None of the Malayalam Media reported this matter. They seem to be hand in glove with the authorities. All the present day politicians are only interested in making money for themselves and living extravagantly except a very few. The quarrel between them is who get the chance. Election is nothing but an arena for that purpose conducted at an enormous public cost.
I think rather than relying on government systems ,people in hazard prone areas should collaborate with independent organisations to put in place solid proactive warning systems
@@shajanjacob5849 Agree man. It just occured to me that it may be a possibility by leveraging the power of technology. Why can't we have some sensor based device at the peak of hills to alarm about loosening of soil or movement of soil or rocks. Signals sent to control rooms can help start evacuations or disaster control in right time.
Because of Gadgil committee report overlooked by the Govt for vote bank,which is nothing but criminal callousness,the innocent people lost their life and everything thing.Really sad .Those who are responsible should be made accountable.
Data on a routine time is okay... But when alert is red why DM not acted......... ? District administrator is responsible....... Whether new or old......... It's a disaster warning..... She overlooked it...
Only orange alert was given by IMD and GSI also given a green alert. The guy in this video is the director of a private research facility. DIstrict administration relied on IMD, which was a bad move
Like he said, the collector is a new one. As per collector, Wayanad page, she assumed charge only 6-7 days back which does not absolve her of negligence as she is the district head
The imd updation is on 24 hrs based and no red alert was given. And everyone knows that. And imd can't predict the intensity of rainfall change in hrs basis and doesn't do it. So you can't blame the district administration. And from several years mullaperiyar issues are warned by experts, y the gov and centre haven't yet done anything, then you people will say its warned but yet decommissioning is not done because of the combined conspiracy by centre+ Tn and sc. And if they given warning disclosure should be done.
Why non of them speak about Harris Malayalam who has encrorched land for the purpose money and business... most off them are workers in the tea estate... this will happen when you distrub the natural ecosystem and deforestation...
So what could have been done by the DMs or DCs? Evacuate people from their homes? People would certainly resist that saying there is nothing to worry. People tend to be careless. And politicians help them be more careless. People will make a hue and cry on being rendered homeless without reason (as disaster seems impossible until it actually happens). Awareness is essential for the less educated people on why living at foothills of mountain ranges is a big mistake. In fact cordone off such areas for people to prevent settlements.
Rather than sending to the useless district management, they could have send the information to the leading news channels... That would have been effective and they could have warned everyone within hours and made them move from the area... Pathetic lack of responsibility from the authorities....
Just read the headline that the CM said "there's no one left to be saved". So sad to think that negligence caused so many lives to perish unnecessarily.
Such a mess ...all in the govt are same irrespective of whichever party they are from ...they were sitting despite warning sent before 16hrs ...how many lives could hv been saved in these hrs but....
Instead of the usual blame game, we should learn to accept reality. The reporters have been trying to spread their own version to show the State Govt on shady side. Let's speak facts, which Govt provided this land for residential settlement should be looked into. On which criteria or basis land is allotted to people for residential or commercial purpose? Has the different Departments been doing their job with responsibility (GSI, Meteorological Department, District Collector Office etc). This applies to every region in India. The most difficult part is to relocate people because they'll be unwilling due to emotional & physical attachment to the place. It's only when such tragedies occure people understand the seriousness of the situation. It's not that easy to evacuate people forcefully because other vested interests will cause social tension. The ground reality is different. The CM & Govt has taken the right decision to build a Township for the people affected. Hope this time every department will get involved for a long time solution.
The process alert system adopted by central government and state government is laidback obsolete process. Not bothered about peoples life. Why not alert given in all kerala media channels every ten minutes. Media also waste
Vote bank politics has lead to this disaster. Next is going to be mullaperiyar. The maharaja signed the contract with a heavy heart back then, his fears are coming into reality. This shows a major flaw of democracy. Majority interest often overshadow a bigger picture under vote bank politics. Every politician is selfish. I request everyone to raise voice against the next big disaster that is going to come soon. 40 lakh people will die. Effects will be felt across India. No one even the army cant help then. Please act before it is late! Save kerala. This disaster was just a warning.
This is not the time for this sort of discussion because hindu paper has reported that alert was issued on tueday night at 1.30am when already land slide had occured so please check the hindu paper dated second August so there is no need for this sort of discussion at this point of time instead focus on relief measures and we can reduce the pain of people instead of increasing it
@@vaishnavireddy-id4yn there is no "appropriate" time to analyse root causes. I have with me IMD alert advisory downloaded from their website, which mentions orange alert on 29th. There is also mention of heavy rainfall for kerala. It is fir licsl administration to combine it with local factors and take appropriate action, which has nit happened. So never rely on partisan media for correct information.
That is the eason they have reported the correct trends in recent loksabha elections regarding utterpradhesh or Indians being exploited in Ukraine conflict because they are not chelas of any political party

I don't understand why media is bending facts. On 29th, the alert issued by imd was orange alert and landslide alert was green. The red alert was issued on 30th morning after the landslide was happened. As a malayali, I know my state and i believe in the state and district administration in their disaster response capacity. Had we received the alert on time, there would've been a task/response force set and evacuation process set in motion.
4 years ago the gadgil report had raised the alarm but government took it lightly for vote bank! Please do not try to save the state government. They are answerable to the negligence!!!!!!!
As Hume director said climate change and miniscule cloud burst is the reason for landslides in these region. Human interaction has very little to alomost none to do with this. On the other hand Gadgill report deals the issue on another level and lots of practical issues regrading his suggestions. Just because the outcome he predicted is right we can't completely root for his suggestions.
Comeon how many knows linkedin. Why these type of alert is not in media. Why you relay only like district administration. Hopeless laidback process highly lethargic officials. Orange alert was given not red. People in mundakkai was evacuated. No one predicted the disaster to have this magnitude. Alert changed to red only after landslide occured. There was news in malayalam media too. Of the meteorological officer on why couldn't they predict it. disaster.
I guess the HM had to clarify only when CM kerala said we got no prior info ,now others are coming in like HUME..possibly the state govt sees this as a danger .Thanks to the Indian Army and other organisations for providing help .
@@Manoj-ke2bc I have downloaded reports from IMD and it clearly gives orange alert advisory on the specific dates to Kerala. It also mentions 200mm rainfall on specific dates. Apparently they didn't take it seriously and are now finding out ways to deflect.
@tanveerkazi9352 pls understand we are champions in walking over rules and regulations to suit our constructions, then critize Gadgil report openly result of which we have seen in form of floods( even the church was openly criticizing it as early as 2011 ) ..yet Kerala does not learn ..we are champions in modifying and changing laws to suit our need ..now when tragedy stuck the govt along with the media will play a narrative north vs south ,center vs state and Parrot "we must unite and fight it " and so on ..they will cleaverly divert attention of people with another narrative ..human life is so cheap .. it seems people are agenda driven and selfishness thrives ...hence taken for granted..can anyone question the state openly why did their machinery fail to inform people, why were they late to react .Its typical laid back attitude of government offices ..we don't have to file a RTI for that just a visit to any state govt office is enough to gauge the overall attitude .One man's overlooking of a information causes a entire region to suffer ...and this suffering for many people will be permanent.
