***MAKE THIS GO VIRAL*** Carl Jones (Co-executive producer of The Boondocks) recently posted a scene from The Boondocks' pilot episode on his Twitter. Link: / 1
Love the animation style. Huey and Jazmine actually have good chemistry in this version better than the other one. Huey's voice is very soothing with the piano music. Hopefully one day it gets release into the public and turn into the series.
Make it a season 5, explain some shit like Uncle Ruckus (No Relation) messed up heaven (since he already dreamt of White Heaven), reboots shit, makes the artstyle like this one, it may sound like some Ben 10 Omniverse shit but yeah I think Uncle Ruckus (No Relation) messing up with wild shit is gonna be wild
Yeah it actually doesn't look bad compared to other pilots too bad the comics strips ended though. It's a shame to I would have loved to read one right now.
NdCRants that's how season one was loool it was very close to the comic art but changed in the second season it was still good tho. Too bad the creator of the show got kicked out by media corporations and they took over his show, which is why season 4 sucked so bad 😔
NdCRants Yeah the series kind of went to shit in season 3 im still not finish with the season but some episodes are good and some are really bad.I also hate how Jazmine voice change.
@Truth-Rationale Scientist I don't trust that woman. She might be lying. She is the one that spams memes and Teen Titans Go every single day even a year after this thread was made.
This almost makes me kind of sad, in the show they sometimes dumbed Jazmine down whenever she was with Huey. Like I know she was a child so she was naive, but it almost felt like it didn't give her enough room to be an actual character besides "literal child among kids who act like adults". In this clip, her emotions give her more depth. Also Riley coming in like that was like a gut-punch, except I'm laughing.
Jazmine was never dumbed down whenever she was with Huey. In fact, she was always a counterbalance to Huey’s rational demeanor in contrast with her more wide-eyed idealism as that is one of her purposes in the Boondocks franchise as a whole. However, it is also true that unfortunately Jazmine never got to shine that much as a character in her own rights due to her role being limited along with Huey after season 1 of the original series for whatever reason as it was a shame for me personally since Jazmine was my favorite character next to Huey. I’m hoping the reboot series won’t make to same mistake twice.
JohnnyD31 I completely agree the pilot makes it seem like Huey and jasmine’s relationship would be important but in the show she was barely used and she was almost forgotten after season 1
No you word it wrong i even have to search up myself. The director say Alica got the role of Huey but she taken herself out cuz her scheduled was pack. So Regina got the role to tried out huey cuz she know all the lines she familar with.
@@deanstewart2382 it's been like the 165 time i saw this one same joke today in youtube comments. this whole "nobody:" if nobody said nothing then just don't say nobody and just make the damn joke. or repeat the same sentence we all heard in the video.
As much as I like the anime look more, the original artwork is very charming to look at. (especially in motion). Just from watching these 21 seconds, i could already tell this ep is gonna feel more like season 1. That season always had such a somber tone, mixed in with dark comedy inbetween. Don't get me wrong, season 2 and 3 were great too, but it no longer felt like the original. And then season 4 went completely off the rails.. Such a shame Aaron is no longer a part of his series..
Season 4 doesn't deserve to be discussed alongside the other seasons. Despite the tonal shift between the original three season, they all felt like they carried the same spirit and method of storytelling. Season 4 just felt like cheap laugh after cheap laugh.
@@juansanchez209: Season 4 started out okay, but very quickly dropped off a cliff. After the first episode, there were only a few scenes here and there that stuck out in my memory and felt true to the characters. But most of it was just a trainwreck. I'm sure I'm not the only person who writes it off as non-canonical.
