A BIG thank you for acknowledging that exercise sucks! THANK YOU! I found a most reason myself to start doing exercise: to fit in a cosplay costume. Although some part of me says I'll do a mess at sustaining a regular fitness routine for a long time, luckily the cosplaying is stronger than the negative thinking, so it overrides whatever the expectation (and whatever the outcome). What I also found helpful is reversal psychology: I spend most of the day lazying out so that by the evening I'm dying to move.

If it works for you, that's great! Using your passion for cosplaying is a great motivator!

Same, they need to make gyms for people who hate exercise and allow no exercise lovers in to discourage us further! 🤣

I've lost over 40 lbs. since I started exercising. That's SUPPOSED to be a big accomplishment, but the scale being the only metric of progress isn't enough to make me feel good about it or see any significant change in my appearance.

About halfway through when you said to find a really specific personal reason to start working out. Mental health. It kind of just hit me. Yes, that's exactly why I need to start actually moving. I'm sick of sleeping until two in the afternoon, being sore constantly, just feeling how out of shape I am overall. I also want to loose weight. I started two antidepressants that kind of killed my appetite so I lost about thirty pounds, but I could probably loose another twenty or thirty and look great. Even if I lost that weight, I'd probably still hate the why I look, because of mental health. If I started working out I'd feel better mentally and just see everything better

I made it halfway through the video before I decided to pause and reply. My comment is just a huge rambling mess, sorry.

Thanks for watching! That's a great reason and exercise can be a great part of mental health treatment. I wish you a successful journey!

Modern people are so lazy, back in the day (way back) we had to get off our asses to hunt if we wanted to eat, that was our exercise right there, exercise to live and survive for christ sake!

Thank you so much for this video! Exercise definitely sucks. But I am going to do it because my kids need me to be around for as long as possible, so I need a healthy heart.

5:20-7:49 Thank you so much for sharing every aspect of this video but you shared about self-expression and not being worried about what others think. You made sure to help the depressed and others with negative self-talk to combat self-sabotage... to fight through until you do what you need or want to do. Very well said. You have raised my spirit.

I appreciate this video because exercise does suck! I also would like to be able to lift heavier things in order to be more independent.

Personally, for me tabata is best cardio. You walk/ warm up for five minutes, then you sprint for 20 second and rest 10. You do that 8 rounds the absolute fastest you can go. I love how short it is and it has produced the best results cardio- wise for me. It's perfect for those more interested in speed, rather than endurance. Also, I think fitness grows on you. Whenever I finish a tough work out I will so accomplish and empowered. Plus, I get a nice lil rush of endorphins (:

That sounds really interesting! I agree, the more you exercise, the more you start to look forward to it, but I found that my high expectations for the experience made it hard for me to keep up with a routine in the beginning. Thanks for watching!

I always knew exercise sucked, ever since elementary school. Even then gym was a tortuous class. As an adult, I see no point of working out. Changing the way my body looks, would make me take my mirrors down. I know a man should be "strong" but I'm not the aggressive type.
@TheGrownUpMillennial

Different strokes for different folks :) For me, exercise isn't really about changing the way my body looks or fulfilling a gender thing, but if you're healthy and happy without a regular work out, then it's all good!

This didn't contribute anything to make me want to love or exercise more. I don't want to exercise, I HAVE to exercise to be a better person. And it's not fair since I have to work harder at losing weight while it's easier for others, but I am a loser so no one cares. Instead of looking at it as something beneficial, I admit to myself that it is torture and I do the most intense exercise I can possibly do just to punish myself. I don't care if I break a leg, bleed, or die. I hate exercise and never will come to love it. But I do it to punish the pathetic being that I am.

Sounds like you need therapy more than exercise
@oblivious108
@oblivious108 2 года назад
@@hollyc.691 Therapy will not fix me either. The only one who can save me... is me. And if I have to endure pain to do it... then so be it. But please, dont try to convince others that exercise is meant for fun or enjoyment. Benefits? Fine. But it doesnt change the fact I still have to feel pain no matter what exercise I take.

thanks for sharing. I love excercise but this is the method for anything a person is trying to accomplish that is hard for that person. Thanks.

Brilliant video. I hate exercise but I've got to start doing it as the dr told me to lose weight which I have but no inches are coming off. Plus I'm sooo unfit. My PE teachers were always nasty to me and made me hate sport. I've been revelling in the fact I don't have to do it anymore for the last 20 yrs lol but yeah, I am never gonna be a runner but I may be a walker.

At 0:04, sitting outside my gym talking about how I hate to exercise, Shouldn't you be at the ice cream parlor or in front of your T.V. eating pop corn talking about this? 🙄

You know why people hate exercise? It's because it's boring. That's the whole reason. If was fun, people would do it. People will basically do anything if it's fun. Take that small bit of information and run with it 😂.
