Thank you Ewan for your wonderful acting as Aemond. One of actors carried season 2. Wish more than 20 minutes of Aemond in the show. Thank you for sharing this interview ❤
it's true, him and matt smith are the only two keeping this thing afloat (even though the writing for Matt's scenes this season were abysmal, his acting was still great).
They did him so dirty, he needed more screentime, I'm so sad and angry about it😭 waiting for more Aemond for 2 years and not getting anything is painful
I want to see Aemond in Season 3 next year. Ewan is amazing actor. He just gets in to the heart of fans so quick. He never play that kind of Villain and l never fall in love with villain before.
Ewan is doing a phenomenal job. He is a standout. Very natural and talented actor. Even with just his expressions and body language he conveys so much of what Aemond is about. 🙌🏻 I think thanks to Ewan, Aemond is a character that you love to hate haha.
@@samwallaceart288 So true! He brings a humanity to Criston that likely fuels the hatred, everyone knows someone like Cole, perhaps even seeing parts of him in themselves. And despite the limitations of the writing in S1a little bit better in S2, Fabien has performed 🔥
Ewan YOU are otherworldly! We all are truly blessed to have you on the screen. You and Tom carried s2 on your backs, despite the disastrous writing. You deserved more screen time! You're a remarkable actor with a terrific range. Can't imagine anyone else as Aemond. I love book! Aemond and I'll always imagine him as you. Thank you for bringing Aemond to life. Eager and excited for your future projects!
You know what, I don’t think they appreciate y’all clowning their coworkers etc when trying to compliment them. I enjoyed the entirety of season 2 and a big part of the fandom ruined the experiences for a lot of people including myself. A fandom worse than Star Wars, toxic at its finest
@@tuvi0032 Just because you like mediocrity doesn't mean everyone should give it a pass. No one's stopping you from enjoying stuff. Nobody is "clowning". The criticism towards the writing and dialogues in the show is very valid, no matter how much you cope. Good stuff gets praised and bad stuff gets criticized, nothing toxic about it. I don't see why this show should be exempt from its major flaws getting called out. The showrunners have no respect for the source material, they don't even understand the world of ASOIAF. It is an adaptation so even in the changes they make they are supposed to remain faithful to the canon characterization, not make up their own tumblr tier fanfic with their insane changes and then give rubbish excuses like everything they don't agree with in F&B is Maester's Propaganda. Which is a BS because I doubt GRRM would waste his time writing a book about his fictional world intending it to be 99% fake. Nobody is ruining your "experiences" but the writers definitely ruined the show for many viewers who wanted good writing, and if the writing is horrible, not even the best actors can stop the audience from noticing that. As for the co-workers comment (I assume you're referring to the writers and showrunners, because the actors have been really good), I doubt those "co-workers" have any respect for the actors, considering they ruined most characters and been creepy by making actors like Ewan and Olivia do awkward things just for their own weird fetishes.
@@DanCampbellGlazer nobody is complaining about action and wanting dragon battles each episode. The slow pace isn't exactly a problem, the problem is that most of this season has been filler. There was scope for interesting scenes even if there's no action. Even when there was no action in GOT it was still mostly entertaining. But everything has been boring in HOTD S2, due to WRITING. Not exactly because lack of action.
I’m glad to see ewan in interviews as we can’t see him interacting with the fandom etc from his own socials! He is a phenomenal actor and I love his calm persona and sweet personality!!❤
@@Lionstar16 Was gonna say... both of them just amazing, very impressed with Tom overall and Ewan impressed me soooo much in ep 8, his facial expressions 10/10
As much as I think the writers are doing Aemond a disservice in this second season, Ewan proves his professionalism and dedication in playing the role to his utmost. Hopefully next season they can bring it back and give Aemond and Ewan the writing calibre they deserve
The writers don't care, they only care about making team bland and Rhaenyra look good, Aemond is a plot device with 15 minutes of screen time. Ewan will be wasted again.
I liked that in the season finale I could see inspiration in his performance from Uthred/Alexander Dreymond in The Last Kingdom. He's a fantastic actor and excited to see how he plays out the rest of Aemonds story.
@@samf.s.7731writing was horrible, it wouldn't be saved by more episodes. They ruined Aemond's character and turned him into a plot device for Rhaenicent, they wasted Ewan by giving him only a minute of screen time per episodes etc.
Thanks you for such an amazing performance, ever since you made an appearance in the show you've been one of my favorites characters, you portray Aemond in the perfect way and understand his character the best, your views on aemond opened my eyes and made me see him in new lights Brilliant actor ❤
Like many other villains written by GRRM, Aemond is such a difficult character to pull off. It could have very easily went into camp and turned into an anime villain in the hands of someone less subtle or became forgettable in the hands of someone less brave. Mitchell has done a phenomenal job walking the tightrope of keeping the character grounded and believable while also maintaining George's maximalist villain aesthetic. It's such a breath of fresh air to see these complex and nuanced portrayals of villains after the massive disappointment of Euron and Ramsay in GOT.
