My daily exercise walk brings me up a local hill where I'm photographing the Bluebells and Wild Garlic. The only company I had was a deer but my landscape equipment unfortunately didn't include a long lens.
The entire vlog is filmed only on my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Phone and a DJI Osmo gimbal.

Thanks for the tour. You've got some beautiful land around you! Really loved the first photo with the trio of ferns highlighted among the bluebells!

Absolutely, the area is beautiful and I'm glad to live here. I am not particularly happy with the edit of this photo but I am very glad you like it - thank you!

Hi, Oliver! Thanks for taking us with you through that magical forest! I've never seen those carpets of blue bells and wild garlic flowers in person before. The white flowers looked like a fairy tale convention. What a mystery about the cage in the hole! It's a bit scary, isn't it ? You have a wonderful forest nearby, it's too beautiful! Enjoy it and we'll enjoy it with you!

Hello my friend and thank you for your wonderful comment. A stroll through this area is simply relaxing and it's easy to get lost in space and time. I'm very happy to have this magical place right here. I found out that the hole belongs to an old iron ore mine, so that mystery is solved - but I still wouldn't want to crawl insinde... ;)

@@OliverHerbold The 'cage' is to stop people going down the mine but allowing bats to use the cave for roosting or hibernating.The area has many scowles, which are deep gullies where the iron ore was taken out. These create magical places where ferns grow in the low light which make the scowles natural rock gardens. Worth some photos Oliver?? One of the 'caged' mines joins up with the old gold mine about a mile away at the bottom of the hill.

@@johntimbrell thank you so much for the clarification and background information on this. Knowing that there are many mines in the area is one thing but your insider information is priceless.

Thank you so much Martin. The location is really beautiful and I'm very happy to have it in walking distance form where I live. It has become my favourite local place instantly :)

WOW, Oliver -- what a beautiful place --- and walking distance to your house!! Walking distance to my house ie --- well -- more houses! But we do live close to a lake here north of Dallas Texas and there are some walking trails around it! Think I will venture out and see what I can get! We don't have the Bluebell flowers but in the spring we do have flowers called Bluebonnets. They are very popular to photograph and I have some images that I like! Your location looks like there are many opportunities around!! ALSO -- my smellavision did not work =, but I can only imagine! (I think someone wrote a song like that! :-) -- Another GREAT video!! Keep them coming!!

I guess distances and dimensions are slightly different in Texas than here in the UK Gary. But once you're out in the nature there are overwhelming locations. Surely the Bluebonnets make a beautiful subject too - I've read they are the state flower of Texas, is that true? Oh well, if you couldn't smell it, you certainly have to clean up your screen now :)

@GARY1951A 4 года назад
@@OliverHerbold Yes, the Bluebonnet is the state flower - and Texas is very large with some very beautiful areas and not that far from where I live. Here is a link to one of my galleries on my web site that shows a couple of Bluebonnet images: www.garymcclurephotography.com/Select-Images/
