In this video, i describe the machine setup differences in Mach 3 using exact stop vs setting up constant velocity. Many folks have problems with corners being rounded in Mach 3 and it is likely due to the CV settings on the General Configuration page.

Finally someone that explains things that a person that's not an electrical engineer can understand.

Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks! My corners were rounded and I couldn't figure out why. Now I know...

i set angle 20 and dist tolerance 1 also lowed accelerations at motor tuning and it works perfect.

This is very helpful thanks! I always wondered how to make my cnc cut similar to spendy machines like thermwood. They always nearly stop at angle cuts, and seemed to not be as jerky as most cncs. Exact stop seems to be what theirs are setup with

In the video there is a glimpse of a cut where the outside cut looked correct BUT the inside cut line has cut the corners off. This is the exact problem I’m looking to fix. Any ideas how??

Seems like the same difference obtained by using G64 instead of G61 instructions before your cutting instructions in the G-code. (Maybe the Mach3 interface is doing just that?)

I believe G64 Turns on CV Mode, and G61 Turns on Exact Stop Mode. so yes, the results should be similar

2mm distance tolerance is huge. I think mine is set to 0.001", i e. 0.025mm. Mind you, I'm machining metal, not wood, but still.

Hello. Are you still using the same settings? I´m machining aluminium and I don´t know what values to use. Thanks.
