She is now in Ukraine with her two daughters and will never return to Russia, having managed to get out of Russia after being interviewed by the FSB. She's left everything behind, car home and pets. Him, who is her partner, not her husband by the way, I think he will still want to be exchanged. He is totally brainwashed. They say love is blind. She can do much better than him. I think she's a really brilliant, gutsy lady.

If this man has any sense he will hang on to this extraordinary woman with both hands AND FEET! If he doesn't, I hope she takes care of him, if he is worth her love and loyalty for qualities other than sense; she has plenty. If he's not able to rise to the occasion provided by her heroism, she will have NO trouble finding a home in Ukraine with work fit for her obvious competence :) and people to appreciate and admire her!

While his parents and friends are still back in Russia. His head is so full of unanswered questions and for him to digest all these and to imagine all his patriotism for his country was useless. That he could have died and maybe forgotten ij the foreign lands without his family ever seeing him or his body ever again. All this was for nothing?

Stupid or smart, he has a right to want to go back to the motherland, and her actions more or less foiled that decision for him. She took it upon herself to go to Ukraine; the least she should've done before showing up was find out how he felt. He clearly doesn't want her there; she even has to force the holding of hands. Neither one is wearing a wedding ring, so they are probably not even married. She's treating him like a chump, and it's not hard to tell that she's pushy and controls the relationship.

She gave up her entire life for him and I’m not sure he appreciates that yet! Her video was hacked by the FSB! The state cannot accept the data, it would be an admission of failure, they "Can't handle the truth!" Yeah my thoughts too. I can see that his brain is on "spin cycle", this a lot of "s" to process. Everyone seems to put this woman on a pedestal but I can't help but get bad vibes from her. She makes jokes and silly little comments about his personality, dude wants to go crawl up in a ball and hide. This is cringe-worthy. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that she left everything behind but this interview went on far too long. When they called the mother again I called it quits. I see many comments (hell, every one) in her support. (I had to stop myself, folks will not like my opinion of her). After seeing her first video the other day I believe (and still do) that she can help this channel very much....she has the "bull dog" tenacity to get things done. Yes there probably was shock but its more than that. I cant tell if its fear, anger or something else. Most Russian brains are not wired right and they dont think like humans. This is heartbreaking seeing his reaction, he seemed completely broken once he saw his wife. He doesn't seem to realise what a wonderful woman he's married to. There's no thinking about where she will live; will she live in detention with her "POW boyfriend?" Who will assume long-term financial responsibility for her and her kids? Where will she work? They can't force her boyfriend, "who made it clear that he wanted to go back home," to marry her and stay in Ukraine. Her sweet words didn't help the situation one bit. If she unselfishly really wanted to help, it would've been better for her to stay home, recruit a few thousand, and hit the streets in protest; that's how change is made. She made a selfish decision, not even putting the safety or well-being of her children into consideration, for a little internet fame and a man who seems to be a chump and a coward. A country at war shouldn't take in refugees. Unless they're sending her to the front to earn her keep, all she brought is an added burden to Ukraine, threefold. Sorry for the long response. 😁

Trenches, three days of rations, they have been there for months. Shot if they retreat, by their own side. Lack of food, clothes, toilets, washing, communication with family, until being a PoW. Don't go back, create a new life with a much better standard of living. Everyone understands her russian, no problem with a taxi (the opposite of what he has been told for years).

Some here think the POW was ashamed. Maybe. But I think he was angry even hostile over what she's done. His thoughts- "What the F have you done??? I just want to go back to Russia to live a quiet life (fishing!), and thanks to you I'd be considered a traitor (which you already are). And you did all this without even asking me!?!" His mother seemed to reflect this attitude- "I heard you!", followed by stony silence. They seem like a mismatched couple whose marriage wouldn't survive even without the stress of the war. It was unclear how much he cares about his kids.

This folks are deeply shocked by things that happend around them and the life treating moments when this peoples menthaly finished their life. You have to take people in this condition by the hand like kids. We recovered a lot of peoples in this condition from carbage shelled villages , imposible to move , speaking , wounded and almost starved to death .... and some of them lost their mind and coun`t remember his names or where they came from.

I highly doubt it works that way in russia. They made new laws there, that turn all critique of the russian army into "discrediting the army" to be punished with prison ... Konstantin from the "inside russia" RU-vid channel talked a lot about this topic, unfortunately I don't remember in which of his streams but it's in English.

Sometimes when you are on the verge of a mental breakdown, the only way to cope with something emotional, good or bad, is to shut down, because if you open the gates to either feeling all control will go and you will probably just wail like an injured animal, it would probably do him good to let it out, but in private, not infront of other inmates and especially not on camera. There are, and will be more, on both sides of this awful war that will suffer life changing mental health issues that are harder to treat than wounds. I hope they were given sometime alone. I would like to see her co-interview sometimes!

This was depressing to see. When he talked with his mother, they both wanted to see each other. He wanted to go home to her. But the girlfriend? He doesn't talk of wanting to be with her. He looks like he wished she wasn't there. Maybe it makes him feel shame or fear of the future and he needs time to figure out what it means. But he was talking of Crimea being Ukraine and not wanting to be in this war so I don't think he's angry that she is against the war. The mother looked like she hates the girlfriend. I wonder how their relationship was before all of this. I just get the impression that he wants his mum more than his girlfriend. I hope I'm wrong.

Bravo, what an interesting video. A different one in many ways. I am looking forward to the following video. I wish the POW would pull himself together and realize, how lucky he is. Being shocked and not even hugging his girlfriend shows total lack of feelings. Being a POW, in prison ( in this case well looked after, getting food and medical help ) there is no need to get depressed. He might be depressed thinking he will go back home one day and will be sent back to the front lines immediately. Only an ignorant idiot could believe he would be free to continue his old life back at home.- If he, nevertheless, will be returned to Russia, I hope the girlfriend will stay in Ukraine, make herself a better life there, and accept the fact she probably made a mistake. If he does not show any feelings of gratitude and understanding, it is not worth going to prison for the immense work she did in order to be together with him. Let us hope to enjoy a proper conversation in the near future with the POW, Ira and Dima.

This didn't go as well as it could have. The prisoner should have been warned. It wasn't fair to his wife to shock him because he was already an emotional mess. I don't foresee this relationship surviving the war. It's not Dima's fault but I hope Dima will not do something like this again. If the opportunity comes up, the POW should be prepared with a counselor first. Other than that, I have nothing but love for Dima and continuing support from Texas.

This is the first he’s heard of exchanged soldiers being thrown back in the fight. Irina understands that she’s light years ahead of him information and truth-wise. I don’t know if he will wake up or not but regardless I think she went into this knowing not everyone (not even him) would be along for the ride. He and his mother are invested in the same-old, same-old. They are saying to themselves “What the hell has she done?” They probably won’t be open to the teuth.

Dude is pissed. Body language says it. Hes seething that she did this. His life as he knew it is over. He's contemplating what's next and that he's not in control when it comes to his family now. Girl has a mind and used it and I think that's what scares him the most. But she made the smart move she has freedom for her and his kids......him to be seen but she will pay in some way for this.

I'm thinking the same. First of all, to have your wife come to your POW camp... embarrassing. On top of that, her decision means he can never go back to Russia - now he's stuck. Even if he hates the government, it was still his home. Then she starts giving disparaging remarks about Russian government on camera further cementing the fact he'll never go back.

The first time I saw this video I couldn't stop watching his hands clenched so tight, the fingers held inward. So terribly tense. This time again, it's his hands that speak to me. And he has lost a lot of weight. He is so gaunt and pale. He has seen things that he cannot unsee.
