Evolution of the WAD is a show describing the history, legacy, and content of Doom mapping styles and themes. This episode covers the first of a few episodes exploring the work of TeamTNT, one of the earliest groups formed for the purposes of creating Doom content. This episode in particular covers their most famous work, TNT: Evilution.
Longer than I'd hoped, but it IS an IWAD after all. The episodes immediately following this one will feature content such as Icarus: Alien Vanguard, Eternal DOOM, and the Boom engine, as well as the lesser known additions in the TeamTNT catalog like Daedalus and Eternal Doom IV, and finally a number of mapsets that have cleared been inspired by these things. I'm trying for a group of episodes on the smaller side: we'll see how it works out.

One reason Mustaine's maps feel samey is because they were intended for Master Levels. Map01 was rejected for being too small, and while I don't think it's been officially stated anywhere, I'm pretty sure Map17 was rejected because id wanted never before seen maps, and as MTrop pointed out, it was already in #1dwango.

I'm not Russian (not far away I guess) and I'm going to say TNT was more interesting. I also liked Cryptic Passage for Blood more than the other extra episode for very similar reasons. Lots of memorable design and ideas, and really good variety (no surprise). I think you just need to look at their respective secret maps to see how one of them didn't exactly go for subtlety. Oh, and Valve are working on a Dota 2 -based collectible card game... LoL. Habitat: The habitat part is where you were standing when you asked where the habitat part was :) It's mostly only got one kind of monster in it and it's sort of like a big pen in a zoo. There's that other area that's kinda like that too. And the river is so they can drink. It's not the most obvious though. The rest is just miscellaneous ideas.

I'm fairly certain I stumbled into that sewer area in map 12 early on, without needing to take the long way there.

MM2's E1 is first half=all hellscape, second half=all sewers. The Megawad as a whole is a lot more consistent that either MM1 or Requiem, but people often don't remember that because it's the least frequently played of the three.

I always start playing TNT and Plutonia but never finished them, weird. Time for me to finish this thing. Also liked TNT more for some reason, maybe was the awesome music of the first map who engraved it as a good thing in my brain.

I was er... "inspired" by Dead Zone when I made a map for a community project that never got anywhere.

One wonders whatever happened to Team TNT's Ragnarok project? I remember reading the short stories they posted on their site, way, WAY back in the day, when I was maybe 10 or 11, and they kind of got me interested. It never surfaced in any form, did it?
