WOW the council voting is so screwed up. In my Area, council is a 4 year term, where every position is voted on every 4 years. But the vote is your run for counsel or you run for mayor. If someone resigns within the 4 years, whoever gets voted in, only fills out the remainder of the person's 4 year term

I had a similar situation. I ran for mayor and won. Former mayor sued to keep me out of office. Emergency hearing on December 26th where the judge threw his case out. When I took office I gained access to all their emails, attorney corespondense and receipts/invoices. They used city money to sue to overturn the election, they used city money to hire a detective to follow me. They ran a criminal history on me. It was ridiculous.
