Sounds great. When the flap is open, it's essentially a single exhaust (no exhaust comes out the rear right, only the left)? And the stock dual exhaust when the flap is closed? (Nevermind, I confirmed this from your comment on another video. Thank you)
Hard to say, I totaled the car a while after this video. The design of this valve is the same as most OEMs use so finding a replacement motor wouldn't be tough if it failed. I wouldn't have any issue recommending this system today.
I did look at Varax mufflers briefly but they don't offer a single inlet dual outlet. Sometimes the best solutions are the tried and true ones. Cheap, effective and reliable.
What other mods does your exhaust have? I made something similar on my 12 s60 T6. I welded a bypass tube directly to the tip but without the valve. I am very disappointed, the noise didn’t get louder. Very strange to me... Before I did the same on a 06 S40 2.4i, it has an amazing sound.
I want to modify the XC60 T6 exhaust and it looks like beside adding a cut off Valve before the muffler I have to get rid off 2 in 1 resonator but...drone can be frustrating
@@acidtoxin oh you're not kidding. The exhaust I had on this car droned really bad. The stock exhaust is actually fairly restrictive. Right after the downpipe it splits into two 1-1/4" tubes, resonator then 2.5" pipe into the muffler. I think you could probably get away without an actual resonator and just build in a quarter wave resonator (heimholz) and a decent muffler.
@@GTurbski actually, just looked at my cut out and it seems to be falling off and the hangers on the cat rusted away 😂😅 what exhaust system would you recommend? Lol
@@GTurbski I’ll check out elevate. Yeah lmao, it’s been on there for 70k miles haven’t really looked at it until an hour ago. Thanks for the recommendation
I’m looking about doing the same should I put the cutout before the cats for better sound or after so it doesn’t mess with the o2 sensor? What did you do?
