Yeah, if the first thing you show for your game is awful writing and moronic characters doing stupidly idiotic things then it doesnt bode well for the story.
didn't he say the colonel betrayed them? the colonel ordered them to setup outpost saying that planet was safe, concealing the fact there was some unknown toxin in the atmosphere.
Then why did he have it on in the first place? Why not exit the ship unmasked if the planet was already certified safe? Makes no sense. This is just bad writing.
100% realistic. Hubris and too much confidence, too much trust in our technology - nothing new. I can imagine that they did some scans, they seemed OK. People felt safe, then reality hit them. It could be anything - sudden enviroment change, new or undetectable phenomenon, otherwise safe conditions proved deadly due to new variable, technology malfunction.
Well the acting and cinematics are definately drawing me in. If the game can retain the same atmosphere and the story is compelling this is shaping to be something I'm fully interested in. Just played through all the mass effects this year. Would love another space epic with a good cinematic influence
@@htyzc EA makes the call on if a game gets dlc. Dont blame people making the game for financial decisions. Bioware was a puppet with EAs hand up its ass by 2017.
Yeah the odds are not in our favour that's for sure. I think you are most likely right though :( heres hoping though. Andromeda I have played but don't remember it. Is it worth playing to cap of mass effect series since I finished the first three? Or is it a complete waste of time?
@chiefimpartial4041 no story, characters, planets, or anything else. Personally, I think Andromeda was a mess that isn't worth it if you love the trilogy.
@@seanrunyan8928 If you'd learn to read, you could look down in there and read "pre-alpha footage, captured on ps5". Seriously, what is it with people these days, having NO ability to pick up on basic information. An army of zombies walking on the street phone stuck in your faces, hitting poles left and right watching flipflop videos and eating tide pods... ffs.
Loved Andromeda, first played it years after it's release though, well after the patches that fixed most issues. It's hard to top Commander Shepard but still really enjoyed it.
@@thetrashcanman7537 Andromeda is not a horrible game. It's quite a okay RPG. Ppl just are to toxic nowadays. If Andromeda wouldnt habe Mass Effect in its name, no one would have freaked out and hated the game so much.
It's sad that developers have to break off from these big companies just make to make a real game. It’s also sad that we have to wait for this to happen in order to get brand new ip's.
The usa just banned anti-compete clauses in employment contracts that previously banned people from leaving to make their own companies. We're about to get SOO many new Tripple A class games from new indie developers who've finally been let off their leashes
When big money (or rather failed bankers) entered gaming, and figured out they could milk the system, that's when gaming died. It's been a zombie for years now. The only real solution is to not accept their money anymore and look to alternate means. Plenty of games now (within various genres) have proven that it can be done. EA, UbiSoft, Bethesda's husk... we need to leave those by the wayside.
Dying of dehydration, because of cosmic diarrhea-nightmare apocalypse, damned to not be able to take the suit off in your last moments, when the stench is so bad it burns your eyes
Love the fact that its "arcs" once more, tying into the Mass Effect idea pre arrival of the reapers, like its a redo of something they never got to fulfill before.
@@OpTiKiLMassive Andromeda references, even a clip with “this is it” a line from Mass Effect, Andromeda. It looks good, but I’m also counting on BioWare for the next Mass Effect game which I bet will be good too!
@@earth2saka lol so you think motion capture is ready to go and doesn't have clean up and animation creative work before and after the capture is done? when people doesn't know the work, people make an opinion like yours, in fact some games look the same animations from other games because they use libraries and old animation assets, if there is animation creative work people are starting to notice the difference
Indeed, unless this game is coop im not sure if my partner and i will bother with it. (Fevelopers dont understand that those if us that gree up playing single player games now have partners that share the same game history, we want to do all that together now, not allot of games do it sadly.
Casey Hudson created or worked on some of the best single player games ever(BG 2, Kotor and of course Mass Effect trilogy). I wouln't count this one out just yet.
Looks cool, but yeah gotta agree that having them take off their helmets to find out the planet is toxic is pretty poor effort. Game looks interesting from the gameplay at the end. Looking forward to hearing more
Keep in mind that this is merely a cinematic rendering... not actual gameplay footage. Besides, the last bit of "gameplay" could very well be rendered as well... Don't get your hopes up, you should wait and see what happens once the game has been released.
Hmm, nice prologue. Early game play vids are ok. Nice texture but no HUD means we don't know the mechanics. Will it be like Mass Effect Andromeda? That's a good mechanics. The graphics also lack dynamic lightning for now and stuttering is visible so this is really early in Alpha I guess. I'm getting strong Mass Effect vides almost like it's Earth before Cmdr Shepard's storyline. But of course, Exodus is a new IP.
I just feel that I need to point out the important part that everyone misses in regards to removing helmets on alien worlds. You make the interns do it first or whichever crewmember is hated the most (if your interns are already dead or wisely chose to stay home away from you).
This is mass effect andromeda, but if drew karpecian bought bioware instead of EA. Im calling this now, this game will be one of the greatest games of this generation.
I read somewhere that this is the game to play while we wait for the new Mass Effect. They certainly don't seem similar. Yes, they have space in common but I think from what I've seen here that's about it. I really hope there's character customization.
