Also, moonbo, johnbro made a system that I’m sure you could improve upon. It was a two stage drill, though it lacked your ingenious suspension technique, it had a section with down facing drills to break down the smaller chunks.
Yeah i would love to would love have that car to i would love to have a tutorial to build the car i would love that and i love this game to because i would love to build the car
Moonbo, before you hit up the warehouse, you'll need to defeat a Big Red. He has the keycard. You'll need at least 50 spuds for him. If Scrap Man's video is anything to go off of, you'll want at least 400-600 spuds prepared for the entire looting run. Before entering, leave at least a third of your spuds in a chest on your car. There will be a Big Red on the final floor, so keep about 50-100 spuds just for him. Shotguns will be worthless here, as the tapebots have guns that can 2-shot you, and have insane accuracy. Use a standard spud gun on them. The standard spud gun is best for every bot, while the shotgun is better at tackling the melee-oriented bots, and the gattler is best for the Big Reds and massive hordes of bots. Also, regarding your problem with bearing strength: build a massive semi truck for hauling, using only 2 bearings. I'll come up with something in creative if you need.
Yo Moonbo, upgrade your engine to lvl 5 to be more fuel efficient, for some reason it doesn't change the efficiency if its below 5, hopefully they changed it. A good reference is Scrapman's driving to the edge video. j0hnbane's saw trap video for engines below lvl 5. Q: how is the farmbot spawn going to affect your base? Since your farm is near it, I fear that they might spawn in it or near the base and wreck your stuff.
Farmbots getting in your base while all of your stuff is on the ground is bad. After a long time I got everything I needed to get the craftbot (I’m VERY new) I came back and found a haybot had broken my component kits I hate haybots
Refinerybots can take the resources when they are directly attached to a vehicle so you should make 3 more refinerybots and line them up to match your vehicle and so you won't have to replace the empty resource collector with a full one every time.
have a drive-thru that empties each collector as you drive thru it. given the speed of refinebots, park it until they empty first collector(s), then move forward slightly until next collector(s) are empty, repeat.
Last time i looked at a comment section and saw "Last time I was this early." I shook my head because people like you can't quit copy-pasting things that are so annoying!
I have a piston on a bar the back wheels are attached to, and the car naturally sits with the drill pointing up at 10-15%, and the piston bar can drive the drill right down to the ground, I adjust it manually as needed... also... a sawblade works on it too, which oddly works just as well from teh side as straight on believe it or not. Loving the vids!
That is such a cool build! I have a trailer and I put all the bearings in the center with 1 rotational bearing and 2 vertical bearings (for symmetry) and I have not had it bug out on me, however my vehicle is slower so maybe that is why. I'd get rid of the extra set of vertical bearings to cut down on the number of moving bearings and that may help. Glad to see your game is working again.
just a heads up. if they attack the cargo rack then all resources vanish. same if you try to take off large chest in water and other parts carried on shoulder.. i lost a big chest filled with veggies. "build signs at inter sections" helps navigating
I'm making a trailer based vehicle too (planning on multiple trailers for multiple jobs) But first thing I did was making sure the trailers have steering. and I have the 2 horizontal bearings on the towbar as far out as possible (1 at the vehicle 1 at the trailer) and I think that will help with the glitching
Strategy for not getting lost. Have the haybot that spawns in the no.2 room at the mechanic workshop kill you while you have 1 item in your inventory. Then you'll have a death bag marker at the mechanic station you can use as a waypoint
btw you can set beacons in the world to find your way around, just die at a location and leave a single thing in your inventory prefferably something useless, that way you always have a beacon that doesnt despawn
There’s a few ways to improve your drill truck. You could add rotors to turn the drills down so that you don’t need to lift the rear. Throwing a suspension between the trailers might help with the trailers “jumping” when you drive. And making the rear tires turn opposite of the front would give you a sharper turning radius for drilling. Just ideas 🤷♂️
it was actually your vid that got me my first drill car off the ground was super confused at first on how to play this game now I'm having a blast just looking for more ideas on how to upgrade the vehicle and for some reason mine flips all the time its a pain in the ass. Plus my drill wont stay steady when I'm trying to bust through rock, I just bounce all over the place and end up wasting a ton of time trying to realign.
I would love to see a mobile base. Probably powered by pistons, because as kan has demonstrated they have stupid amount of torque. As for the road train it seemed like the bearings were fine till you boosted the speed. Maybe an electric engine would be better suited to the locomotion of that vehicle.
Easy way to find your base every time is to have 1 item on you before you die and to never pick the bag up so you will see it on the map as a direction back home XD
A solution I've found for the bearings pulling apart is to simply add another engine and power the back wheels of each cart ( doesn't have to be the same level or power as your main car just enough to push the cart when you move
Every youtuber I watch has an awesome seed... I have a horrible seed! Behind the workshop I have water and in front of the workshop I have water too! They are big lakes that are hard to go around. I don't know if I should start another world because I already put 5 hours into the current one
Quick thing I found for helping get home. Before a big excursion, I drown myself with a piece of junk near my base. The lootbag icon seems to have no render distance, but I could be wrong.
instead of loading and unloading the containers why not just make slightly elevated platforms outside and drive up next to the platforms where the processors will be, just space them out so they empty all of your containers without moving the vehicle
How the world generates is interesting; everyone gets the "starter path to the first workshop", but beyond that it's unique to yours only. Like in mine if i continue down the "main road i pass the packing stations then head straight into a main loot warehouse. I'm bringing this up because of how your workshop generated. Trying to find cotton in mine(of which i only got in the last 2hrs of gameplay) meant i had to create a copy of it and recklessly explore until i got results... then proceeds to get lost for like 30+min only 1hr later... They really need to add a map/waypoint system for sanity sake(even if it's not revealed by default but does so when you explore, and allows you to add waypoints, resource markers etc..)
you remember that water bug that you walk under water and cant use buckets on them i do and it just happend to me today but i have exited the game and no crash! came back and it was fixed : )
The vacuum pipes should be like pipes... WHERE THERE IS T PEICES! Edit: when I first got the game and started my first survival game I did the thing you did in your speed run video from nothing to drill car in an hour, I grabbed it then foll... no I was a scared boii... I JUST REALIZED but when I was brave enough to go in that big building at the ship... I grabbed everything then ran to the mechanic station. :D
From what i see increasing weight exponentially increases fuel consumption, at high cruising speed which is why a piston powered tractor unit would be better for a long haul application. At the expense of top speed and acceleration though
It is very good build next i will try with controller seat to try make like piston arms to grap metal rods need the contener storages without use gas :)
You should go to the warehouse next episode i really wanna see what secrets it has also keep up the good work for keeping everyone entertained during this pandemic
You should have only got 1250 blocks total. You have 5 resource containers that hold 25 unrefined each and each is worth 10, so that means you do 25 times 10 times 5 which is 1250.
"Moonbo during pre-release survival" - 'Sorry guys the game wont let me play' also Moonbo 'Guess I'll show me playing during full release' "Moonbo's first video after release" 'Ok Guys I'm a little over 1 hour in and see my cool car with 2 trailers!' Me..... Where the F is the time machine he used ...
Time to set up an offloading drive-thru so you don't have to remove the resource collectors or dismantle the train. Its kind of a shame that the game can't handle chains of bearings well.
This feels like one of those old minecraft videos where the youtuber says they’ll be off farming “a bit”, cut and then return with 10000 stacks of diamond blocks xD
