When I had cancer , I was abandoned by my "friends" as if I had a contagious disease. During my Convalescence an Elder visited ,concerned about my service and offered to put a chair and a cart outside our apartment for me."such empathy"

I was born and gave 65 years to the organization I am now free as I have faded. Even though I have committed no sin I have lost everyone in my life. I am alone as when we were waking up I lost the love of my life. If I could give some advice leave when you are young so you have time to rebuild your life so you do not get to my age all alone and scared to trust the world.

Ken came to my Hall and gave several talks, I always knew He was a genuine man. Glad Your out with a clean conscience, and apologized to those you wronged.

For 3 decades I thought that I was a weak person bc I didn't want to be in the organization anymore. But after watching videos showing elders and ministerial servants leaving, and now a former overseer, I have finally been able to be ok with leaving when I did

Glad I ignored the organizations views on higher education and got my Masters degree. 😊😊😊

When I was very sick and stuck depressed in a group home the elders were more concerned that I had a ride to get me to the meeting, they were not concerned about my illness 🤷🏾‍♀️🙄

There are so many strings attached with the Witnesses. One sister, she knew me since I was a kid and is still friends with my mom, asked if I was going to the district convention 6 months after I left the bOrg. She was so nice asking me and then when I told her honestly that I would not, she just turned back around and walked back to her car. Without a word. Those were the last words she ever spoken to me. I was honestly flabbergasted. But not surprising looking back. Kindness with strings attached and conditional love.

When they wouldn’t allow their children to play with my little daughter….I was done. I left my adulterous husband and left the state. I went to a cult deprogrammer. It’s insidious. I was d/fd at 77, April 17 2021 2 days after our 50th Wedding Anniversary. I had been discussing the things I did not ascribe to, doctrines, child abuse dates all the usual with an "Elder Friend" who then shopped me after we had agreed on confidence ,and I said I would not pass my views onto any JW. Please just leave me alone for the remainder of my life.

Being able to see people as people…. And not view them as not privileged like “us” … this was one of the first and biggest positives that my husband mentioned after leaving the org. Way to go Ken Mayo!… for still prioritizing the need to help others. No doubt, he’s done more good for others now that he is free of JW shackles. ✌🏼💙

You are 💯 correct on. I was assault and groped by a man calling himself a brother/ministerial servant. After meeting with elder serveral meeting, I advise I elder that I wanted the "brother" out of the congregation. I was told by the elder body he don't have to go anywhere. I advised them That they had 48 hrs. to handle this otherwise I would go to the authority. They told me to do what I had to do. Oh yes I did got to the law. The elders also told me and my husband to not discuss with anyone. We didn't tell anyone. When we got to court every JW in the county was in courthouse comforting to pervert and looking at me and treating me like a whore. The Judge did convict the pervert and issued protection order, so the bastard was banned from that Kingdom Hall. And the with the support of the Elder, the fool appealed the Court Decision. Which was upheld. So the Elders and entire Congregation started to hard shun me and soft shun my husband. However the pervert "brother" continue to give talk and stayed in good standings even giving Sunday talk, at the new congregation that he has to go to. However he was disfellowship some after for some other sick sin. So, when I asked the elders and the congregation why were they treating me so bad. They said you took your brother to court. I told the when the bastard appealed the case, then he to me to court. I was shunned so bad, whenever I would go use restroom at KH every "sister" would walk out of restroom. To add insult to injury these "elder" went to my husband's job and ask he did he support. My husband didn't even tell me that the "elder" we're trying to get him to turn against me. I just happen to find a piece of paper. I advised my husband if he don't support me 💯 pct. he can get the hell out of my house and my life. At that time we had been married 30 years. He said he had no intention in following "elder". So at this point I got mad, and did background check on every "elder", OMG the thing that I learned. I could write a book, and I eventually will. They marked me and my husband and to lie that we were not marked. Anyway that was in 2009. To this day they still shun me. Anyway I am in process of fading. I told my husband I don't give a damn what he do, but I also advise my husband he can get hell on but I will continue my very upper middle class life style with he money. And I also advise my husband, he will can get the hell out of he choose. Because I felt my husband betrayed me softly. I banned him for my bedroom. for past ten years. If the elders decide to troll the sight and figure out my identity and DF me I will go to the press. I know so much stuff . I can probably get good press coverage. So for the rant.

I was about 15 years old when I told my parents that the Bible saying to abstain from blood does not mean abstain from transfusions. They had no knowledge back then of the different blood types (A, B, AB, and O), so they weren’t supposed to try to mix them. But now, with modern medicine, we do know about blood types, so it isn’t dangerous to get a transfusion when necessary.

I am so happy I found your channel . You have no idea how much it means . I had been gone/ inactive for many years but never gave myself permission to research I was so afraid and I just happened to this week search on RU-vid scared to death mind you and it’s just jaw dropping the actual facts.

