Hey everyone! Back in my own Scrap Mechanic Survival world again and today I keep on working on my dream factory base! I work on building a roof access, lighting, opening windows, a helipad, and a functioning scissor lift to inspect my vehicles from underneath! About Scrap Mechanic:
Scrap Mechanic is an all-new creative multiplayer sandbox game which drops you right into a world where you quite literally engineer your own adventures! Choose from the 100+ building parts you have at your disposal and create anything from crazy transforming vehicles to a house that moves. You’re even able to team up with your friends to create amazing things together: in Scrap Mechanic, you’re the master creator of anything you can imagine!
Here’s the deal: you’re a robot maintenance mechanic en route to your posting on a fully-automated agriculture planet. Your job is to take care of the worker robots as they work the land, sending the food they produce to the metropolitan planets. Thing is, close to touchdown your spacecraft loses control and crashes, but since you’ve got luck on your side (erm…), you survive! You’re stranded though, and at first glance you find that not everything’s quite as it should be. The Farmbots working the fields have gone crazy, and now there’s only one way to stay alive: using your quick thinking, your creativity and your wily knack of turning your surroundings to your advantage.

Hi Kosmo, regarding your tree/bush issues, I remember farming soil gets rid of the tile foliage when placed. Not sure if it works on trees, but if having a muddy entrance does not bother you as much as the tree itself, you can try that trick.

That doesn't work unless they changed it in a recent update. I have a farm on Mesa with a tree in the middle of it and I just kind of have to work around it.

To meet FAA regs, it needs to be a rotating cluster of 3 lights, white green, and yellow.

Rewatching this, I just thought, for your base here, you might set up a real parking area with like a marked spot for your truck (will you make a trailer for it?), a helipad for your hovertruck and so on. For MP survival, I want to suggest finding all caged farmer camps with the helicopter and marking them with beacons (you might need to get the bobcat and zamboni to cut down some trees for easier access afterwards. Might colour code them). Then farm a full field or 3 chests of each, carrots and broccoli (don´t forget to not go out of ammo). Build each of your trucks a trailer with a cage or box for the caged farmers and maybe a picking up crane on each. Get green and purple garment boxes, stock up on cotton and unbox as many clothes as possible ^^

The windows look great, minor suggestion, put them on different angles so it adds more "life" to the build, you never open windows at the same angle. :)

You should segment out the pieces under the scissor lift and use pistons to have them raise to make it flush on closed and recess to make it traversable the the lift is up!

There are wedges in survival. You don't need any dev commands or mods to get them. All you need is some two explosives blow some long staircases free from the warehouse, and hammer it to the elevator. I have done it many times in survival. Well it does take a while and it's not very accurate so I understand why people would not want to do it. The 45 degree wedge block is one of the easier pieces to get out of a warehouse.

Kosmo, you can split/duplicate your game file into 2 instances and run one modded without having to lose or affect your vanilla files, i run fant mod currently but i have my vanilla files waiting aside ready for chapter 2, you can swap between the 2 files at will

There is a mod that gets rid of the immovable shrubs can’t remember what it was called but I think it was top of the workshop sometime last year

You can just delete all the non-resource trees from the map by deleting the "foliage" resource from the game. You can see much better in the autumn zones as well

Supposedly, explosive can destroy shrubbery. I don’t know for sure, because my friend told me, but I’m to early in the game to test it.

Kosmo the lift is awesome as someone who works with these daily the look and function is spot on! I tried making one a while back but couldn’t get my geometry to line up quite right and it would hang super awesome seeing one though!

You could take the three raised parts in the bottom of the lift, and put them on a 2 length piston, so when the lift goes up, they drop down.

And tbh modding is very different to unlocking the warehouse, using the fant mod for example opens up so many opportunities for vehichles creation and factory building with working automated production pipelines. Fant mod is 100% worth playing with it adds an insane amount of stuff, more than just new items, new bots too, and is super fun.

@Kosmonaut, at 24:05 you’re removing the sections, but instead you could lower them as the lift raises 😉 That way you’d be flush when the lift is down, and have clear access to the underside of your 🛻🏎🚛(vehicles) when it’s up 😁

Really inspiring me to build a base of my own, I have no excuse to stay at the mechanic station at this point As for the mods, just get Craftbot+, I don't think anyone would complain, and you'll have a lot more variety at your disposal If I may, why are you using mugs at the tips of elevator mechanism? Do they have some sort of magical properties?

To move the shrubbery, move your game file into the map editor file and then you can move the shrubbery. WARNING be careful NOT to make your base clip with stuff P.S this might not work, its just a idea.

Nice I've got a lot of building do on my world although my assumption is that chapter 2 will need a new world, also if this world is intended as fun and you absolutely don't care about it then go ahead and mod it, if you like building have you thought about satisfactory or trying satisfactory out as a multiplayer game because I would not mind trying it out with you

I wouldn't do modded gameplay into your vanilla world. I think, if youre going to warehouse loot, do it te vanilla way, explosives and hammer it to the elevator. If you're going to mod, I would make it,it's own series.. would love to see you play fantmod. But, im here for whatever content you put out.. keep grinding bro

The controller power directly correlates to speed so if you want it to lift your truck, it has to be set at a higher speed that is unfortunately very unrealistic if you put a light object.
