I love seeing this blast from the past and more VGC! And also, that montage at the end was _baffling._ I have never seen commentators who know less about the game they're watching and I've watched a Smash event where they got people who literally don't play the game to commentate a round as a joke.
@theendersmirk5851
@theendersmirk5851 2 года назад
The real issue is they clearly think they're being smart. If they had this little of an idea, but had a more upbeat tone to it, you could believe they're memeing, and were selected exclusively for lack of knowledge as a joke. Issue is, they seem to be legitimately under the impression their comments were serious.

Excellent retrospective on the tournament and the 2012 format for both newer and older players alike. What really sets this video apart for me is despite the success you achieved with the team, you've clearly put thought into how it could be improved in a modern context, and more importantly how it affected your building and play habits down the line. Amazing job by both yourself and the editors, really enjoyable.

In case you’re curious, the meteor mash at 17:57 actually was a critical hit (not that it mattered) However, the commentators seem to have magical prediction ability because the text they react to saying “ooh, a critical!” Actually says “it’s super effective” The critical hit text doesn’t come out until after that, (ironically) right where the editing says “it was NOT a critical hit”
