You did a video the other month on where to find cheap cards. In saying that, my favourite cards are the $2 casino over stock packs from the mom and pop dollar stores. They feel worn in right from the start. Thanks for the tip! Haha
Chris, just wanted to tell you I LOVE the channel. I first started watching your puzzle videos and never thought I would be watching magic and card reviews! Thanks for the great content!
I've been practicing magic for a little while, I'm not expert by any means but your channel is hands down the best. Plus it's super entertaining, plus I've been learning all my flourishes and card controls have become so much more natural and slight thanks for the help!!! I've been binging every episode learning all I can to improve. Also thanks for some of the best card controls (in my opinion) in the business
Coolest channel I’ve ever stumbled upon. Binge watching seriously every video. The quality is amazing and every video is so interesting. Love it and happy I subscribed
Cellophane is a pet peeve of mine as well and those had cellophane inside of cellophane! I love how you couldn't give a scheisse about the "rarity" or "value" of the decks. I mean, why but them if just to sit on a shelf or in a box? I couldn't agree more about the skull and bones disco ball cards. Just goes to show, people will buy any thing for any price if it's hyped enough and "limited" enough. Thank for another great video.
Nicholas Dolan it means something that drives you crazy. It's usually something small and insignificant to most people but it drives you crazy to deal with it.
I agree, the skull and bones deck was kinda garbage from a "standing still" look but... the shimmer during the cardistry was a neat visual on camera. I wouldn't buy them for what little cardistry I can do but if I got better, who knows? But I wouldn't perform even my beginner (cause that's all I know) magic tricks with them. Such a shame too, because I loved the red and silver motif.
I really love the NOC V3 , in fact, the first deck I bought in a magic shop were some purple NOC V3, along some blue aviators I love your videos man, I've progressed a lot with your tutorials, thanks for everything !! Greetings from Perú!!! Ps. You should do a latinamerica tour 👀
Hey Chris. I've always enjoyed being an spectator of magic card tricks and I'm glad I found your channel. Loving it. Keep up the great work and fun atmosphere, you got a new fan.
That lens DOES make a difference, I like it. About the cards, I love some EPCC decks, in fact the Superior standard and the Superior silver arrows are my favorite decks. Their classic finish is amazing and it's pretty close to the aircushion, but it lasts a lot more and also the printing and alignment of the cards is absolutely perfect, unlike some USPCC which have a lot of problems regarding that area. The thing that I don't like though, is the design of the jokers and the zen Ace of spades, which are the same in pretty much every single EPCC deck. It seems that that exquisite bolder comes in their robusto stock, which is like a bee stock, but even thicker.
10:42 The text written on the deck is from a song called "Through the valley - Shawn James" beautiful song! I found it cool that they used that on the deck!
My hopes were shattered when you opened the Skull and Bones deck! My favorite deck so far (I'm super new to card magic...or magic in general) is a toss up between MailChimp and the Madison Ramsay Knights.
Chris Ramsay, you are my favorite magician. I love your videos, especially the ones with your clone in a flannel. You inspire me to be a magician, and thank you for helping me know more about cards. (I mainly do card tricks) I just wanted you read this and know theres one more fan out there that loves your videos. I follow you on Insta, and I'm subscribed to you. Thank you for making videos for magicians like me.
AAYYY fun video to watch man. Recently started magic 2 months ago and I just want to say thank you for all your amazing videos and for inspiring me to take up magic.
Hey, Chris. So I used to really be into magic (specifically card tricks), but now I'm focusing more on music. I would have phases of being into magic, but they faded. I found a new passion for cards and that was collecting. I may not love practicing and performing magic as much as I used to, but your videos are always fun to watch whether it comes to magic, the impossible puzzles, or your card collections. The first video I ever watched of yours was a collection video. Moral of the story is that I have been inspired to do the same and I have been a fan since. I have also been wondering what decks you recommend the most when it comes to collecting? Keep up the good work! Best wishes from Chicago, IL.
