Farewell hyrule king is my favorite theme outta all zelda games and wind waker imo is the best zelda ever made, farewell hyrule king theme means so much to me that I want that theme to be played at my funeral😭, that theme just hits so hard making me feel sad and heartbroken how the king accepted his end and the way he looks down when link looks at him as he’s floating up

This theme from ALTTP has always held a special place in my heart!

The farewell theme for the King of Hyrule in Wind Waker was one of the first songs I learned to play on the piano. I remember sitting in my basement on our midi keyboard practicing each hand individually over and over again and finally putting the two together. Love your content and your approach to sharing music theory, keep up the amazing work!

They don't just play Level 9 in Hyrule Castle in TotK; watch the opening cutscene again, and as Link and Zelda approach Ganondorf you'll hear those notes on a piano. They combine Level 9, the original Ganon theme, and the new theme they created for this game all to be part of one big "Ganondorf Signal." If you hear one of those while playing, he's involved in whatever you're doing.

I think it would be very cool if you broke down each song from the memories after you're able to play TotK 😀 There are so many little references in them and it's amazing how they go hand in hand with the story being told As always, thanks for an awesome video!!! ✨🎶✨ Have a wonderful day

At 49:30 you pulled that Zelda 1 level 9 reference out of no where! It's so genius how they sneak that in considering the context of the game. It definitely shows how much love they still put into the development when they're throwing in 37 year old references that most people won't even pick up on! When I listen to Zelda music it can sound completely different but still feel like a Zelda game and you do a great job showcasing the tricks they use to accomplish that. This may become my new favorite yt channel ha!

My favorite part of this video is when you do an analysis of the Fairy Fountain theme in the near future.

OMG i think I just discovered a musical easter egg in TOTK ! It's late game, so spoiler warning, listen to the track "Ganondorf transformation" at timecode 2:04. It's almost the "boss defeated" theme from OOT ! Only one note from the melody is missing, but it's clearly intentional. I've seen no talk about it. Thanks for your work by the way, I love zelda music so your videos are soooo interesting !

I know you pointed out several of the bits and pieces of the theme throughout the ToTK Castle Theme (like the horns), but one i caught that's a bit hard to hear is the bells (as in the xylophone-like percussion instrument) that pop in every so often are playing another part of the B section/transition of the original; lemme get the timestamp real quick --at 51:03 you can hear it most clearly, tho it's probably audible earlier too before we figured out theyre doing the Dungeon 9 theme!

Hey dude, I don't want to be that guy but I want to throw this out there for posterity. In a couple of videos now, you've referred to Four Swords Adventures as Four Swords. They are two separate games on two different consoles. It's not a big deal obviously but I have a big soft spot for FSA so I've got to represent! Thank you for yet another awesome video.

Hands down best theme in Link to the Past The Minish Cap version is SO GOOOOD. 24:35ish in reference to the Twilight Princess version you state "its like a child left in the empty halls of a castle, its creepy." It is a ghostly vibe for sure, but like literally this was reality for Zelda. Ganon's theme in there just... wow. It speaks so much anytime you hear that in the castle, its his ulitamite goal to destroy Hyrule. How better to do that from within? So its just so telling anytime you hear the two (King Hyrule and Ganon's theme) together INSIDE the castle. Like you know its about to go down 😂 Its crazy I didnt play BotW until a few months before TotK came out, and as soon as i saw the old man i was like why is the king in disguise? What happened? What other game do i need to play cause i think i missed something.. 😂😂 he was just to regal in presence to be just some random old man. The gong is literally the tears, like what a foreshadowing that is in BotW!! I feel like its exactly how a fallen tear would sound. Your videos just show how the music just intricatly weaves itself into each game, game to game, character to character AND the story/lore/theories! So thought provoking! Also that Star Fox reference, its like TADA! 😂 thats what i would always say when i hear it and it is so fitting 😂 Anyhoo! Keep up the awesome work!

i absolutely adore the hyrule castle theme. i have it on my playlists LOL i never get tired of hearing it... something about it is very satisfying. i love the link between worlds version with all the instruments... then the marching drums added to it :] i do have a question though, around the 9:20 ish mark you were playing some other examples of music- im not really any music expert, but the sound of it really reminded me of the luigi's mansion theme! i'd be interested in knowing what's going on there, too ...

At 6:23 that part of the melody reminds me of certain parts of the hyrule field theme in ocarina of time. Is there any relation that you've heard?

lol i'm not much of a pianist either; farewell hyrule king was a PAIN both to figure out by ear and to play the hard section. The left hand starts way at the bottom of the piano and travels up so fast my fingers cannot keep up 😅
