I've got a 2022 MT-09 SP...I've put ~ 110 miles on it so far. It's finally (I hope) stopped raining this year so I can ride it a bunch more. It's my first bike so I'm taking it slow. I got it because of all the electronics - Front wheel lift control, Traction control, Slide control, ABS, Cruise control, KYB and Öhlins Suspension. It's not a mid-life crisis, because I'm 65 years old! I did get a pair of ASV levers (blue and gold) to go with it.

Just bought a '23. First thing I did was get my suspension setup. I test rode the 890 Duke R and felt it was too aggressive for me in terms of ergos. for the money the SP is hard to beat. I didnt like the new Ducati "Monster". Non adjustable front forks is a no go for me. 890 Duke is amazing but I felt like it was a street legal track bike. Not really something I could ride all day long and kinda cruise around on. Just got my full akra exhaust , dna stage 2 , and ecu reflash for the MT. SW Motech Blaze Pro bags and a windscreen turn it into a mini tracer I suppose. I love it. After owning a 2nd gen and re doing the suspension , still wasnt satisfied with how it felt. The 3rd gen is a completely new bike. new frame , geometry , engine internals , etc. I was amazed how good it felt. And that quickshifter works great. Yamaha knocked it out of the park. I'm really glad you made a video, I got super excited when I saw it. Thank you for all of your content, I have learned so much.

I ride 2021 SP, amazing bike! So light, acceleration is amazing - can compete with 1000cc for the first 100-200 meters, it eats curves! Only thing I don't like is that it's too comfortable for the track/riding twisties. Electronics are great, interfering only when you need them. Got a Puig touring windscreen installed on my 2020 MT09 SP - it clearly adds to high-speed stability (in combination with tight racing leathers and an aerodynamic helmet like the AGV Pista RR). Overall, the bike has also become more "touring-friendly" and it is easy to maintain higher cruising speeds on the German Autobahn (on the way into the mountains).

The MT10 is fun as hell and sounds incredible with a full system but man it's a gas pig. The CP3 motor in the MT09/XSR900 is incredible as well and still pulls like a literbike down low from 0-100mph. You'll just struggle anywhere past 120mph because naked bikes aren't aerodynamic. ECU flash will really open them up too. Also it tends to be cheaper to insure than a literbike.

Have ridden the MT10 2022 several tines - amazing combo of a very potent CP4 engine with a sweet matching transmission etc. I also would recommend it rather to a taller rider. The std model is all but impossible to find. The SP is virtually non existent to 99% of shoppers. You can’t just “get one”, they’re not just sitting at dealers. The SP suspension isn’t life changing over the std model. Std model is fully adjustable also. The main feature which makes the SP worth it is cruise control.

Right? If you find one, buy it. Saw one local and it was gone the next day.

Anyone interested in buying a new or used motorcycle I recommend to check out Wheels in Motion in Chatsworth. Bought a new bike last month (JC Gibbs was the salesman) and was highly impressed with their inventory, prices, and friendly attitudes. Loving my Kawasaki ZX-14R.
