Ill never fucking forget the first time i watched your video on how to do a PROPER dumbell row. With half the weight i was normally using my lat literally cramped up near the end of my set. Best stimulation of a targeted muscle ive ever felt.(and also extremely humbling). I knew from that moment on that this channel was where the fuck its at💪💯

I’ve worked at a gym along side many trainers and I’ve had my own personal trainers. I’ve taken weight training classes and have been lifting for about 8years and no BS I’ve learned way more from you. Because of you I’ve changed the way I look and do most of my workouts. Appreciate you big mike

Telling it like it is. Reminds me of Rob Vigeant Jr’s video when tough love is needed to get people on the correct path. Like you he could say nothing, but you’re sharing your knowledge and explaining you reasons. I do curls or hammers with weights attached to the end of a figure of 8 strap (with my hand through the top loop), so the weight is always hanging and so the same throughout the full motion. Doesn’t look as impressive as big dumbbells, but those big dumbbells become easy if you train the hard way. I’m about to subscribe.

It took me 30 years to learn that for me and my body, bodybuilding is not about lifting weights. Bodybuilding is contracting, squeezing and stretching the muscles and or a loaded stretch. Loading the muscles in the lengthened range, the midrange and the short range. Sorry yes I do believe the negative portion of the movement or the eccentric is the most effective portion of the movement.

@Coconut282

Wrong. How would your chest not have tension if you go down slow like that? Muscles have a function and they work regardless of your feelings. To stretch the chest the humerus has to retract, which is exactly what happens when you go down slow. Your feelings don’t matter Mr Wyked. Muscles have a function and they work regardless of your sensation

@@tommygun6559 hmm, mind muscle is definitely important. Consider this, lately I’ve been experimenting with partial rage movements. From adductors to chest, quads, shoulders, just about everything but calves. Im not “going to the top” of any movement and contracting. Since there’s more constant tension on the muscle I feel it way more. I’m using lighter weights to control it as perfectly as I can. I’m getting pretty sore from it. I’d bet I get some new growth out of it. But no I’m not getting that hard contraction you’re talking about. So is it really that important?

I don’t mind using science behind a method of training, but reactivity towards every new “study” that comes out is absolute nonsense. And here’s the thing with this video-science actually supports a relatively short eccentric (2 seconds) for optimal muscle growth. Even RP’s Dr. Mike has admitted the slow eccentrics he has people do in his videos may be excessive. If you’re waiting for science’s conclusions to catch up to what real coaches already know, you’re going to be waiting a long time.