I felt this way when I got my momento mori cards in the mail. They felt so different from the bicycle cards I’m used to but now they are my favorite cards to perform with. I think you can get used to just about anything with enough time.
That's the best part about McDonald's in Canada you can get hockey cards..not here in the states though...every time I went to Canada for hockey when I was younger I used to love that.
Chris! You mentioned Magic the Gathering, so I was wondering if you have any cool ways to shuffle a sleeved deck, if you know what I mean. Love your puzzle videos and card flourish tutorials!
Thx Chris Always inspiring! I think my favourite decks are Madison for Erdnase and Cherry casino black but is also true that there are many decks I never had in my hands ...
i dig those skull and bones cards so hard. the holographic details are super cool to me, love it. all three of these decks have sweet designs to me though. thanks for tge video!
Hey Chris, Do you know of any cardistry moves that can seamlessly flow back into itself to create a "infinite packets" kind of illusion? If so, could you teach it? I'm having a hard time finding something. Great vid, much love!
That looks rad, but it still has an "end" sort of speak... I was kind of looking for something that could be seemingly infinite; Like where you would normally close up the packet, it is also back into its initial state where it could be performed again on a loop (that looks good).
Looper is pretty cool, but it doesn't have the effect of infinite packets (It's still very obviously the one packet rolling around). I'll still be adding it to my "to learn" list for sure.
What you had to go through there with the wrapping is what I went through and more with the knights when I bought them.. and you praised those.. lol the tab would not tear around.. I had to pick at it and get a knife under the folds.. it was soooooo bad.. loved the cards tho
Hey Ramsay! Could you do a small bit on card vernacular for noobs like myself here? Like what do you mean by clump? What are soft vs cardstock better for? Aside from esthetic and preferences, are there specs that really affect certain tricks or skills.. maybe a little visual montage of the main moves and how they compare close-up with différents decks/textures/types of cards.. I know there are probably loads of videos on RU-vid with those kinds of basics but I love your style/voice/editing/shots/music etc.. and l would definitely enjoy that
I will say Expert Playing Cards, have some nice ass cases, the side open looks clean and that half open is something I expect from like a phone, really cool looking. Out of the three shown I really liked the chosen set if buy them myself if I could find the damn things
i wish that i could have ones, couldn't i byaway, those playing card is amazing.they're so beautiful,so illusion.i have been had a playing card with the named :"bicycle rider back"and it's use very good .i have used it for 3 months and no sight old.wonderful
I can't wait to be as smooth and fast at stealing a card out of the deck like you did with the queen toward the end! I love your vids and I could watch you play with cards all day, but damn it's demotivating to think of how many more 1000's of hours I need to put in just to be almost that good LOL
Speaking of cool cards. Lets get some love on those Leons that Chris Mayhew has going on kickstarter. Its running down and needs some love to fund. Nice classy remake of the Dr Leons. Shameless plug, i hope they fund.
Hey, Chris I know that you may have just been doing random stuff at 6:45, but could you teach some stuff that we can do while the cards are still in the deck box? Flourish or magic, your choice.
Thanks for the quick reviews, bought the Exquisite Bolder last week because I just love the originals (which I don't have). A little disappointed that they aren't hot stamped like the originals, but still looks quite nice :)
... Cards interest me. Ive been watching your videos for a few months now. At first I stumbled onto them(as you do on RU-vid lol)... I went from watching fly fishing videos, to card videos lol. Buuuut cardistry interests me... Any idea of how I should start? What book(if any) you or someone would recommend? Thanks!
Hey man, if you could also look at some cards from Legends Playing Card Company too. It'd be great to see your opinion on them, because I personally love them.
My favorite deck is Memento Mori by Chris Ramsay at the moment, but I'm getting a ton of cards from Ellusionist soon so who knows if the king will be dethroned.