I was a fifth generation Jehovah’s Witness, my two sons were sixth generation. I hate nothing more than disfellowshipping teens and kicking them out! When that happened to my son for an incident that did not warrant a disfellowshipping, he woke me up and we’ve been out for over 20 years…. Leave no child behind! I may have lost my all my siblings, but I have gained all my cousins just like Ken ♥️

Really nice to hear this from a man who was inside and recognises the wrongs and has the decency to apologise - as we know advice is to ring the branch, don’t report, don’t take brother to court and you have confirmed this is the case - above the law, Jesus right hand - so sad - I wish I had never trusted this religion but as a born in, it happened. Coercive control over tolerating domestic abuse and elders judicial hearing 2 years later, was the worst experience and few years, and caused me panic attacks in my later years where situations remind me of it - makes me sad still that I just went along with it - wish things had been different - this man talks a lot of sense

Thankyou to both of you. I’m a PIMO single mum of four did a dam good raining my kids. One of my boys never got baptised and became an atheist and opened doors for me to see what really going on so grateful to him. He shouted me a trip to US he was a dancer on the cruise ships and family could have a two week cruise free I bought along another son who is now an elder with his wife both pioneer my son has Asperger’s so he will do what it takes to fit in and where the praise and love bombing will take him. My other two are wispy washy witnesses I have planted seeds with help of my A son and their Aunty who was never a witness but wants to help she will be planting seeds with her brother kids dad who repeatedly cheated on me I was encouraged to stay in marriage then he slept with my sister. He came in ten years after me I said I would take him back if he studied. Elders n the like all surrounded him supported him and I was soft shunned because I wasn’t good enough wife basically 🤮so here I faded out not a soul in JWs after near 30 years got in touch they were all pretty glad I was out so they didn’t have to feel bad. Well I faded back in the 5 year of isolation left me in hospital completely broken so I went back in I was going to be like Luke skywalker my son my r2d2 and we want to blow that F #%*&# WT ship up into a million pieces but that’s already happening as I have listened to various Utubers PIMOs in bethel really excited me and I could relax a little and concentrate Any advice I’m on the Gold Coast australia a lot of people I know leaving many homeless as I have been for the last 8 years 60 year old women cannot afford housing I’ve managed to find share housing but before I faded back in I bought a camper van so I would have a roof over my head. JWs supporting my ex was advised to with draw all money so I could not get my hands on it and to pay min support WTF so I was completely abandoned. Now my kids in soft shunn me even tho I’m back in attending meetings putting in fake report so who knows what they have been told sickens me to the very core. As I’m known as he wife who didn’t like the headship arrangement and made my husbands life hell. I want my children out and I’m gathering some wonderful support some of the local ex JWs that my kids grew up with and have stated planting seeds via my son and his ex fbi Aunty in the us. Jus a vent and looking to not stuff this up with my elder son as we’re not sure what route to take with him. My A son is atm having very gentle conversation with my daughter also apsy and her husband. I’m planting seeds with the child abuse pretended I came across it while researching something. Then few weeks later “ accidentally sent him latest September broadcast where Lett talks on hiding pediphiles. Slowly but surely I hope I’m getting there. Great interview! Thanks Ken for being candid. The best thing about waking up is getting rid of the guilt! We were POMI for many years, but once I read Crisis of Conscience I woke up. My husband did also and out two adult children did too. I’m thankful we’re all better now. I did research after reading the book and went through different stages. If you’re on the fence wether JW is a cult or not, keep doing your research and you will come to the correct conclusion. Hi wendi, loved ur video with Ken, I'm happy I'm out, I listened to Mike n kimys videos about Australia's royal commission about child abuse I thought how disgusting that got me out, I get shunned by my eldest daughter who's pregnant so il never meet my grandchild so sad, but my other daughter never wanted to know the jws thank goodness I have a close relationship with them and daughter, shunning is ver hurtful, I tried talking to my eldest before she stopped talking to me about the abuse and lies but I was called apostate and on devil's side, anyway u popped up and iv subscribed to ur channel and the bell looking forward to ur next videos, love from UK England ♥️

Did Ken meet Fred Franz? I think he lived in Alabama for a few years also before moving to Georgia. From what I hear, he was a very sweet man, wish I could have met him. I enjoyed this interview. So many things resonate with me. I am a third generation JW, fully indoctrinated until the Candace Conti case in 2009 made me start having doubts. I watched Barbara Anderson's interview...but seeing the Governing Body on the internet made me realize I was following men.... listening to Geoffrey Jackson's testimony at the ARC was the last straw. I faded about 4 years ago. The peace is wonderful, but the waking up process was challenging to say the least, as everyone knows who has gotten out. Deprogramming takes years, and the hurt takes a while to heal. Everything we believed was basically a bunch of lies. I am a Christian now, and I do not have to know all the answers. Or pretend like I do. Knowing Christ is all I need. I do believe I am going to heaven when I die. Psalms 90:10. We are all God's children.

At the memorial with a bible student and an elder cane up behind me kept punching me in my back until I turn around he started to apologise. Another did the same at an assembly. This was part of an on going attack from elders not telling me what I did wrong and they turn their wives and the congregation on me and run ahead to assembly prepare the way for me to be treated the same then covid came and separated me from them. Time for me to heal. Where was the big strong angel to protect me.

Your show is becoming a powerhouse; love the aesthetics. Regarding the formation of a cohesive group, the idea, I think, is paramount in gaining political attention. We should not be limited to cyberspace only. I have suggested on other forums, the need to engage in massive street protests, perhaps around legislative buildings etc. As with other social movement groups, the TV networks will pick it up, giving rise to greater amplification. Politicians will likely take note of the abuse within their voting districts. Excellent interview.

It is very challenging, but I am full of joy as a new follower of Christ. Yup, he is my middleman now, not the great 8. Never been a JW, nor a member of any church. I know a number of Witnesses in South Africa, all of them very nice people. Love the people, hate the Organization. I find the abbreviations fascinating. JW, WT (Watchtower), GB (Gov'ng Bdy), KH (Kingdom Hall), CO (Circuit Overseer ?), COBE ???? Wonderful channel, such a classy sympathetic lovable presenter!

I have the book “Millions Now Living Will Never Die” along with dozens of other books. I left the cult in 1979 at age 18 unbaptized. My parents stayed until their deaths in 2011 and 2017. I inherited their very large collection of WT material. I also bought many many at used book stores and on line.
