Exactech Issues Recall for Liners Used in Knee Replacement Surgeries

The recall, issued in February 2022, applies to both liners on the shelf and those that have already been implanted in patients. The company has been packaging the liners since 2004 in a way that allowed oxygen into the packaging, potentially causing premature degradation of the liners. Patients who have had these liners implanted may experience poly wear disease, which makes successful revision surgery difficult due to bone death.
