Hey Rhiannon - many thanks again for another great playthrough. I've had this one on my shelf of shameful opportunity almost since it came out; your video gave me the motivation to try it out this weekend. I agree with @bwdiederich that a campaign sounds like a really great idea! Maybe Jamey will watch and give us an expansion. :-) With regard to your review at the end, I really value that you give us an independent voice about games, it's something I really look forward to. Last, and maybe least, I'm truly terrible at Solar Storm on BGA, ha!

I was able to play it a couple of times over the weekend. I guess at the moment I’d give it a 6 on BGG, pending some more plays. I’d agree that it’s themeless insomuch as it could’ve been any theme in the world, and calling it a sequel to Scythe is a little suspect. Anyway, I played Shipwrights Redux as well and I liked it a lot more.

Great playthrough! I've been trying to figure out if I'd enjoy this one enough buy it, since Scythe seems cool but it's SO big and so much setup for what would likely be solo most of the time. It seems really fun to play, and the mix of longer term plans and tactical decisions is appealing, but I do wish like you said, that the theme was more forefront. The art is so cool and weird and it's too bad it feels kind of a sideline most of the time in the actual game. A campaign would be so cool!

Thank you for watching! 🤩 Yes in terms of setup Expeditions really is a bit of a breeze despite the size of the box. I can't remember how much effort Scythe was but this one has a lot less component wise. Yes I think if Expeditions managed to bring that theme into the game or weave some story in this wouldn't be leaving my table for a long while! It just needed that little extra something... I did definitely enjoy what it was doing though, some satisfying combos to be found!
