I think the newest one is the best, and an improvement over the previous one; the eyes are less creepy and she looks generally cuter. Same with Mickey. I don't get why people hate the new ones... they look cartoony? I'm sorry, are Minnie and Mickey NOT CARTOONS? Anyway, great video, I love this series. I'd love to see Daisy at some point, she's my favorite! 😂

I agree, the one before the newest one just wasn’t very Minnie-ish to me. It looked kind of cold and fashionista-y compared to how she really looks. The lips were sharp and stark, her eyes looked odd.
Apparently Minnie is the parks character with the most varied wardrobe. It makes sense, the princesses & other film specific characters are kind of shoe-horned into the outfits from their film or others they were marketed in for a while. Minnie is allowed to have a varied closet as a character without a specific film or theme. Over 200 and counting. Not costume related but: Minnie's official voice actress from the 80's through 2000's was actually married to Mickey's official voice actor. Awww
That Man's name is Walter, Walt Disney is his full name, THE KIDS LOOK FINE, EVEN THO IT LOOKS LIKE THEY WOULD BE IN FNAF! I guess it wasn't scary back then, I don't know what changed.
Hey Dan! Nice little histories you are doing here. It sparked a memory from my early 70's childhood in the midwest. Each year, several themed exhibits would come through our town's single shopping mall, and one was a little walk-through Alice in Wonderland. As I recollect, the characters were Disney images: a real Alice, a Mad Hatter, whose costume may have been like the armless Minnie you describe, since I remember him scrunching his nose up at me, and the White Rabbit, who led us through the exhibit. Most of the rest of the exhibit was painted flats and props set up to look like a little garden path, and there may have been a tea party set up. I can find no reference online to this touring exhibit and wondered if anyone else remembers anything like this, or if Disney toured anything else along these lines? Keep up the great work!
I cannot believe it took them that long to get out of the creepy phase! Poor kids lol. I love the latest version of Mickey and Minnie, I don't understand how people can hate it when they're much more accurate to the animations.
He mostly still is now, I think. Mainly because a big, macho man wouldn't pass off as a mouse too well. Though why this one didn't think to make like Mulan and get some breast-binding is anyone's guess.
It's even funnier that the Mickey's got some va-va-voom curves too. An hourglass figure! Ironically one of the most freaky things I heard about Minnie is my sister's friend worked at Disney and told me that one of the Minnie's is played by a short, old man. I can't get that image out of my head when I see Minnie at the parks now. And maybe it's not a big deal, but for some reason I just imagine it being a creepy looking man and that makes it worse.
I always thought that Minnie's makeup looked a bit too tacky. Blue eye shadow and bright red lipstick... now, I'm not judging but yeah it looks a bit much.
you are really good at this. your inflections and way of describing things are very friendly and knowledgeable. the way you explain thibgs seems fresh and natural even though youve had to do it every video. Keep Improving!
I love the 2016 look and I’m happy they got rid of the lipstick, but they need to make it so the eyelashes are attached to the eyelid on the articulated Minnie heads so that it’s not so creepy when she blinks XD.
Flashback to 1955, a la Nostalgia Critic's Cat in the Hat review... Bob Cummings: These costumes will not bite you, they wanna have fun. So without further ado, meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse! 1955 Mickey and Minnie: Ta-da! (That makes me scream in fear (with with the scream being Sherman Schrader's scream from Accepted)!) Me: AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! When did Rizzo the Rat mutate with the Animaniacs? Those are hideous! Ice Capades worker: What? They look like the Walt Disney cartoon! Me: Alright, first of all, when did the Ice Capades start following and watching anything from a Walt Disney cartoon? Second, what makes these characters cute in animation doesn't necessarily make them cute in real life. In animation, you can get away with leaving certain things out, like smears, for instance per se. They would look like smudges if you put them in a drawing of an animated cartoon, but in real life, it looks really scary! In fact, the reason why Goofy was one of the only good Disney costumed characters back in 1955 was because he was one of the only ones who somehow resembled more or less his animated self in his cartoons, especially the ones from 1952-1953. Every other Disney costumed character at the time looked like a demon possessed Hungry Hungry Hippo! And Mickey and Minnie look like the Shining girls if Bozo the Clown gave them Jager bombs!
I like the 1988 Minnie. It's the version of her we all grew to love! Her new look should, IMO, be used ONLY for emergencies. I also like the articulated versions.
