I forget exactly how many characters i have in STO, i do know that ive reclaimed that phenix token on half of them... And its still sitting in the bank. Why? Because there arent any Phoenix box ships that i want. Id rather be able to conver them all into upgrade tokens. But thr deves saw fit to prevent that. Ao the useless tokens just sit in the bank of my characters.
Hey STU, how does one get more R&D Research Lab people to use the other school's? I went to the Exchange, and bought someone because it didn't give me an accurate description, but i wasn't able to use her in the R&D part. So i basically wasted 1,000,000 credits on a purple useless Scientist.
As for a full carrier thing, maybe something like the juggernought arrays, a Scramble all pilots/craft that launches a second wave of all your bays for a set time like 30 secs or 1 min and adjust cooldown for balancing.
For the people who are griping about the gambling of opening boxes. Well it is like this. This game is F2P. The people who buy the keys keep it running. If everyone stopped buying them then the STO Universe dies. We do not want that. So maybe if you are nice someone may give one to you. I have done and seen people give a nice ship away for no reason.
Good call with the Valdore and the shield console.Didnt noticed you could use her now on other ships as well. Finally this Ship has become more of use then just cosmetics.
A ship you get purely because you like the look of it or because it fits a cosmetic theme you're going for. Comes from the term Space Barbie, which is commonly used by the player-base when talking about the look of their ships or characters.
I wouldn't mind trying this though getting the fleet marks to buy the parts is going to labor intensive. Also couldn't find the temporal cruiser in the zen store.
I assume the crafting system is irrelevant except for Isomags? I made several hundred million EC selling those special turn consoles back when they were the best in slot for engineering consoles. Barely covered the cost of buying the doffs before the consoles became obsolete. I have so many of the ultimate tech upgrades and the Phoenix upgrades stockpiled I will probably never need to buy another upgrade.
A little rambly and long winded, but that's what this game does to us. Heheh. Great info! Thank you sir for covering this for our newer players. I always watch to see if I find a nugget I missed.
I definitely appreciate your videos, but as a veteran STO player I gotta say you misled your viewers a teeny little bit by diminishing the value of Rarity of items. It's more than just an extra trait mod. It actually impacts the stats on its own. (I get you were sort of simplifying it) For consoles, a 1 level increase in rarity is equivalent to 1 Mk level higher than the same item rarity below it. Ex. Phaser Relay Mk X Very Rare is 26.2%, while the Mk XI Rare is 26.2%, and the Mk XII Uncommon is also 26.2%. By that same logic, you need to level a lower rarity one Mk higher to equal the buff of the rarity above it. For energy type mods, it goes up +1.87% reach MK rank or each rarity. This means a higher rarity permits a higher cap for how big the buff can get. The final jump from Mk XV Very Rare to Ultra Rare and Epic appears to be be even more significant. At least when weapons are concerned. It pretty set for everything else. I'll have to do more testing to be sure. The math on these goes from simple to nuts.
It looks OK, I just wish all these 32c ships had an animation of the pieces moving when they change mode or enter combat then it would make a bit if sense with the unattached bits
