Star Trek Online Art Director Thomas Marrone recently showed off screenshots of the revamped Exeter class, so let's take a look and compare it to the original that is still currently in the game.

The revamp looks even better than I'd imagined. IIRC, back when the Vesper and Excalibur revamps came out, Thomas suggested he wanted to revamp _all_ the launch-era models at some point, but given how long its been between then and now, and with the other stuff supposedly happening with Cryptic at the moment, I'm not getting my hopes up too much. The Ushaan variant of the Saber and the Horizon variant of the Olympic in particular are designs I'd be fascinated to see what could be done with a reimagining.

I always did like the Exeter, I do wish they had a regular T6. My only gripe, and it's more of just a personal aesthetic taste, the nacelles look a little too close together. Still, glad to see it, and look forward to flying it.

You can use the Exeter skin on the T6 Constitutions (Legendary MW Light Cruiser and Temporal Light Cruiser)

@@Stu1701 What I mean by 'regular' is one you can just buy standalone in the CStore. Legendary packs are way outside my budget, and I'm not a fan of blowing money or EC on lockboxes :)

It looks very good but I can't see myself ever not using the TMP refit model. This ship needs a regular T6 zen store ship that isn't part of an expensive bundle or in a lock box.

This looks absolutely gorgeous. Can't wait to see it in person! I really wish Thomas would distille a Miranda-class analogue based off of the Exeter-class. It's great seeing these ships get justice finally done, but no Miranda equivalent. Miranda and Connie kinda just go hand and hand in my mind. Can hope anyways! As for the Tier+, isn't the Venture-class skin for the Galaxy, a part of that group? That's another class skin that seriously needs a remaster. Exeter and Venture were my go-to's back in early STO. And I still love both to this day.

The classic cruiser pattern is criminally underutilized outside of event, box, and overpriced/overfeatured bundle versions.

Unlikely to happen, T6 ships are usually STO-exclusive modern versions of existing canon ships. Considering the Exeter is already an STO-exclusive modern version of an existing canon ship, the already existing pair of T6 ships that can use the Exeter skin are likely to be the only ones in the foreseeable future.

i usually despise the 25c B/W style hull materials on ships, but this Exeter revamp does not look bad at all. though, i can't wait to see what it looks like with a clean hull.

A Galaxy Project style Constitution Class... Now that would be interesting to see. Or maybe not, given that the Freedom Class is basically a Galaxy Class Project version of a Saladin Class... Ah well, at least the Exeter will have a nice look, allowing me to make a Pseudo Constitution III on either the Temporal Connie or the Legendary Connie and not have it look weird with that Saucer. Heck, I might even fly a straight up full Exeter it looks just that good. I do wish a non-lock box and non-legendary T6 version of the Connie would be added to the C-store, echoing what others are saying. There's really not much reason anymore not to.

I've always been a fan of the classic type 6 fleet, but yeaah these remasters are just so good, especially for the type 6/odyssey fleet edit: 6:45 iirc i think those were the doors for danubes/larger shuttles? could be mistaken though

I looked it up, they're called Multi-Phasic Radiator Baffles. No idea what they do, but that's the name they have on the Enterprise-F schematic that Thomas made a while back for S3 of Picard that Dave Blass released.

To me, the oldschool Constitution just looks so plain. I got into Trek with TNG and am used to there being more lines, glowing lights, and textures on the hull, so I usually used one of the more modern skins for it if they're available. The Exeter was one of the alt skins I liked for it and the revamp enhances it.

Great visual revamp all around. Except for the still far too narrow neck dorsal. Why can't any redesign of the classic Connie pattern get that right? All it needs is a thicker cosmetic option for that part so it actually looks useful instead of just a massive structural weak spot. Like on the Excalibur model, but better fitting for the rounded secondary hull.

Despite its age at this point, I still think that's one of the most fun ships in the game. It has a surprisingly versatile bridge officer set up.

It won't. The Exeter can only be used on the original/TMP Constitutions. So that's the T2 version the skin comes from, the Temporal Light Cruiser, and the Legendary MW Light Cruiser. Then Discovery and Kelvin Constitutions won't be able to use it for the same reason they can't use the TOS or TMP skins: they're top big.

Hey Stu! First time commenting on yours videos. Since this video is covering the topic of revamps, do you think STO is going to revamp the Jupiter Carrier? Or do you think not enough people care about it? Personally, I’d love to see it with the Type 7A hull material.

I wouldn't say it'll never happen, but I doubt revamping the Jupiter is high on their priority list. Part of the reason ships like the Shi'Kahr, Exeter, Excalibur, and Vesper have gotten revamps is because they're skins for lower tier ships, so a lot of new players tend to see these ships early on, so they kinda give a first impression to newer players. The Jupiter is a T6 C-store ship, most new F2P players won't see it on their own, and it's not exactly a popular ship to begin with, so as I said, I doubt it'll happen for Jupiter any time soon.

Ah! Makes sense. Still, the Jupiter is one of the main ships I play with a dedicated carrier build. And with such limited varieties of hull and window material, I find myself not flying it as often because of how… MEH, it looks. That being said, I completely understand why ships like the Shi’Kahr, and the other Constitution-Class variants get priority over C-Store ships like the Jupiter, and even the older Fed Intel Ships.

And yes. The Jupiter is not a great ship. I’d rather have the Awhanee Command Carrier, or the Legendary Constitution Temporal Flight Deck Carrier. Or, literally ANY other carrier that is NOT the Jupiter.

Ahwahnee is pretty easy to get, it's just a C-store ship. Though I know everyone's money situation is different. The Event Campaign is always a good option too, just gotta keep playing the events. And with the changes made this this year's, you'll be able to get all three prized, so you could get the Legendary Constitution MW Flight Deck Carrier (the promo ship version) and the Ahwahnee with one of the two cstore coupons you'd get.

5th, actually. TOS got revamped during Agents of Yesterday. TMP some time after that. Then Excalibur and Vesper a year or two ago (I forgot exactly how long ago). Exeter is the last one in the original Constitution family to get revamped.

I don't know if I'd go that far, but I do really like the really Exeter and the novelty of having a Constitution-like ship that fits into Star Trek Online design language. It's way better than the Constitution III, though!

Like past revamps, its safe to say this will be a free update to an existing ship. So as long as you own the T2 Exeter or the Legendary TOS Constitution, you'll have access to it when it goes live.
