Questions from Matt Fisher (MSG) to Matt Kendrick (GG CEO) 2:15 “Let's back up to the beginning, what’s your background and how did you get into the space?” 8:33 “So Garrett brought in the editor/camera guys?” 9:10 “So GoodGood launches, how do you find, I guess Bubbie was the next add, right?” 10:22 “So with the, they moved to Dallas, they’re in the house, how is that? You pay for the house, they come… it’s all covered by you? How does that work?” 11:56 “So how do you meet… how does Grant come into the picture here? 14:17 “How do these trips work out? How do they get planned and executed? Can you break this down for us?” 17:05 “How far in advance are you, let’s say from shooting to airing the video?” 17:45 “Who is coming up with all the video ideas?” 18:21 “Who decides who’s a part of the team? There are a couple of vacancies, so who picks the talent there?” 20:41 “How is GoodGood structured?” 21:45 “So when a guy like Micah leaves, it creates more of an issue because he has equity?” 22:46 “So Micah leaves and that came as a shock to a lot of people. But I think a lot of people saw it coming based on how it started. If you rewind enough, it was GM Golf, Garrett and Micah, and then there was really no Micah until GoodGood, it was really only until GoodGood started when Micah was involved.” 23:43 “So Micah leaves, he is doing pro, married. The shocker is Grant leaves, and it didn’t seem like anyone saw that coming especially with how he was pretty tied in with Garrett on GM golf and has his own channel, what happened Matt?” 26:32 “What exactly is the “kitchen sink”?” 28:23 “You may not answer this, but I have to ask it, does it have anything to do with LIV golf? 29:32 “How do you deal with the fact that you bring guys into the GoodGood family, you give them a platform, they build their channel up to a substantial level, an then they bolt. What do you do with that?” 32:14 “Is there a non-compete and what does that look like?” 32:47 “Does GoodGood own any piece of their personal channel or does it have any stake at all?” 33:53 “These guys own a percentage of the company; I am guessing it’s not all equal percentages? Are they paid on a percentage of revenue for whatever it generates per month or is there a salary they are receiving? How does that work?” 35:19 “How do you handle the fact that a company wants to sponsor Garrett for example, right, GM Golf. Let’s say a sponsor wants to work with Garrett and not GoodGood, how does that play into the whole situation?” 38:01 “Do the guys own a piece of all your arms - Apparel? Product?” 38:29 “With the apparel, how big is that piece of the business outside of RU-vid? Give me a pie chart of this.” 39:58 “How do you get paid? How are you making your money?” 41:50 General conversation 46:55 “Who is on the shortlist to fill in for Grant? I guess you need a Grant and a Micah fill-in for next week.” 47:30 “What big names do you have coming to the channel?” 50:20 GoodGood Putter talk 54:25 “How fast do these putters sell out?” 55:40 “What is your prediction in terms of the future of golf in the next 5 years? What do you see there? 58:32 “Do you think there is going to be a RU-vidr golf tour or league? 1:01:09 “Are there going to be, is there plans to add a girl to the GoodGood group? Is that something you are looking into?” 1:02:01 “Would you do a GoodGood female channel? Who would be on that channel?”

I just owe you a table. And if one of my employees gets a job offer at the furniture store across town that pays more and is closer to where they live and people around town start gossiping an speculating about how I'm a terrible boss and my employees must be toxic and a bunch of other untrue guesses, they owe ME an apology, not the other way around.

@@crdude806 respectfully i disagree. you use the term "mate" so I'll assume you are in the UK and use any team from the Premier league as an example. Do any of those teams hold press conferences to tell you how they are spending their money received from the fans? Do any musical artists disclose this information? Do you tell your boss how you are spending the money they pay you? With RU-vid we simply watch, like and subscribe and the RU-vidrs put in all the work and earn a living. They don't owe us any explanations at all. If we don't like what they're doing then we unsubscribe or if we're fans then on we go and look forward to new content. IMO, Micah wasn't one of their big stars. Good Good isn't like watching the pro's, it's like watching a family. It's more of a sitcom (not the best analogy), but there are characters and you tune in for the people more than the skill. Micah was great, don't get me wrong, but his personality wasn't in the top 3. I think the Good Good Cup week proved that, as Kwon literally filled perfectly for Micah. But Grant...damn. Grant was a central character. Gonna be REAL hard to replace him. But they all knew that, and that's why they "threw the kitchen sink" at him. There's a reason they weren't saying that about Micah.

