Well said 👏🏽🤛🏽 The only player to give 💯% every time he stepped on the pitch for us. Thank you Miggy.....go secure your family for life. You deserve it 🤛🏽❤️
This is the longest Miggy has been at any one club at senior level, and after five years here at Newcastle he leaves knowing he couldn’t have done any more than what he did? Playing in the Champions League and EFL cup final, I just wish he could’ve left with a winners medal, but he’ll go with the appreciation of the Newcastle fan-base, and wish him luck on this next chapter?
Newcastle hopefully doing shrewd business. I'm also keeping an eye on Man Utd's PSR situation. They are over 1 Billion quid in debt...over 300 million of that is outstanding transfer fees. Surely they must be breaching PSR rules? If they aren't held accountable in some way serious questions need to be asked....One rule for the 'Big 6' as usual.
PSR doesn’t look at debt, only incoming and outgoings. Providing you aren’t getting rinced on debt repayments it’s not a big deal for them. They also have an income of £700m+ so have a lot more leeway than us
@@andrewcharlton6080 I appreciate the info. The general consensus is that Man Utd / Ratcliffe will be unable to spend big because of their debt and PSR rules. No doubt they'll be immune from any potential penalties though and will spend regardless.
@@J.Carter69 Their wage bill is enormous plus the Glazers take money out to cover their loan so it’s not as healthy as it should be for them. They’ve also overspent on some players in the last 3-4 years that are now worth a fraction of that purchase price (Anthony, Sancho, Casemiro and even Maguire). Until they have clear out and lower their wage bill they’ll not be able to spend huge amounts but can still spend.
Are you taking the piss?! The sale of Almiron is to help clear PSR! How much did we have to raise to clear it? Minteh £33m & Anderson £35m. Surely that clears any worry 🤷
I will always remember Miggy with fondness, some of his goals were brilliant during his purple patch, its a real pity he didn't carry that on, he was a very hard worker player and he loved the fan's, when he leaves we should all wish him and his family all the best in the future 💜
@@GeordieMarv Doesn’t really matter either way is correct,a lot of people from the city have never heard of it,I wish it was used more often, can you remember the club at Arthur’s Hill,I thinks it’s important we keep these names alive👍🏻
Good luck to the guy. Always gave 100% for the shirt, and kept his head up even when things weren’t going too well for him. The smile on his face when he scored - especially during that purple patch - was brilliant. A great servant. Definitely an honorary Geordie !
As fans, we scream as long as players give their all on the pitch we are happy with that ,Miggy did that every time for me ,scored some great goals as well , farewell Miggy thanks for the memories
@@peternealon430 Must be more than that. We got £68 million for Minteh and Anderson, and still needed another £12 million from the Mancs for Ashworth. It actually sucks that the PIF are worth £700+ BILLION, but they can't get any of it into the club. In no other walk of life would an owner be forbidden from putting cash into their own business to clear debts or buy assets.
Why are NUFC not exercising their rights to bring Dan Ashworth and Man Utd to court for breaching the terms of his contract with NUFC??? Show them that we are not pushovers.
Praise be if we somehow manage to get rid of Almiron. But the main thing clogging up the toilet is Longstaff. No idea how we can get rid of that useless plank of wood
I dont fully believe the PSR situation...saying that, if its true people need to be axed for putting us in this situation in the first place, its not been a good look at all.
Almiron always put in a shift and a workhorse for the club, but if we are to progress we do need to upgrade in quality for that position and its best for both parties inc Almiron if he is to continue his career..
Really can’t understand the logic in this report, not the move itself but the angle of mitigating FFP/PSR The club have made some of the biggest commercial deals in the club’s history over the past 12 months, have likely had their best broadcasting and matchday revenue and they’ve just made close to £70m on two players and banked money on Ashworth The losses last season were £70m but I’d bet a sizeable amount of that was FFP/PSR exempt costs like the implementation of the digital ticketing system, the £10-15m worth of training ground upgrades, the investment in the academy and women’s team, the refits of the hospitality suites and the revamps of areas around the stadium
We’ve never been a selling club, holding onto everyone we’ve ever bought and offering stupid contracts so they never leave. Hopefully this is the start of us being brutal with our dead wood.
It's a shame, E, Anderson couldn't have stayed. Thus, miggy out. ? But it sounds as if the dates were out. Plus, the fact he dug his heels in. Gutted about E, Anderson. & Minteh, & what could have been... G/look Almiron.... Edit: Questions must be answered as to how it came to this shitshow. We're is the S.D, Keith ? Cheers for the update, mate...
