Brazilian football fan here! there are two main issues with our national team on this championship: first, there are a handful of u20 teams in here and players development starts really late (most of the people I know started between 20 and 25 years old, if not older), and second, the players had to finance themselves, paying for travel, visas, tournament fees, hotel and food. That led to just a roster just under 40 players, which makes things even tougher. Despite the results, we're proud of our boys going all the way to Canada to compete, learn and grow with the experience and I hope that football development in Brazil keeps growing to the point that we can woop some ass soon.
The United States went through the same growing pains with soccer. It takes time, but you'll get there. Thanks for your interest in our national sport.
honestly, it takes beatings like this to get better at the sport. now all those players know what real football is like, and they haven't even played against the USA.
Thanks for the support, guys. I just saw that this was the first game u20 Brazil national team EVER, and the words that the HC said to the players right after the game. It's obviously a hard situation, but they're aware of the evolution process starts this way. BTW, hope you guys enjoy the NFL game in São Paulo in September, we'll show you a bit of our brazilian passion for football.
Props to Brazil for not quitting. They have guts and stuck through it. Wish y'all nothing but the best in growing your team and hope you find success in the future.
That game & score immediately came to mind. Good job, Sir! Possibly fictitious, but read that one of Cumberland College's players was allegedly caught on GT's bench by one of its coaches, who told him to go back to his team. The player replied, "Please let me stay here. If I go back, they might send me back into the game" ROFLMAO
Funny thing is it might even be worse if it were. Holding your opponent to 0 points in a game of basketball will get people asking how old those kids you played were 😂
@@toledoseahawks3348 in canada you do not need to complete your college eligibility. CFL can draft you directly from high school if the team in question wants you. yes typically those drafted are from the pool of collegiate players, however there is not a rule like in the NFL where a play must be 3 years out from high school or whatever the silly term is.
Canada has just as much history in football as the Americans do - the forward pass is argued to have been invented in Canada (albeit no American source credits this). It's also the reason the CFL rules are different from the NFL - they haven't changed as much over time.
I was at the game. American Football is fairly new to Brazil, started off playing on the beaches. Since then the sport has grown, and for the first time Brazil has qualified for the IFAF U20 World Championships. Just to be there the players had to fund the entire thing themselves, airlines, hotel, food, equipment, etc… for them to be here is a huge accomplishment for them. What they learn from this and take back with them will help the sport continue to grow in their country. #1, they need to tackle!!! In 10.5 hrs I will be watching Brazil play again, and hope to see them learn and improve since the last game.
Tbh, i played on the coritiba crocodiles american football school in 2013, and yet the only thing i knew about the league was that they and Corinthians dominated it
But these are the world championships. What country comes in barely qualified into the top 8 for the world championship and gets freshly pancaked into a stack with butter and maple syrup to go?
Holly shit... it's so wrong to see Commonwealth Stadium being used for American Football and not Canadian Football... American Football field looks so small on the stadium that is build specifically for Canadian Football.
@@ToughLife666the 1916 Georgia Tech team would have no trouble beating Brazil's national team. Cumberland, on the other hand would probably lose by 4 touchdowns.
Buddies with someone that played pro American football in Brazil. His explanation was “if you’re not getting to the NFL, would you rather play in Canada, or Brazil?” Apparently they had some guys who were good in college but not NFL caliber guys.
Tbh this happens pretty regularly in rugby. It is still a very fringe sport in many places, so it's not uncommon to see 100+ point wins between countries that play a lot and countries that barely field a team
Hey Isaac, this is a little off topic, but: why don’t you do a story about Pat McInally. A punter - and the only player ever to ace the Wonderlic. And he played wide receiver. For your Bengals no less.
@@MyDoodadnah, our soccer team is significantly better than Brazil’s American football team. We actually pulled off a 1-1 draw against Brazil in a friendly a few weeks ago
@@MyDoodad While football is the most popular sport in the us, we have a lot of other sports that still have sizeable audiences such as baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer, etc. For almost every other country in the world, soccer is the number one sport, and it's rare to see people playing anything else.
Fake measurements? Metric system is a logical thing that is used almost everywhere except for US unlike Imperial system that has no logic whatsoever and is only used in US. To answer the question 1 foot is 30,48 cm.
I didn't even know this tournament existed until 2 days ago. Out of curiosity, how many countries have professional American-style football leagues besides Canada and the US? Is this like a women's hockey situation where there's basically no developmental leagues outside a few countries so those countries always dominate?
Canada have CANADIAN FOOTBALL league. Not American Football League. That's why the stadium in Edmonton looked so weird. It's used for Canadian Football and the field in Canadian Football is both longer and wider. To answer the question... Japan has a Professional American Football League (X-League), Europe has a Professional American Football League (ELF (European League of Football)), Mexico has a Professional American Football League (LFA (Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional)) that is in a working relationship with CFL (Canadian Football League). There're many other minor pro leagues over the world.
@@teo_heel The CFL also plays 3 downs instead of 4. It's not about if the rules are exactly the same though. I was just curious how many countries have pro leagues where players don't have to divide their time between being good at football and maintaining a living. Thanks for the info as well :)
@@ironyusedincorrectly Yeah... I understand you. But I'm so used to CFL at this point so I want to correct people every time they are talking about Canada playing American Football. Outisde for Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, British Columbia that had an NCAA team in Division 2 until the end of 2022 season I can't remember any other Canadian teams playing American Football. And maybe Simon Fraser will go back to U Sports since they left NCAA.
Canadians playing American Football in Canada on an American sized field in a stadium that is current use is for Canadian football and Canadian sized football fields? 🤯
We need to invest so kids can start playing younger. Then they can see a kid playing in the NFL from their country, adding empowerment to their journey
Guys, stop mentioning college games. It's not the same as international games. This is the biggest blowout in the international game. And yeah, 12 minute quarters as well.
I didn't realize international smerican football was a thing. Didnt even know it was played outside NA. Thought it was all rugby out there. Or aussie rules.
I am sort of amazed Brazil did not seek better advice about offense, they take athletics seriously. Point 1.....fledgling Brazil just ran the wrong attack. Historically Wing T or tight-T or Veer ......Wishbone, these spread ground attack spreads out the defensive front. An ugly offense by todays standards but Canada's defense would have had fits trying to defend such dearth of ball fakes and people pretending to have the ball. The US service academies run this offense for a reason as it evens out talent level. Point 2.......As for the Brazil Defense that is another matter.
I love your videos, but this title is not even close to accurate. Even just looking at college football (I couldn't find stats for international games like this one, high school, etc.), there are dozens and dozens of worse blowouts than 110-0. Here is a Wikipedia list of the college games with scores over 100 - almost all of them were shutouts, and you can sort by top score to see just the ones over 110: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_100-point_games_in_college_football