Is there any beef, is it Grants Wife, does grant not like being number 2 to Kwon? Come on now, most of us are men, and we can’t gossip like little girls about this. Stopped listening around the 42 minute mark when Matt (the CEO) tried painting a picture that he just works for free because he's living a dream and made good investments in a prior life. While that may be factually true, the reason he doens't take a paycheck is because he likely has a heavy majority stake in the company's equity and is playing the long game. And you know what.. that's smart and there's nothing wrong with it, but don't talk to a large audience like you're the smartest person in the room and we're all just going to eat up the story that you're doing this out of the kindness of your heart. Wishing the Good Good guys, Micah, and Grant all the best moving forward. They all deserve great things for their hard work.

Kind of a misleading for him to say that when he even talks about distributions. May not be taking a salary but taking a fat distribution annually is still getting paid.
@Malace629
@Malace629 Год назад
@@WhiteKong exactly. He could have easily just said "yeah I don't take a paycheck because I have plenty of capital from my prior investments and dont need it. I'm in this for the long haul because I love what I do and I own a majority stake in the company as the founder and original financer".
@WhiteKong
@WhiteKong Год назад
@@Malace629 That would still be misleading. I’ve seen 100’s of business tax returns and it is pretty normal for owners to take an annual distribution of net profits. While he technically isn’t getting a monthly salary he is still getting paid substantially (especially if he’s the majority owner) through those distributions each year.

Baffles me that some don't seem to comprehend this. No different than us normal guys real world....some like the flexibility and risk:reward of being an entrepreneur, your own boss reaping all of your hard work. First of all, great interview Matt (Mr Short Game) !! Matt Kendrick seems to be quite an opportunist and a savvy business man. From this interview it appears he genuinely cares deeply for his Good Good brand and more so for the guys he's in business with (Garrett and the guys). This was a very smart PR move to come onto this podcast to air the Good Good side of the story. Well done Gents
@thesetzers8952

I 100% gurantee he was 40-49% stake in good good since inception, Micah left an This guy bought his stake and is majority stake now. So many corporate big wig decisions going down, expenses going through the roof and staff ballooning. I suspect that might be a good (at least partial) reason Grant left, if that is true. Also, his answer about not taking a check is EXTREMELY misleading and he is insanely smart to have said and done it that way. How could he be the bad guy, he doesn't even get a paycheck. The trick is he is absolutely making money from GG and his stake is growing by the minute, he just doesn't get a paycheck. Lots of CEOs say/do that for PR. Many will say, "well, they say I have to get a paycheck so I just get paid $0.01. Meanwhile they are getting paid, just not via ther term of a paycheck and make WAY more money (or maybe wealth may be more accurate) than you would even guess.

@Matt I guess we will all find out on January 3rd. I'm guessing they are partnering with a big name in golf like Taylormade or Cobra and he is getting sponsorship from a competing company but if they were all working towards this goal why would he back out when it's attainable? Time with family doesn't make sense because they only work 1 week a month and was still able to do whatever he wanted on his own channel.

@@only_son5040 he would back out here because they would have to cut ties with all their sponsorships and essentially sell themselves to corporate good good where he would take, let’s say 10% profit margin, but Kendrick takes 50%. Grants decision allows himself the freedom he’s always wanted from the start. You are absolutely right though, this is almost guaranteed that it’s a massive partnership coming. Grant branching off on his own brings more personal potential, he’s gained serious business knowledge while in good good, can use that for growing his own brand if he ever wanted.

JMO, Grant is a Christian and a family man. He doesn't want to spend 1-2 weeks of every month away from his bride to be, he's obviously nuts about her. Further, if you've watched a lot of his GM video appearances, he's made it plain many times that he wanted to go back to Florida. It's obvious he loves his parents dearly, and they're getting up there in age. On top of that, most of the Good Good guys live like they're in a college dorm, and Grant's a quiet family guy. That would create a divide with Garrett, that would only grow with time.
