Definitely keep Eskel. It's fun watching the two of you interact and he also makes some great observations. FYI: Meri says Kody "left" her long before the catfish. It was also clear, from the show, that Meri spent a LOT of time by herself. NO ONE was paying any attention to her (for whatever valid/invalid reasons they had). In the midst of this, she became an empty nester, and it was clear Kody had no sympathy for her in that situation. There was a scene where she was clearly lost, and looking for something fun to do to relieve her sadness, and Kody left to go help Robyn with the kids.

The initial reason for this meeting was for Janelle to show her plans for her house on Coyote pass. Notice how Kody & Robyn steered the conversation towards topic of Christine leaving.

All the other wives support Robyn and Kody financially. Thats why Robyn is so upset that the other wives are leaving

Skittles was a game, something like bowling. The expression means life isn't all pleasure and leisure. You two are so much fun together!

Christine’s grandfather was Rulond Allred, the leader of the AUB. The Browns had a falling out with the AUB when they decided to go public. You should watch Daughters of a cult. Christine’s mother is from that family and then they talk about her grandfathers murder (her father’s family) in it. It gives more insight to how she was raised and why she was more fearful about things.

Amanda, I love seeing you react to Sister Wives! Hi Eskel! You should react to the fight that broke up Kody and Janelle’s marriage. Eskel, if you see this, Kody and Meri were legally married until he legally divorced her to marry Robyn so he can legally adopt Robyn’s kid from her first marriage. This took place right before the catfish.

That is genius that you picked up on that first wife dynamic with Kody and Meri. I never noticed it, but in a new special, Kody said that Meri would always butt in (and probably support him) in his arguments with other wives.

Meri and Kody legally divorced in LV so that Kody could legally marry Robyn. Kody ignored Meri after that. Meri was lonely and started talking to what she thought was a man named Sam but it was a woman named Kendra who Robyn had befriended. Kody was very cruel to Meri after he spiritually married his favorite wonky donkey wife Robyn. He melted down the wedding ring Meri gave him bc he didn't want Meri to have any power over him. He's a dick.

I said it on the last video (I think it was about Christine and her kids) and I'll say it again about Janelle; She didn't have to tell them anything about Kody. They are their own people. They have eyes, ears, and a brain. They've been around him (or not been around him as the case may be). They know what his actions or lack thereof have caused them to feel. They can make their own decisions and they have a right to vent those feelings to whoever they want. If they don't feel comfortable directly confronting Kody because of his temper and propensity for throwing tantrums like a 3-year-old then they don't have to.

The two of you and a giant bottle of wine needs to happen every episode😂

Yes Meri got "catfished" by this woman who was pretending to be a man. There's rumors that Robyn had something to do with it because her friend Kendra was speaking with this person who was scamming Meri and said Meri can trust this person as well. Very shady. Now by this time, Kody has already melted down Meris ring she gave him when they got married. Meri was crushed. This happened around time Robyn came in too. It was shady AF. Meri was abandoned for 8 yrs + BEFORE the catfish Incident. Meri and Kody haven't been intimate in close 20 yrs now because they were so broken. The entire family turned against Meri after this. And Meri also was 1st wife but she was coerced by Kody to divorce him so he could legally marry Robyn. So Meri was divorce by catfish as well. Meri really deserves happiness more than anyone else in my opinion! She was shamed for decades for not bring able to have more kids too...she has 1 child and she was always reminded of it....this family is all crazy 😂

The best lesson I think that all traumatized people learn in some way or another is that the people who are not good for your life all have one thing in common... the version of you they liked best, that they are most wistful and nostalgic over, is always the version of you were *they* had the most control over you. They don't word it that way- but with no exception that is what it boils down to. Keep the people in your life who love the version of you where you have the most control over your own physical, mental, and emotional self.

It’s been insightful to hear his views on these videos since he’s a male coming from polygamy and was expected to abide to what the Order wanted and take multiple wives. I saw the episode of Escaping Polygamy where you and Kamie helped Eskel escape and I really respected his view on the fact that he did not want to put anyone through what y’all’s mom has gone through in the Order. I hope you, Eskel, Kamie, and your mom are all doing well today.

