Ryu has sorts that ability with some gantlet weapon he has but they are strong enough to be able to decapitate fiends. He need the weapons for the ocasdional heavy machinery and Kaiju sized monsters he fights regularly
Man they fucked him up... Ryu in Ninja Gaiden Black will always be the best. It's timeless and legendary. Team Ninja shouldn't redesign him but refine him.

They were planning to add him in 4 but were scrapped due to time constraints abd techical issues then the force unleashed was gonna come out so they went the route of Star Wars. Don’t feel bad. The same thing happened to Dante from Devil may around the development of soul calibur 3. Proof of these scrapped ideas can be found in the games code and some of their assets were recycled into avatar parts in the customizable fighter creation mode.
That's not DOA 2. Why would you put DOA 2 ultimate as if it were the original DOA 2? You do know that DOA 2 Ultimate uses models and levels from DOA 3 and 4 sometimes, and with Hyabusa, it's just his DOA 4 skin.
By cannon in doa Ryu was only really motivated to win the first and second tournament really. He is the cannon winner of the second tournament and gave the money it would award to Gen fu ( I assume because Gen straight out wanted a Tengu nose from bakotsubo for medicine) The ninjas are just pretty heavily implied to be extra challengers after the 3rd game to the rest of the cast that isn’t Helena or Christie. They don’t involve themselves in the tournament directly unless it was needed or on their own whims of entertainment. Ryu does this on his own against Jann Lee in 4 and several times to Hayate since 2 The tournament is a cover of Victor Donovan to conduct his experiments about creating humanoid super weapons. ( this happens more time in fighting games than you think)
In terms of his model we can call it a downgrade from 6... This game truly disappointed me..I hope they release another one (6U or 7) so they can correct their mistakes and revive the series...Or just bring Itagaki back..
@@d.n.tranger1457 yes, it's a tournament and people he cares of get involved every new tournament so It's not a good idea to use the Dragon Sword in normal fights.
