Great video! Living in Turkey, it's nice to see how cost of living in Montenegro compares. You've inspired me to one day make a cost of living in Turkey video for my channel. Best wishes for your upcoming travel and I look forward to seeing more of your Turkey videos.

Greetings from Canada, your videos from Montenegro are really phenomenal. I am from Herceg Novi and I can tell you that you know my country better than I do. The information you provide is really very helpful and I thank you very much for that. If I ever decide to return to Boka Kotorska, I would definitely follow your advice in many things that you described. I wish you a happy life in beautiful Montenegro.❤

Men's haircuts are not expensive in Montenegro. They start from 5 euros and up. There is no big difference in quality, you just need to ask where and how much. Maybe in Boka Kotorska it is a bit more expensive than, say, in Bar or Ulcinj, Podgorica, etc., ... Prices are generally higher for everything starting from Budva to Boka Kotorska because people are much more voracious compared to the greater influx of foreigners. The prices where foreigners stay in large numbers are much higher, which is very bad for ordinary locals because the prices are increased for them too.
@WarrenJulieTravel

We certainly try to find the locals places and we do our best not to overpay and make it harder for a country’s citizens. Thanks for watching:)

Super helpful. Thanks 👍 Have to say even though the prices have been increasing I get the feeling it's still affordable. Would love to see a comparison video between why you did the car in one country and live in Montenegro 🇲🇪 🤔 Did you make another video following up on your residency in Turkey?
@WarrenJulieTravel
@WarrenJulieTravel 6 месяцев назад
We let the Turkey residency lapse. We bought our first home in Montenegro in 2016, we decided to use it as a home base since we wanted to travel but not have a time restriction. We have our car through our Bulgarian corporation so we can have a car without being a resident anywhere. We currently do not have a foreign residency, we leave before our time runs out as we travel. We do intend to do more time in Montenegro in the future and may do corporate residency there possibly late 2024 or 2025

Your medical insurance is expensive actually. Another expat who took out the premium on herself pays $1,000 per year. My cousin pays a little over $600 per year..

Thanks for these videos and I hope you are feeling better. I have a few questions and I apologize if you have already addressed these things in previous videos that I may have missed: (1) Have you been able to pick up any of the local language, or are you trying to? (2) What foods do you enjoy there? (3) Do you get lonely or feel like you miss being a part of a community that you left in the United States? (4) I take a DEA-controlled prescription medication (Lisdexamfetamine, aka Vyvanse) which just came off patent, but is still not widely available and apparently is not available in several countries including Mexico. Here in the US, I need to see my primary doctor every 3 months to get my prescription renewed and I get 3 30-day prescriptions that I have to go to a pharmacy once a month to fill. Are you aware of any way to get my meds as an overseas nomad, other than returning to the US once a month? Thanks very much, I just found your site recently and began subscribing.
@WarrenJulieTravel
@WarrenJulieTravel 8 месяцев назад
We always try to pick up a little bit of the language. Eventually, we hope to at least speak a few sentences. That's a good question about the medication. Do you happen to know if any EU countries have those medications? If they do, it seems the easiest route would be to see a physician in the respective country and get it there. Perhaps a generic form might be available? We love grilled calamari in Montenegro. That's probably the one dish we love the most there.
@WarrenJulieTravel
@WarrenJulieTravel 8 месяцев назад
As far as getting lonely, I would say on rare occasion we miss things back home in the US, especially Christmas, but overall we love our travel and have made wonderful friends throughout Europe and Ecuador.

@@WarrenJulieTravel Oh no, I am so sorry to hear that, after all that hard work of collecting your documents and application process and not to mention your family connections. Maybe they will revert back to what they had before sometime in the future. I know for me, I went through the same process for my ancentors country, it is A LOT of work and expense.

We’re contemplating if 1600-1800 euros is going to be enough for the 4 of us (2 teenage children). We won’t need to pay rent so looking at your videos, it appears we should be fine.

Excellent video. Very informative. Cindy and I are going to Estonia on Jan 30th for my Digital Nomad Visa application interview on Feb 1st. IF it doesn't work out, we are thinking of going to Montenegro, a non-Schengen country. We can afford $1,000 or less. Some AIR BnB apts look nice. Do you have any advice? Thank you both! Dean & Cindy

Can you comments on the requirements and logistics to bring a small dog as a tourist? Say coming from the US vs coming from Italy.
@WarrenJulieTravel
@WarrenJulieTravel 6 месяцев назад
We have not personally had this experience. We imported our dogs into Serbia. It was extremely simple. I have read Montenegro is simple too. If you have time, i recommend getting the rabies titer test done. You do need to have the dog microchipped and you need an International health certificate. Best of luck with this.

It sounds like you don't have a mortgage on your new home, but I didn't hear you mention if you pay property taxes, homeowner's insurance, or if you pay monthly HOA dues. Were those included in your essentials?
@WarrenJulieTravel
@WarrenJulieTravel 8 месяцев назад
No mortgage, we paid about €400 for insurance for the year and property tax is approximately €500 so about 75 euro monthly if rated through the year. There is no HOA for the location. There are six unit’s total.
