The Triangle is the metro area that makes up Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill (NC State, Duke, UNC are “triangle” universities for that reason. In the middle of the triangle is RTP, Research Triangle Park which is the epicenter of technology on the east coast (often referred to as the Silicon Valley of the East) so it’s a commonly used term for the area, not just locally. He was just saying how much he liked his time living in the area.

As a Sharks fan, let me tell you why I highly doubt that the Sharks are in any way considering going for Draisaitl: they literally JUST blew up the core and fully committed to a full rebuild, and are still facing a couple more years of paying out the end of stupidly large contracts (thanks to Doug Wilson for handing out 8x8s like candy). This would be the dumbest possible time to take on another stupidly large contract, which is what we would have to offer Draisaitl to bring him in, especially since it's probably going to be another five years until the Sharks are back to being real Cup contenders. This is the time for them to nurture new talent, not to pay out the nose for one big-name star who, talented as he is, cannot carry an entire team to success.

Assuming the blackhawks/islanders trade is exclusively for the draft and not for a trade (lets be honest its almost definitely a trade), It could be that the Blackhawks plan on taking Levshunov, a defenseman, with the 2nd overall pick, and the 18th to take a winger of a higher tier. Looking at most mock boards, there's a pretty clear gap between the top defensemen and the rest, most of which are slated to be gone by pick 12, while there is considered to be a pretty solid group of forwards in the middle of the first round. Connelly, Brandsegg-Nygard, Sennecke, Hage, Boisvert, Greentree, there might even be a chance someone like Eiserman or Catton really falls (although unlikely). In terms of defenseman, after the Dickinson, Parekh, Buium tier, the next projected defensemen are guys like Jiricek and Kiviharju which seem to be pretty widely considered a tier down even from those forwards. Could be Chicago just trying to get a better chance at drafting a quality forward with the defenseman they take at 2nd. given the timing of it, i suspect its far more likely to be for a trade. I know the canadiens are looking to move up from 26th but idk what else they could include to do that. I know some teams higher like the Devils Sabres and Kraken are open to moving down for a piece that helps them now, so maybe they're looking at shortening how far those teams would have to move down and trying to acquire those (although they have next to no quality roster players so idk how they would manage that)

Regarding the Hawks desire to move up two spots I speculate that the Hawks may have received Intel that the Golden Knights, owners of the 19th pick where going to take their desired pick?

TBH I would love for a HC to hear guys like Messier and Gretzky are saying "Put this guy in" and just go "Shut up both of u. U played in an era where goalies weren't allowed to leave their feet. Plus Messier u've never been a coach and Grets we all know how that went." Like please just ROAST two of the greatest hockey players.