How can this possible sale of Miggy still going towards this Psr bullshit?? 🤬 You said we needed to raise £60 million by yesterday, so how the hell does this go towards it too???? 🤬
It's really sad to see players go, they become part of us, but the time comes where change is needed and unfortunately due to PSR, we have to try to move players on when when we can sell. Miggy if he goes, does so with our thanks and best wishes for the future. Will always be part of our great club. PSR has to go, this cannot continue. The club have to manage their finances better than this. Look forward to hearing from Eales. As for Cashworth, whilst I do wonder how much we settled for and would have loved to see him and Man U squirm in arbitration, I am happy it is done and it helped get us through PSR. Not sure why mitigation is needed if we are done with PSR? Just to put us in a NET positive balance to carry forward?
Keith, are you able to clarify about PSR. I was of the understanding that PSR had been scrapped, voted against by the premier league clubs and a new European rules coming in. Is this true or was I dreaming. Cheers
For this season you’re correct. They are also adding the spending cap on top of the UEFA style squad cost ratio rule. The financial window that ended yesterday was still covered by PSR though Edit, I actually forgot, I think PSR and squad spend rules are running concurrently this season and then PSR is being dropped next season.
@@andrewcharlton6080 Thank you for clarifying. Is the UEFA ruling where you can spend a certain percentage of the club’s finances. I heard it was 85% if not playing in Europe and 70% in playing in Europe with the added spending cap like you say.
@@YorOasis That’s about right but it’s starts off higher than that this year (90% I think) and drops to 70% over 3 years. It’s to give teams time to adapt to the new rules
Miggy. On my old shirt. Sad to see him go but it makes sense. Never didn’t run his arse off for us. Ever. Regarding deadline: it makes no sense. Surely the spirit of the whole PSR thing would be brought into (obvious) question by a strict deadline rule. This, I think, was an issue that Forrest raised. If you are genuinely interested in clubs financial well being a deadline makes no sense. Limits are fine but lines by which you fall a second after technically are pointless. (Unless your whole point is really to punk over the other clubs outside your elite club, that is……).
Keith, I was brought up with Oor Wullie and the Broons. You remind me of Hen Broon and Soapy Souter. Nee Wonder Almiron couldn't understand Yee. Crivens ! Jings! Help Ma Boab !
You have to feel that moving almiron and replacing him with a big upgrade is the most important job the club have to do this summer. It's the main position we are really lacking.
That is one big umbrella for a bit of drizzle 😂 if Miggy does go right wing has to be priority now. We needed 1 for that position with Miggy need 2 now if he goes. Any rumours on possible replacements?
Its very clear we could not afford Tonali, and if we hadnt bought him, well it would have made no difference. Think the club gambled under fan signing pressure but its not the eay to run the club.
Wouldn't worry too much, we have new deals which were not included in income last year so we have to fill the shortfall. We now have the Adidas deal and £100m+ outgoings on our books. We've got rid of several 30 year old players. We're now in a new cycle so some of the losses will drop off. That being said we don't want to get back in a similar situation next summer so I don't think we can go too crazy.
Minteh was a youth player who never played for us and the club want to buy a CB, RW and Striker as a priority. That doesn’t mean there won’t be other deals too if the right player is available. We have a decent amount of money in this current window to spend
You are talking like the manc got one over on us, to me we cleared the psr yesterday and they realised they would have to cough up. Seems like you think we were 70m in the hole for psr, think you are way off, hope the club clarify.
Yeah I remember you saying a few times over the course of the season that he definitely would be sacked "in a few days". I'm sure you really are surprised. The rest of us understand football though and we're not surprised at all.
Aye Keith it's definitely Miggy's time to leave - he's done well for us, he's a top lad. I'm still really pissed about Minteh & especially Elliot Anderson, a bloody Geordie ffs, having to leave the club just to satisfy arbitrary rules set by the premier league.
So they would’ve have banked close to 100m. Just to make sure regarding PSR. Are you and your mates gonna to ask some proper questions. Or just nod your heads.
So by the sounds of it even with bringing in £70m in player sales plus the Ashworth money the club could still breach PSR.....sounds like total mismanagement of club finances to me
That’s how PSR works. If we bought Olise for £60m we’d spread his fee over 5 seasons. Then we’d only need to sell a player to cover the £12m before 30th June plus whatever else we were above the PSR limit
Jesus, how much do we need to make to? We've shifted over 60 million yesterday and it's still not enough. PSR is not fit due purpose, but people inside the club need bringing into about fire this absolute shambles and leaving it to the last minute. An absolute joke
