There's a 7 year old thread on reddit pointing this out, and a comment from someone mentioning how they discovered that years ago when first playing it on the piano. Not exactly a brand new discovery.
You are correct. So, I cut this line from the original footage for the final edit, but I reference that thread and say "There's like one Reddit post from X years ago with 10 likes and one comment... Are you telling me this may be the greatest video game soundtrack of all time, with one of the biggest musical ideas, and 11 people noticed??" And then I go into the final line "This is why my channel exists..." That was exactly my point. There is almost nothing on the internet on it. This deserves MUCH more of a spotlight. Just trying to do my part 👍🏼 Not insinuating I was the only one on earth to notice, just that it is criminally under appreciated. Heck I didn't notice until early 2024. And when I heard it I decided to do a video on it. And I'm one of the biggest Zelda nerds of all time and have listened to the OoT OST repeatedly since I was like 10. Hi hi ! Writing this comment because I have a video request . So lately , when playing tears of the kingdom I noticed , that link sings some melodies while cooking! Its only a few notes , but its still quite recognisable . I definitely Heard the lost woods theme from oot , and also the Melodi- from the Main zelda track . Maybe also either ballad of the windfish or song of Storm but im not sure about those 2. Well anyways , there were a lot of Tones that I did not recognise but im very curious to know from what soundtrack they are from! It would be really really awesome if you would do a video or a short out of this . But also wanted to say I love your Videos its always so interesting to watch so thank you !!!
@ZeldaMusicTheory I'm putting together a presentation on Koji Kondo and I just realized the Haunted House theme from Super Mario World is essentially the second part of Ganon(dorf)'s theme! I'm absolutely beside myself right now.

Zelda professor sir... I was scarily guessing exactly the way you did as if i were looking in a mirror... every single measure/count/subdivision with the SAME TINY GASPS and WIDENED EYES/RAISED BROWS due to brain wires crossing causing a sudden pause of shock/confusion for the gut-punch of NOT feeling the downbeat of "one" ESPECIALLY when you've been in the "pocket" for a good three or four measures just vibin... [[im new to your channel (2 vids in but obsessed) but my dude ima just guess you MUST be a saxophone player, or have been cursed to experience it for many years... I see the trauma response of a musician who had the false support and comfort of a full jazz band experience, not just a combo or a bar gig... actually in concert band too, lemme guess i bet since you are such a virtuoso on piano to the point I thought surely that's all you play(or else it's just not fair) from what ive seen you have definitely cut some of you teeth on sax. concert first chair and jazz band lead sax? it's such a specific curse we have, we have been spoiled and catered to in both classical post-romantic avante garde sax concertos, or big fat jazz feature, all with an entire group always giving us PICKUP NOTES or MEASURES/JAZZY LEAD INS OUR WHOLE LIVES and all we cant fathom music without our dear pick up notes... i digress. this made no sense TLDR saxophone players are broken counters help
Wow! Incredibile video❤ i will ne so thriller if you could do an animal crossing new leaf music analisys! There’s so much stuff in there and I feel a lot of harmony from Zelda is in ACNL. It would be SUPER INTERESTING. Also the fact that sometimes is jazzy. It would be so cool if you could do some sort of videos in which you show not only the Zelda themes hints in the games, but also “list” some sort of Emotional”vocabulary” wich we can leernos how those chords make the listener feel and how the MUSIC “links” perfectly with the trailer, its flow. We dont studi that even in musical theory so surely would help
