I hope that braindead fool of a POW got nightmares for the rest of his worthless life. I have rarely seen a person with more soul-less eyes. He gives me the feeling of a 'blank mind' person. There are absolutely no functioning braincells in this guy. That blank stare and a lack of capability of answering beyong 'da' and 'njet''. I do not believe this guy have the ability to comprehend what he has done. He is a effing moron. Exchange him with Russia ASAP, so they can put him in a Russian gulag for being a 'traitor and defector' by being caught. Damn fool. Idiot, even. Dude lucky the Ukrainian didn't fetch an axe or shotgun. I don't think I'd have the calm in me to meet a marauder peacefully like that he and his wife does. I'd go full Norse on him.

@@barbarakauppi9915 Well Barbara, confrontation therapy works in both ways. Usually used to confront the villain with his victims to show him what he inflicted in those he threatened when he had power over them. Even the "hard nutcrackers" will understand at least "something", if not already than later, what they have done to others. As for the victims, they can make a final cut and let "it" go. But, as it is with all conversations, there must be at least be a certain level of understanding and reasoning, otherwise not much will be triggered in their brain they have to "sort out" or correct. And you're a bit right though. Criminal minds, or better said a-social behavior, is difficult to change. Because it is fundamentally part of and engraved in in their "brain structure". I don't think that's the case here and it's also very rare.

I am disappointed almost daily about the lack of concern most Americans feel about this war. Yes, there is a lot going on here in the US as well, with insurrectionists, election defiers, suppression of women's rights, mudslides, etc. I am especially disappointed in how few Facebook "friends" seem to give it any thought. I donate to the Shahed Drone Hunter project on Ukraine's UNITED24 site set up by Professor Timothy Snyder to help protect Ukrainian cities, and I write letters to my government urging them to send more and better defensive and offensive weapons and ammunition. Does he have problems with it now? Will he get back a fourth time? Extremely powerful, very hard to see and brilliant questions. And remarkable villagers, not being the slightest brutal, being so thoughtful about what they had gone through and what they wanted to tell and ask. Had to go through this horror, this person being part of the horror has nothing to say and very little expressions that can tell. We all have to live without understanding. Perhaps this is why fascism is always so unthinkable. So hard to prepare for. It is unvelievable! Thanks for doing this Dimitri - it gives a lesson to the world.

This interview with the older ex russian soldier reveals also a serious war crime: they used the village as human shield... Mentioned also by the first pair; talking about panzers standing on the asphalt outside and shooting. Rossyjians living in warm houses in cold spring may be forgiven; its the usual.. Every army in all times had done so. But they had also mortars in the field immediately outside the village, shooting at ukrainian positions... When they could without any visible trouble, make mortar positions 300 meters further on into the fields... Look. Amnesty international made a fool of themselves accusing ukrainians they took defensive positions in their cities, thus risking civilians. This is b-s; ukrainians have of course every right to defend their own cities... But these occupiers have no right to use villages and villageers as human shields. Especielly when they as easily could make traditional trenches further out in the field and shoot from there... So it was not just looting, this warfare from the village was a grave crime... Although it seems they didnt no rape nor other violence... Always something.

Whatever happens in this guy's life, the memory of this will haunt him forever, he'll never be able to escape it... any of his family watching will also have to live with this mirror held in front of them. Their culture is being buried a bit more every day, and they're too busy in foreign lands dying whilst murdering innocent people so a handful of KremlinKriminals and their children can stay rich, entitled and powerful. Thank you, this was very good for the victims to participate in as well. I love Ukrainians more each day.

When was this filmed? I swear I have seen clips from it before, several weeks (month or so?) ago. Just curious, I really appreciate to see the whole thing, not just the meeting with the older folks that really told him off.

He´ll go a fourth time but brilliant idea to let him go back alone and unarmed, even protected by the very same people he came to kill and torture. Slava Ukraini!

The boy was careful with his comments and very reluctant to show emotions. I am still positively impressed that he had the courage to see the people from the village. I would give him some credit for that. I have seen many other interviews with Volodymyr and Dimitrii (most in original), and believe me, this POW is much more conscious and thinking than most others. I hope he will learn from this experience. PS: do not make judgements (both good and bad) based on single words of the translation. It is good but not perfect. Actually no translation can be perfect ....

It's interesting how when faced with reality his tough guy facade crumbled bit by bit. Maybe that kid is gonna grow a conscience one day. One can hope anyways. But yeah, I really loved when the ex-military grandfather was on camera. He had a lot of really detailed stuff to say, and it really brings a whole new dimension to all this. Great content, even if the translation is a bit hard to understand sometimes!

They are never guilty of anything. It was always someone else but never them. But what this young man does not want to understand is that even if he never stole and thing or shot anyone or raped or any other thing, he is guilty by association. He is an invader, an occupier, a killer, rapist, a dangerous and hateful person. He is a sheep and if he is lucky he will have the rest of his life to carry the burden of his weakness.

I don't think the prisoner is sorry for anything. A typical narcissist. Just telling you what you want to hear to get these visits over with.
