The Mega Man series is prolific. Boasting over a hundred games, it’s understandable if the series’ influence is felt in the gaming industry, especially among 2D platformers. Known for jumping and shooting, and yet some of the greatest developments from the Mega Man series are in the field of lateral movement. So for my first ever entry in Mega Man Month Mega March Madness, let’s look at the Evolution of the Dash.

The Mega man Zero dash is the best if u ask me. Smooth animation, fast moment, good momentum, very useful (Even more useful than in X series) & good way of launching quick attack on weak enemies on ground is by pressing the button on which Z saber is set while dashing (Even better dash attack once you learn a specific EX skill in some later MMZ game) I just love the MMZ dash out of all MM series

The only thing I don’t like about the dash in the X series is that I got so used dashing with the A button in a bizarre hand configuration that it tends to get my poor old guitar abused hands in recent years trying to configure it with the R & L buttons is awkward to get used to when using it as a jump aid...but that’s because I should’ve changed button configurations from the get go. The double tap is a nice touch to have in the bank for certain situations, but not many

Model H and the 3rd armor can airdash upwards.

Between dashing, wall climbing, and charge shot it makes the X game levels a cakewalk.
