Online Japanese Carpentry Course through Real Construction⇒www.kickstarter.com/projects/1911438091/online-japanese-carpentry-course-through-real-construction We are building a Japanese carpentry school in France. We will document this entire process with drawings, photos and videos, and make it an online course so that everyone can learn about Japanese carpentry in English through this real construction project. We will use traditional Japanese techniques and construction methods, and use local materials such as wood, stone, and soil to build the most sustainable buildings possible. We hope you enjoy our carpentry learning materials. Let’s enjoy woodworking together!

Hi there! I adore Japanese joinery. I have watched all your videos and today, I was thrilled to hear you speaking English (even so, I am not a native English speaker) I have learned a lot from your work videos posted in here. Thank you!

How widely are shakkanhō used these days?
@suikoushya
@suikoushya 4 года назад
I do not know how much is used. The materials to be submitted to the country must be done in mm, so it is always possible to confirm with the materials. Many carpenters may actually be using shakkanho. I am 70% shakkanho 30% mm.

@@suikoushya if i may suggest / ask for something: here in Germany/europe japanese saws are kind of legendary and everybody has his view on how one should use a ryoba oder dozuki ... I would really love to have a japanese explain it to me / us here in europe. How to hold it, how to start sawing and so on. Best Regards and arigato

I'm very dissatisfied with the Shinwa squares (the flexible ones) sold in Europe. Mine came not only not square, both arms war arched! Is there another manufacturer easily obtainable in Europe?

Konichiwa do you find that the sashigane is not square and needs correcting ? Arigato for your time to teach Andy

It is very difficult to fix, so if possible you can buy a new one. Always check the angle when buying a new one.

Hi Andy - are you in the UK & If so where do you buy your Sashigane from please?

ROBERT POMFRET hello I live in Salisbury. I only use Japanese tools. Sashigane can be bought from fine tools .com in Germany online. Not sure they will let you choose your zodiac. Always check it for square. Once you get used to holding it and moving it around you won’t go back to anything else.
