2k needs to give this game another chance, it was shaping up really well when stage 2 came around and there was a mountain of hype for it and then our dreams were crushed like behemoth in a parking lot
Nobody seems to remember this - the game was doing fine in stage 2 with a fair amount of concurrent players plus community support with videos and media for it, and then the publisher made them take the public servers down because the game didn't make enough money. With zero payment options available at the time.
@@eewweeppkk With the popularity of MTX today this game could flourish as it always should have. This game was ahead of its time and Dead by daylight stood strong. I think this would be truly an amazing game I think evolve 2 could have be great if it just stuck it out a little longer.
EVOLVE GAMEPLAY IN 2022? Honestly I was really sad that the game had a bad launch and lifespan due to all the micro transactions and just bad marketing and the hate it got by a certain youtube which name we won't mention. Kinda hope we might get a reboot in the future without the micro transactions and proper support so people can see how good the game really is. I dropped a subscribe and like!
same, i really really hope that the game gets a second chance u know, like, dude, just look at it, look at how well done it is, look at how, unique this game is man....
It wasn't just that, it's incredibly unbalanced. There's basically no room for error for the monster and if the hunter's teamwork is even slightly decent it's pretty much impossible for the monster.
@@hassandabo6288 yeah, its not unbalanced, it was unbalanced the before "evolve stage 2, the free to play" that one fixed all the balance and made a new, unique moba the world had never fuking seen before, and it DIED not because it was a bad game, but because it was handled so bad, they couldnt make money out of it, and nobody works for free...
I personally love the gorgon's playstyle, using its damage over time attack to overcome healing in the early game, along with an unorthidox movement to cover your tracks, some games you just outpace the hunters and come at them in the finally and curb stomp them
I'm sad to see he didn't use the high pounce once. Admittedly, map wasn't perfect for that, but the burst of damage+pin + grapple from the spiderling is just such a great init move.
Gosh, the sound design for this game is superb. I cannot stress how hard it is to create unique-sounding monsters in a game about MONSTERS. Cheers, glad someone is still loving this game.
God.. I really missed this game. Or just this generation of games entirely. I personally grew up with Evolve and played it until the very end when the console servers were cut. The memories I had with it and my friends, I'll never get them back but seeing multiple players fighting each other like the good old days of 2016.. I needed it. Great video Outcast! You bring back many old memories many people appreciate.
I pretty much agree with that second sentence, and I dealt with this same sentiment for other mp games going as far back as the ps3 era. But while there are some caveats to it, check the link I left
@@AAron859318 Interesting.. I also have an Xbox One Series X, and I routinely play Evolve often since the servers shut on my end for two years now and for me the servers are still dead, only bot matches. Although for your case I find that rather interesting, although not suprising. I have heard of some communication and rumor there bringing back some public servers of some kind. No clue on what device though. But if you somehow. managed to access some secret in the connection between the servers, you might have hit a goldmine! Then again. I am one to overact, but you gotta admit, the idea is tantalizing.
I didn't realize this game had an active player base still.. it was such a cool concept, I remember the Kraken being my favorite monster to play. Maybe I'll come back to it!
I spent so much money buying this game for my friends trying to get them to play it. I'm glad someone is still playing it. For me it was so hard to find teammates with mics and this game was 100% teamwork, unless you're the monster
If I remember correctly, Gorgon can attach to the walls to help with sneaking past the hunters. Would like to see if it can attach itself to the ceiling of caves as well.
It can Yesterday i played a game and that gorgon was hanging on the ceiling and i got jumped i Hope this game gets back because its very fun and has a very unique concept
It can attach to specific walls, the surface must be flat and not rounded or extremely abnormal. It can be the ceiling or walls. Sometimes simply crouching in a bush is a better option at times for stealth, as Gorgon has the pounce attack which is quiet and powerful for ambushes.
@@DillonMeyer The hilarity of sitting in a bush and watching the hunters run right past you, only for Daisy to start barking at you. And then the trapper comes along, looks a hell lot confused and starts searching the nearby ravines and whatnot. Bushes are OP
@Zefira Everyone dunked on the game for the microtransactions when most games do the same and worse. I think a lot of kids and not skilful players got fed up when they lose as they run about by themselves etc. They didn't come back so players plummeted. IMO
Servers! Most of my friends couldn't even play on Xbox and got frustrated and never came back. After this it just went downhill so fast! Wasn't even because of the actual gameplay which to this day is still ahead of it's time!
@Zefira Was the business model in general. Wasn't worth $60 to begin with, and they added a digital version on top of it, and preorder bonuses, and day one DLC. Drop the game to $40 like it belonged, considering it was just a mplayer arena with only a couple maps, and leave the rest out, game would have been much bigger.