EXODUS Exclusive Prologue, Wow! The game takes place so far into the future, I love it. I can't wait to play this one if we get to play it. Graphics look Amazing even the teary eyes.❤
It may or may not pay off after all of this build up. But the setting, writing, emotionally conveyed acting, sound and potential are breathtaking. Here's to hoping we don't get let down.
as much i would love to see a game like this to be thralling and captivating i know that ultimately it will never be anything like this. the reality is what you see is not what we will get
Taking your helmet off and getting sick seams pretty stupid, but it is possible to run a scan, get enough oxygen and nitrogen to breathe comfortably and have the bioscan fail to register a pathogen unrelated to the oxygen content. It is possible that something that the scan thought was inert in the atmosphere, wasn't when it touched the salt water inside the human respiratory system. So I won't bag them out just yet, but it is always odd to see a planet you can breathe on needing terraforming. If you can breathe, what's the need for terraform? Means that something on the planet has made the right amount of oxygen. That's pretty unlikely.
It looks very interesting. And very beautiful. I love the character models, too. But that line “He couldn’t have known it would be toxic…” is an immersion jammer. A stupendously advanced looking suite of technology for a mission specifically designed to find planets we could survive on but he doesn’t know if they could detect toxicity?🤔🤓
If this is half as good as Mass Effect Andromeda should have been, then I would be absolutely ecstatic! I already got the chills! Please dont suck, Exodus 🙏🙏🙏🙏
ah man, imagine being the protector of the main character in the game and be part of her story, by protect her or betray her and use her to get what she is looking for so you either save your world or destroy and start a new. that would be something new, exciting...
Goosebump but inside a warp bubble Time are linear It you think about the roswell ufo crash. They showed up pinooint sticks to our time when we began to blow up nuclear bombs.
Tough crowd in the comments. Some people just love looking for things to complain about even before it gets started… try letting a little happiness inside 🥰
sure.. but that moment is so bad it sticks out like a sore thumb.. honestly. suspending our disbelief is all and good because we know its not real. but come the f on.. you can't be an explorer and take your f helmet in a unknown environment.
@@BuuGz86 100%. I mean Mass Effect wasn't written by astronauts either but at no time during the entire trilogy was I thinking the writers were morons. And during this trailer I thought excactly that the moment they took off the helmets and the narration went " but they couldnt know the atmosphere was poisoned, or could they?"
Neat what they did with Unreal's procedural generation. When 5.3 was released, they did say that it was 'Artistic' PG. So it's cool to see that being used, although I think this was 5.4. The Prologue was definitely accurate to corporate business structure. Lots of emails and texts. And the Tinder bit at work is kinda typical. Graphics are getting better, but human movements still feel stiff to me. Head movements and such. The Unreal Engine is doing well from what I can see. It's a bit of a shame that overall story value in both games and hollywood have diminished. Hopefully people get back to real story content again at some point. Substrate, Nanite, Opal, Meta Human....hopefully they're enough people don't have to worry as much about graphics and physics and can get back to making old school games again. Interested to see where Exodus heads.
All life forms are designed for their specific planet environment. Jumping planets for humans would be suicide mission. Maybe that is why we never get visited by real Aliens, because they are way smarter than us 😂.
This feels like an A-team of effects artists lead by a director fresh out of film school. Why do we keep getting space genre games that are all style and no substance?
Practical FTL travel, multiple simultaneous terraforming efforts, cybernetic and genetic uplifting of domestic animals, but the Earth is somehow dying in a way that can't be trivially reversed? What, are the humans in this setting just bored and figure they'll do everything the hardest way imaginable just for some excitement?
Hmm.. the game looks good visually, but I'm a bit worried. I've read the foundation books by Isaac Asimov, and I'm not entirely convinced I'm going to like playing that type of scenario as a game.
Pretty nice, Mass Effect is the best game of all time to me for it brings a combination I've only seen in Bioware masterpiece A synthetic army millions of years old wipes out all intelligent life every 50 thousand years is an original story not like a zombie apocalypse or a horror game like Alien no, what made Mass Effect special is the unique story and world and off course the deep characters and world building and background where the story doesn't begin with you, the world doesn't begin with you and you're not some random dude who just given the most important mission in the galaxy (hear that skyrim?) I wish this game could deliver that and more but one concern I have is the lack of non-hostile alien species in the game which is a big part of mass effect as we got to know more cultures otherwise this game story is more like Halo 4 rather than Mass Effect
It's incredible how they insist on this stupid cliché of an astronaut opening a helmet in an alien atmosphere only to discover that it is deadly for humans.
The story is set in a far future away from a dying Earth, with people desperate to find new worlds and technology (from presumably ancient civilizations either long extinct or huskering about) to advance humanity and maintain one colony world that finally hit the jackpot out of (likely) hundreds of failed probes. I have to say... you watched this video or... just made a comment in the blind? It's two distinct trailers, a few story bits in the middle and pre-alpha footage caught on PS5 at the end.
@@aserta I'm saying there's no real gameplay or what the actual game is going to be. Might as well be an art film. My point is until they show something worth looking at, this is just fluff and sorry for being sceptical in this day and age with the state of gaming but it's hype and barely any substance nowadays.
