I think Don is one year. He didn't run this past election, the other 4 did and I believe they're 2 year terms. IF Russell resigns or is removed, which is pure speculation over him not attending the meeting, then it could sort itself out. They elect for the emergency 5th place and that person gets the 1 year term along with Don.

If it is proven in court that certain members of the town council misappropriated public funds for their own personal benefit, then upon conviction their properties and possessions should be sequestered by the court so as to enable the selling of them to return the misappropriated funds back into the community from which they were illegally taken.

Gotta commend Jeremy Hales on not only recognizing this all as it’s happening, but then documenting it all, AND THEN editing it all into neatly packaged content for us all to enjoy. This is a prosecutors wet dream; have a gift wrapped slam dunk case drop into your lap. What Jeremy Hales is doing through this Otter Creek playlist could be taught in investigative classes and used as textbook investigative techniques. Side note: most people that see corruption or rights violations happening in their life don’t have the financial means nor exposure to pursue justice. Is the attorney realising the trouble he is in. I'm wondering if he should have retired, especially from counselling the town council. This has been a long time coming. Sorry to say but I think the new mayor should call the Florida Attorney General and ask if FDLE could open both town audit on grant funds and on possible election fraud. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think a lot more has been going in the town government than can be found timely by just the mayor and a couple of clerks thrown into the mess.

fully agree, especially as theres need for an impartial investigation, im not saying that mayor therese and deputy mayor and emergency clerk would do anything wrong, just as they say and are doing being transparent, as the corruption has been towards them and even turtle lady bringing in law enforcement investigators would be timely and again show transparency and prove beyond doubt there the right folks for the post and town. Just by the fact theres 6000 emails detailing the criminal acts it has to go to law enforcement.

The table arrangement needs to change. Now the Mayor is talking mostly to Doug. She should be talking to the citizens. She needs to be in the middle of the table with 2 council members to her right and left, the clerk where she is. I know the room is small but the arrangement reduces her power, which she badly needs. She needs to get a different attorney, too.

Im in the UK, however it should be in the council rules and regs that if a councillor doesnt attend for a certain time frame there gone and no vote needed, they know when elected how much time required.
