The new Stone Ridge MTB trail in Squamish, BC was completed in November 2023 and was lightly ridden over the past winter. It is basically an intermediate trail but offers 4 or 5 black diamond/expert optional segments. These segments are all well marked at the trail intersections, and present challenging, steep rock rolls for the expert level rider. This trail design is a wave of the future, making these trails more rideable to a wider range of cyclists. It is constructed on the side of the mountain beside the very popular, and very similar, Leave of Absence and Rupert trails. If you take the harder optional lines, Stone Ridge is a similar challenge to the expert level Rupert trail. Well done Squamish trail builders!!

Hi there, great video. please give me your opinion on this, planning to visit Squamish this summer, which is the best month to ride there? I prefer warm weather since i m from Houston. Thanks.

It’s best to ride Squamish in July or August. It is the warmest and most dry time of year. But Squamish is also just above sea level and can be ridden most of the year if you don’t mind the rain and wet trails. Do you have an idea of what trails you want to ride?

@@ronsanderson99 Hi Ron Thank you for the good information, basically I’d like to explore the Diamond head area since it has a good amount of blue trails (my thing) and I believe there is a shuttle service there. When is raining season There ?

The rainy season is during the winter: from November to April. Diamond Head is a good place to start: make sure to ride Half Nelson, Full Nelson and Pseudo Tsuga. For other trails, try out Leave of Absense, Stone Ridge, Mikki's Magic and Pamplemousse. Squamish has a great, outdoor, small town vibe...ENJOY!