Armond was MVP this season. He's the one keeping the conflict interesting. I wish they actually showed us his attack on Sharp Point. He has replaced Daemon as most interesting character.
Please bring back Miguel Sapochnik or hire another amazing director who has the experience needed for this franchise. This beautiful franchise needs more than one showrunner
Ewan is pretty cool. He seems to really love the character, the series, and the fandom. I appreciate him wearing green often and somehow i get some sortve connection to matt smith like the two are trying to bring that into their interviews particular eean.
I was such a fan of baby monk !! So I followed you into this series and I am not disappointed. BUT I AM SAD BECAUSE I disconnected the nice monk you and accepted you are a villain !
What is it about the HOTD actors who won't watch GOT, and the GOT actors not wanting to watch HOTD? It's nuts really. I mean Emilia Clarke thinks it's too weird. Ewan thinks it's too weird. Both shows have valid points and opposite points, but the actors I would think would watch just good shows.
They made Aemond stupid because the writers are so heavily Team Black. Why would Aemond turn on his brother at Rook's Rest? Why would he help take down a DRAGON on his own side and above his own army? Then go further and find Aegon after he had fallen? It's beyond ridiculous how the people that make this show have no idea what they are doing. Aegon and Aemond rode into that fight TOGETHER
The only characters that were great this season were aemond and aegon , they made this season great in each escene they appear , the rest got nothing to say Waiting for daeron and producers respect him
I wouldn't like to be Ryan Condal right now, he's stuck between a rock and a hard place getting all the backlash, and I blame the fans. You people don't want the show to drag, but you love these actors and you know all these characters die one by one in the book? No wonder Ryan is scared of killing off too many main characters in one season! you fans should make up your mind. Wanna see your bloody dragon wars and all these hot actors being killed off one by one or you wanna drag it on a couple of more seasons? AS a book reader, I don't mind waiting and expanding the book's plot as much as possible. I admire this cast and i am not eager to see them die on screen so soon
why not stick to the source material as close as you can? why change the narrative like Hess is, saying it's all about alicent and rhaenyra? it's a completely normal reaction to be annoyed when writers start branching off into fanfic terrority.
Oh, here comes the HBO shill. Ryan Condom and Sara Mess deserve all the backlash after massacring the source material and having the audacity to insult it by saying everything is Maester Propaganda to excuse their own poopy writing. They have a stellar cast and crew but these two people are hellbent on ruining everything for their tumblr tier terrible fanfiction.

he is easily the most charismatic actor, like all of the greens cast, but just give them nothing to work with. the cast of the Blacks in the Meantime are the most boring, who always look like they are pissed of.
ryan’s main focus this season was making the book readers suprised. he tried so hard to make the show different from the book, he completely changed the most powerful and beautiful story in fire and blood. this season was nothing compared to fire and blood. ryan made brainless decision after brainless decision. no maelor, no nettles. the last episode not being the fall of kingslanding was the dumbest decision. if you cannot tell his story do not make a show about it. not hard
this show had so much potential of being one of thee best shows ever made. he created a boring ass mess even though the promos are all about war. the only actual war we had was rooks rest. as book readers all we want ryan to do is go more detail into scenes in the books that didn’t give us much detail. instead he made it his own war. I am so upset I even wasted my time watching this season
Oh my god.. He was the chosen show runner by GRRM and the changes aren’t that surprising as the book gives several options of the historic events or rather which characters had the most involvement. It’s sad because this fandom is so toxic it ruins the experience for a lot of people. I love GRRM work but as for the changes for this show it’s not odd and shouldn’t be as criticized as the shiw based on Asoiaf. The source material differs by miles and HotD had to fill a lot of things as of character development etc.
The changes started when Ryan made alicent and rhaenyra the same age and besties in the first episode. It altered the plot entirely and if you actually payed attention you’d know this.
They can retcon both Maelor and Nettles. What they can't retcon is giving Daemon the dumb addition of having Daemon have visions and now that's his entire motivation.. What a way to strip him of any and all agency. And like, I'm supposed to think that Aemond challenging fate and wishing to carve out his out destiny is villainous? How?!
It was crap, but was so looking forward to battle I didn't care. To be mislead to the 8 episode to see this battle that didn't happen is bull. Every goo's series has a kick ass finale this didn't have a finale it just ended, episode 8 was as boring as the rest !! How the he'll can you end season 2 like that ?? I'll never watch season three and go through that misleading bull crap again!!
vhaegar cannot fit in the dragon pit?!?? I don’t understand how yall make up bs without reading fire and blood. there is a big dragon pit in kingslanding. she could most definitely fit there and dragonstone.