Why would they cancel this episode though? The little romantic scene was actually cute, and could have changed the dynamics in a positive way with the episodes following. I would love to have seen Huey fighting an internal conflict between his militant mindset and his reciprocated feelings for a girl that views the world through rose-colored glasses, and his desire to protect her innocence at all costs. It would've been a masterpiece
Typically pilot episodes have budgetary differences compared to their respective end products. In this case the budget was a lot higher and the animation was done by a Japanese studio, as opposed to a korean one later on
3 days ago, the 6 minutes of the pilot has been found. It's from 2003 to 2004. Reason why because one said 2003, and one said 2004. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Dylan Ogega i was comparing Riley’s voice to cardi b’d as they are exactly alike ...if Regina is not available cardi can fill the void .. I cud less tho .. I don’t care about u , Regina or cardi b .,
I much prefer this somber theme of the show. It gives me nostalgia from the first season. There was heart. And there was usually an inner monologue from Huey at the end. But in later seasons, it was just over the top wildness and "Psych! No one learns anything."
STFU and go back to watching your fucking anime, you fucking weeaboo! God why do you losers have to be on comment section on video that aren't anime related! This isn't an anime channel, so get the fuck out of here and go spread your anime obsession cancer on anime channel only, you fucking loser!
Man, how much I really miss this show. I definitely want to see the unaired pilot episode since their designs are closer to the comic strip. I really hope Aaron McGruder releases it.
@@thehumenthing8504 he can still own the DVD but he doesn’t have the right to repub. Like I can own a marvel comic book but I don’t have to the right to publish it online for others to read (pirating)
i really ship Huey x Jazmine! out of all the couple shipping in the show they show the most intimate innocent moments and I can't wait to see how far that will grow and see them as they grow up
@@hotpocket5064 All kids literally have emotions and feelings 😂. The fuck is wrong with you? Also Jazmine & Huey are 10-11 while Riley is supposed to be like 8 or 9. You didn't have crushes on girls when you were that age?
Damn I really miss this show. I hope Aaron McGruder comes back soon... if he's done with black jesus. I'm not so sure, but that show got 2 seasons with a third one coming, so I don't know how long it'll last.
caesar was lowkey the best part of the strips but I actually read that McGruder apparently had trouble finding the right voice actor for caesar, so he decided to cast him out
@@whitejacket1421He was Hueys best friend in the comic book. He was chill asf. Shit even back then Riley didn’t have braids for a while back then, he only had braids because he grew out his hair and Grandad couldn’t tell them apart. The comic felt more like this and Season 1. It’s was chill.
I even love the color palettes it's more colorful than the actual season 1 pilot. Of course I love the anime design that The boondocks has but this seems more charming.
This is such a beautiful moment. I love the official art on the show but this feels so beautiful yet somber. It stays more true to the comic strip. I hope they release the full episode ❤️
i feel like the art style they used during season 2-4 (i don’t like 4 it’s sloppy) makes them look badass and the art style for the comic, this unreleased pilot and season 1 is keeping the tone the show was made as. i like both equally😌
@@KirbyLinkACW season 1 look nothing like Charlie Brown it all looks like samurai champloo with was one of Aaron mcgruders biggest inspirations art wise
Awwww this is so cute, so this was supposed to be the context to Jazmine's lil crush on him uh. They need to release this to the fans man I want to see anything authentic Boondocks related and this pilot seems to have a lot of heart in it.
How cool! =} BTW, I've always noticed that a good portion of the light piano bgm on Boondocks is inspired by Vince Guaraldi (Charlie Brown music) In fact, the music used here sounds really similar to the BGM used when Sally Brown is chosen to be Linus Van Pelt's wife in the Xmas play in the holiday special! 👂👀👀
Interesting. The hip-hop in the show is good, but I've always been more intrigued by the piano pieces (it's my favorite instrument), and this was the best so far. So to hear that there might be a source of inspiration, I'll have to look into that.
Just in case anyone doesn't know, this art style is specifically modeled after the original comics, the side profile is 100% exactly like the original strips, i used to collect them from my newspaper as a kid and made them into a book, i still have it somewhere
Dang, First I get news about the Boondocks Reboot getting delayed to 2022, yesterday. Now the RU-vid Algorithm brought me to video as my recommendations.