So, spoiler alert, don’t read on if you don’t want insight into why Meri got involved with a catfish and the whole Robyn “4th wife, but legal wife” stuff: If you watch from Season 1, at the beginning all three wives married Cody within a few years of each other, and none of them had any children until after they were all three were married to him. So from Jenelle‘s very first baby, they literally started their family out as a group of 4. It wasnt until over 2 decades later that a forth wife came along; a.k.a. Robyn. At that point Jenelle had already left once and returned to the family, and Meri and Kody weren’t in the best place themselves. This wasn’t told to the viewers at first, they were all pretending to be head-over-heels in love with Kody and he put on this grand show of being the perfect polygamist husband. It’s only been in recent years that the truth has come out about struggles in their individual relationships back then. But it was at that time, while Christine was pregnant with her last child, that Meri orchestrated bringing Robyn into the family. (I feel it was almost like a “gift” to Kody in the hopes of repairing their struggling relationship.) So when Robyn comes in, Meri was the first and the legal wife, Jenelle was the second, and Christine was the third. They all lived in one house. Their children were very, very close, and the 3 wives all worked. Kody did whatever the hell Kody did, lol, but he did have a nightly schedule where he equally rotated where he spent his evenings. That all changed with Robyn, or “his Diesel jeans model” as he frequently referred to her. Even before her and Kody were married, Robin required part of Kody‘s time on a regular basis. So he wasn’t just going back-and-forth between his three wives anymore, he was also sharing his time equally with this fourth person he was courting but not even married to yet. In the earlier episodes, you can see how this splitting of Kody’s time distressed Christine, and how he was starting to separate himself from his original family and was paying more attention to Robyn and her kids (again- this is well before he and Robin were even married. The writing was on the wall. For example, one of the first conflicts, the show talks about is that Kody secretly picked out Robyn’s wedding dress, while the three OG wives weren’t shown any attention or help in planning their “special day.” That was just the foreshadowing of what was to come.) Skipping ahead to the next important part that will help explain where things are at today- somewhere around season 4 or 5, Kody and Robyn came up with idea that Kody had to adopt Robyn’s kids and claimed that the only way he could do that was if Meri divorced Kody, giving up her status as legal wife and allowing Robyn to take her place. During those seasons, they all pretended like this was okay and a family decision but in recent interviews it’s come out that Meri and Kody’s relationship had gone from “poor” to pretty much “nonexistent”, and that Kody wasn’t even pretending to follow an equal-time sharing schedule with the other wives, preferring instead to spend the majority of his time at Robyn’s. By then, Robyn also had her own nanny and was being showered with gifts and attention that the other wives weren’t getting. The preferential treatment she received was palpable to the viewers, even though Kody and Robyn (and even TLC) tried their best to downplay these family dynamics. So it was this “switching” of the 4th wife into the legal wife that proved to be a huge and significant turning point for the whole family. This is really important to know when talking about what happened with Meri and the online catfish. It was after this huge shift in the power structure amongst the wives that Meri got involved with the online catfish. At this point Kody had mentioned more than once that he didn’t see himself having a “full marriage” with Meri anymore, and openly hinted that he kinda just wanted her to leave. Robyn was playing the middle-man and telling Meri to hang on, and Kody was too absorbed with Robyn’s cookie to really care either way. But once Kody found out about the catfish “affair”, that was when he became openly hostile to Meri in front of the cameras. It was his perfect excuse to explain away him pushing Meri to the side; but in reality, he had already been doing that for years and years. I’m not saying she was right in taking to another person online, even if it turned out to be a cruel trick, but I can understand how lonely she must have felt. Remember, according to the story that they tell, Meri was the one that told Kody to go dance with Robyn, which began their courtship. And she’s the one wife who most supported this new marriage and egged it on. To watch her “gift” to Kody completely backfire must have felt pretty crappy. But I suppose that’s just another angle of the emotional abuse women suffer in plural marriages…. 