@@cowboys808 that’s odd I played with my friends a few times and had no issues expect when I was the monster cuz they were new and I’d mess with them keeping them at low health or killing three and letting them respawn
@@boothedjinn yeah it's a shame about the game premise but they deserved everything that happened adding hundreds of pounds of monetisation into a game that wasn't even finished
After the failure that was Back 4 Blood I highly doubt Turtle Rock studios will ever be allowed to do such a thing ever again. They really haven't learned much since 2015.
they did, it was called evovle stage 2, it was great! you could unlock everything by just playing the game, I found it awesome but i guess they didnt have enough players and they took the servers down eventually :(
NEVER I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THIS DAY WOULD COME WHEN I WAS 10 YEARS OLD AND LOVED THIS GAME BUT IT SHUT DOWN WHEN I INSTALLED IT WHEN I WAS 13 IM 18 NOW LETS FUCKING GO
This game is easy in my top 5 games. It is definitely my favorite 4 vs 1 game. It has so much deep mechanics in it from both sides. I would very happy if they relist the game, start adding battlepasses and balance fixes.
I had this game all figured out. Walk a few steps in one direction, turn around and sneak the other way. The hunters spend about 2 minutes following the wrong trail, and it makes such an impact. I played the wraith like an actual ghost, sometimes nobody found me until the final generator showdown, and it was so fuckin fun. BRING THE SERVERS BACK DAMN IT!!!
@@sourirerouge9995 Currently, you can't play it unless you've already purchased it, and it's in your game library on Steam. We all hope they make it available again!
Omg I forgot about this game. I even played it a bunch but I would've sworn it'd died...this is awesome 👌 the game felt very underdeveloped at the beginning and I wanted so much more for it. After watching you play however I realize playing again would be disastrous for me lmao. I'd be spider food in a hot second 😂👌
So crazy this game ended. I had pre-ordered it and everything, still have the physical copy, was one of my favorite games. Would've loved to see it live longer and get more monsters and hunters. Really miss this game
The game is soo good, but you can't deny that it is unbalanced. How is it possible that the monster can regenerate shield so easily just by eating? Also, the dome deactivates quickly when the monster is already low on health... those things put hunters at a disadvantage, because a veteran monster (with a lot of experience) kills you in phase 1.
Noticed a few mild mistakes with gorgon if you are 1v2 you can trap one enemy with spider egg then sneak attack the other. They won't be able to do anything about it and you can nuke em, especially if you put acid on the one you are sneaking first to kill faster. Web also helps keep them in acid longer if you hit it first to catch those pesky agile characters with more damage. Other than that great gameplay!
I remember in evolve legacy it required to develop skill to track the the monster with each trapper individually ,now the seems to all have planet scanners and shit , if you played back then against a good sneaky monster and you werent a good trapper i would be a stage 3 fight ,damn game was dope and they ruined it, still love it tho
I also remember that, I got into evolved before it launched and exclusively played trapper. There were days when very good monsters could throw you off and you had fo fight a stage 3 max hp. I can see why they would give every trapper a planet scanner mainly due to people not wanting to actually sweat to track the monster.
one of the biggest complaints people had about the game was it was a "running simulator" and sometimes they wouldn't see the monster at all the entire match. they added the planet scanner to combat that
@@realKenM Do you want to play a thirty minute match without fighting at all? Go play Hunter: Call of the Wild. This game is boring as shit for most people, I enjoyed my time sneaking around but I could tell the player weren’t having fun, most of my games got at least 2 bots when I reached stage three.
@@thedeusvultguy5346 Yes. Why would anyone play a game with intentionally long matches and a focus on hunting/being hunted if they don't want to either hunt/be hunted and can't stand having breaks in the action. There are more than enough 4v1 player games that focus more heavily on action. This is just changing something to make it more appealing to a boarder audience and completely losing out on the niche it was in.
Really good game for its time, honestly if they relaunch it with the free to play model it has with a battle pass it might have the player base consistency to stay alive this time around while adding in new things every two seasons or so
It was re-released F2P as evolve stage 2. It flopped a second time and was discontinued. Such a shame as I felt it was going well and on the right track
@@SirNexxes It didn't flop when it was released in stage 2. The servers got very abruptly shut down by the publisher because the game wasn't making enough money in stage 2. It had literally zero options for in game purchases at this time - the only possible way to show financial support for stage 2 was to buy the base game which they had stopped supporting beforehand. The stage 2 playerbase was doing just fine, steadily growing with enough concurrent players that I never had a queue time longer than a minute searching for a match, as a monster or hunter.
@@eewweeppkk yeah , like the other comment said release some battle pass and some skins to show support to the Game , since as you said stage 2 was an unsustainable business model
Considering most of the skins could be earned just by playing the game and there were no lootboxes I dunno bout that. I think what actually died was one of the only genuinely creative games made in the last decade.
Still one of the best games ever made IMO , replays were sick in the after action report , learning to throw your trackers off ,double back and come around stalking ,while trying to upgrade, man this game has it all , dope gameplay by the way outcast will sub for this one !
This game gave me nightmares since i was only 9 when it came out but had some jaw droping animation for its time loved the game, nice to see it still geting atention
I love how when you bring down a dome against a fully evolved monster, it's not clear if the monster is trapped in there with the hunters, or the opposite..
Thought this game was dead a long ago, never thought I'd hear from it again and especially in 2022, god knows I miss that game sometimes even the solo experience
