2-seed Liberty (26-8, 15-3) falls to 1-seed Kennesaw State (26-8, 15-3), 67-66, in the ASUN Championship Game at KSU Convocation Center in Kennesaw, Georgia on Sunday afternoon.
I never knew that Kennesaw State was at one point as bad as they mentioned 4 years ago. What a turnaround from them, from 1 win to now 4 years later an NCAA Tournament appearance. Absolutely incredible, well earned to make it to the big dance for the first time ever.
Bro they were bad for YEARS. Like high school teams could beat them. They are located in metro atlanta and as of then failed to attract any talent. This story needs to be told
@@connorthompson8963 no it doesn’t nobody cares this happens all the time with small schools in basketball. They suck and then they get some actual talent and then are good for a couple years and then likely go back to sucking. Unc Asheville won 4 games like 2 years ago and won it too, just how small time basketball works you must be new to the sport
Look at where the student section is and how high up it is from the court plus in order for them to enter the court theyd have to go through the regular attendance seating
Also, they ran out chains to block people from entering the court. Specifically, they blocked the court entrances from regular attendance seating, quickly, post-game. For crowd control, they did well! (3,805 in attendance)
ESPN brain says don't forget KSU was 14th in the ASUN in free throw shooting, despite the fact the team was 14 for 16 from the line to that point in the game.
Every conference should have their final at one of the school's arenas. Makes for a better atmosphere than playing in some random city with maybe a 1/4 capacity crowd.
@@H0LLOW_PRIV NFL is professional and it's ALL ABOUT THE MONEY. This is college BB with student athletes (at least for some schools). Money ruins everything.
@@TheTuckster123 They should always play on a home court. Give the regular season more meaning, not less. What's even the point of winning your conference's regular season championship if you can just get a 2-4 seed and have basically the same path you'd have as a 1 seed?
The 1st seeded Owls of Kennesaw State will enter the 2023 NCAA Tournament as champions of the Atlantic Sun Conference with a 67-66 victory over the Liberty Flames.
That was one of the most anti climatic ways to end a game. If you drive to the basket in college hoops and chuck up a bad shot 95% of the time you’ll get the foul call
If it's a foul in the 1st minute of the game, it should still be a foul in the last minute. Dude got hacked. Clear as crystal. Stop bitching about nothing...
It wasn't a bad shot. He made it most of the way to the basket on a strong drive and was elevating to take a good shot from well inside the key. The defender (who did well to stay close), instead of contesting the shot without fouling, had his wrist draped over the shooter's shooting arm just past the elbow. I don't like games decided on ticky-tack fouls either but this foul had to be called.
@@TheTuckster123 a lot of small conference tournaments play on home floors. A lot of small schools make runs in March, too. You sound like you're a lotta fun to be around....
Some conferences lay out things differently than others. Smaller ones tend to usually do more home court advantages for the higher seed while others may do a neutral site.
@@whatlol_e That would be crazy. Imagine a Big Ten Championship being held at Michigan, Purdue, or Indiana. That would be pretty sick. ACC Title Game at Cameron Indoor Stadium would be interesting to see also.
