I'd say that the Wind Waker drowning animation is very dark, especially with how vibrant and colourful the game is. Just the way Link's body floats to the surface, but we can't see his face is very dark to me. I can imagine some random person on their morning walk, then they see a blonde kid with the master sword and a green tunic, not responding to anything.
twilight princess's game over music is just dramatic in general.Also the first time i died in that game was when the guy was murdering poor wolfie with a hawk
I feel like dramatic isn’t a proper descriptor though. Like, when I hear dramatic I think over exaggerated and attention grabbing. This is just how you’d expect a normal person to look while drowning. I’d argue OoT is more dramatic, flailing around and screaming despite a lack of oxygen.
This is going to make me sound like a know-it-all and I apologize, but you can drown after getting out of the water because your lungs fill up with fluid! It's known as secondary drowning, I believe, but know that I just read about this once and very quickly googled it to make this comment, so these facts may not be 100%
It's pretty disturbing to see and hear young children like young and toon link struggle to breath desperately and drowning while their lifeless body goes limp. Trauma inducing.
yeah and the whole animation itself is creepy too idk smth abt him fainting and then somber music abruptly starting while we just stare at him dying is unnerving
You know what would be *really* sad? If link died with the weighted boots from drowning, he just dies standing straight up because the pressure would be pushing him upward
@@rogayahabdullah4876 if someone inhales a large amount of water they may be unable to cough enough of it out of their lungs enough to breathe even after being removed from the body of water. I believe it's more common with salt water which is more irritating to the air ways and could add blood to the mix. Thats why part of drowning first aid is to have their head positioned down and to encourage coughing as the internal water drains. And to get a chest x-ray if they seem to have any continued trouble breathing! :)
Here’s a fact: even though the water in Wind Waker is opaque, Link has a swimming animation that’s never seen in game, but a test room hidden in the game’s files has transparent water so you can see it. Link does a breaststroke motion with his arms while kicking his legs
You actually CAN drown as Child Link without the need of getting hit. All you need to do is find an area where you can dive and get stuck (Zora's Fountain is a good option for this as you can get stuck under Jabu-Jabu) and just wait until you drown!
Majora's Mask 3D drowning animation as Link is very, very unsettling. The way he grabs his stomach, and then his mouth in a panic state (even if he was poker facing until that point) is way too realistic...
I can't say for sure, but I think the sound that plays repeatedly when you start running low on air in Twilight Princess is sampled for the first note of that game's Game Over screen.
@@Master0fHyrule hey in windwaker on dragon roost dungeon if you get damage thrown off the edge (like you did to drown ww link for the actual animation) im pretty sure there is a different death sound? Oh and i mean the outside parts of the dungeon
7:30 That is pretty odd that drowning does damage in this game when it's meant to harken back to A Link to the Past which didn't do damage. Same with Link's Awakening on the Switch.
@Joseph Quattrochi I loved playing as her in the Hyrule Warriors games too. Her and Lana were my main characters I'd play as. But I lost the game before I could unlock the character of Midna's true form.
