could change about Super Metroid would be to have a special theme play instead of that ship theme. It doesn't fit the moment.

I've always asked myself that question. MB literally overpowered samus on her own, that says a lot right there. Then to to come back from a full super metroid attack? And even manage to still kill the super metroid!!!! Wow.

Simple, the baby didn't drain enough of MB to actually kill her. After MB collapsed, the Baby assumed she was no longer a threat and rushed to save its "mom".

No, Dread's Hyper Beam more likely an Easter egg to the one in corruption. It only happens because if you don't go off Hyper Mode in Corruption, you enter a stage called Hyper Sickness which is nightmare fuel. Also, just pointing out to you all, Hyper Beam can ONLY be activated by the Mark of the Metroid.

Metroid's Hyper Beam is also called Hyper Beam in Japan. Pokémon's Hyper Beam tho, is called Destruction Beam in Japan, so there is no relation whatsoever between the two in their native language.

I like to think that whoever was on the original Pokémon RB translation team was a Super Metroid fan, and renamed "Destruction Beam" into the move we know as Hyper Beam as a tribute of sorts.

I love Samus. Best Nintendo IP. She's overly powerful esp in dread tappin into new power. She pretty much Rogue now from X-men. Can't wait for prime 4. And maybe some dlc for dread?

Metroid powers is usually how she uses her actual Hyper Beam. She consumes so much energy that she essentially becomes a walking nuke. The Hyper Beam is expensing that energy.

Umm... So, the Metroid Other M one... That's a normal charge shot or something right? No way that's the Hyper Beam. I was gonna mention Smash's Zero Laser not counting but I'll give that a pass for at least looking like Hyper Beam. But I don't feel like I can do that with that Other M clip
