It may be something weird, but kids will also say some dumb shit to not get into trouble themselves. If this guy knows the young girl, just because the kids in his car or he's seen with a kid. Doesn't automatically insinuate something bad as police ALWAYS try an do, it's not like she had on a pair of his pants. An he was found pantless, trying to rationalize this same story.
