In this video, we replace the waterlock or water trap from the original Volvo unit with a Vetus LP45 after noticing rust marks in the bilge of our boat. Our engine is a Volvo MD2030.

Great video! On my Bavaria 38 (2004) with MD2030, I’m doing exactly this right now. It’s been 9 months since you posted. How has it gone? Are there any postscript tips?

Thanks for your comments - the engine and new exhaust have run great ever since we made this change. No signs of rust anywhere now and we had the hull polished a few months after this - the exhaust outlet is still as clean as the day they did the hull.

Probably should just add that i have fixed it to the bulkhead with some shock cord - it doesn't really move but i did finish the job off.