🤷‍♀️😢 Anyway, it was over the next 10 seasons or whatever that it became abundantly clear just how much Kody only wanted to be with Robyn. He was still doing the bare minimum in regards to his other children and wives- at least for the cameras anyway, he was still playing the game. It’s come out now that the OG wives were also helping to cover for him on the show and pretending like things were still “okay-ish”. (Why they did this is debatable. Maybe it was only for the sake of the show which was supposed to illustrate “the good side” of polygamy; or maybe it was because the show had become the family’s primary income, really elevating their collective financial situation; or it could simply be that the OG wives each still held out hope that this was all going to work out and were adhering to their religious values by supporting their head of household. I don’t know, but they were trying to appear to the world as if things hadn’t gone completely sour. It’s only been in the recent tell-alls, after all 3 OG wives left, that we are gaining some real insight into their individual relationships with Kody during those years and just how bad it really was for the OGs). So basically, now they are trying to build on Coyote Pass but all hadn’t been well for years, Robyn was totally monopolizing Kodys time, and while she enjoyed a beautiful mansion on the property (with her name on the paperwork), the other wives lived in smaller, rented houses (Janelle even living in a trailer!) like they were red-headed stepchildren. It was obvious to anyone watching that the family was really struggling and the days of family cohesiveness were far gone- but nobody had actually left yet; and Kody was still acting like a father to his children with the OG wives, albeit half-assed at best. Then came Covid which put the final nail in the coffin. Kody and Robyn created all these outrageous rules that kept him at Robyn’s mansion for all of the pandemic, he stopped seeing any of his other kids, and wasn’t even trying to pretend like he wanted a real marriage with the 3 OG wives anymore. This is where I’m going to stop because watching what happened will explain it all far better than I can. But I shared this history of the earlier years because it adds important context to what is going on now and the things Ko-Ro are claiming in their effort to rewrite history. The only thing I forgot to mention, that I think you should know, is that Robyn left her first husband in a shit load of debt which the Brown family paid off for her- roughly $30,000 worth! It’s funny that she just so happened to enter the Brown family at the time that they were getting this huge TV deal which everyone in their religious community was well aware of. Then she becomes the favorite wife and starts isolating Kody from the others, then she becomes the legal wife, and then she manages to move herself into a literal mansion on Coyote Pass while the 3 OG wives were all living in much smaller homes that they didn’t even own, waiting for years for their turn to get the go-ahead from Kody to start building their own homes on the property… which never came 🤨🙄. So anyway, I explain this to say that I think her motivations for joining the family were mostly financial in nature. Kody‘s motivation was purely lust and ego. He saw Robyn as his “trophy wife” and she referred to him as “her best client”. 🤨. Client. Absorb that. And now that Kody successfully chased off the other wives, they are left with just one another. This is the one thing I think Robin didn’t actually plan for. I fully believe that she didn’t want to be the only wife, I think she wanted to be the favorite wife. There’s a big difference! 😂 I can only hope that TLC decides to drop them from the show so they have to go and get real jobs to support themselves. If that ever happens, I bet that shortly after we will see Ko-Ro fall apart too, with Robyn as the newest, but legal wife, being the only one of his wives to walk away with half of everything. Sorry this grew way too long, but I needed to re-hash some history to explain why Meri’s catfishig thing wasn’t a sign of disloyalty to Kody- it was her starting to wake up and finally realize that she deserved so much more than what she was getting from him.

Off topic. I watched some other videos of yours. My father is an abusive alcoholic narcissist. My mother is codependent, bpd, with ocd. My mother threw me to the wolves for her benefit. I moved out from them at 17. I'm 52 now. Did talk therapy. Now I'm doing emdr therapy. I have PTSD and the emdr has been helpful to me. Wish I did this decades ago. You may want to check it out. You are doing so great in your healing. Another option may help you. Thanks for sharing and helping to normalize speaking out about abuse.
