This crapshot is just an excuse for Cam to narrate about 40k, and Im all for it.

I'm guessing there's a couple hours of unused footage for this Crapshot... which I would watch with rapt attention.

Anyone else want to see Cori go into a thought spiral about why he would use Necrons that way?

this is one Crapshot where I wish the Crapshoot was still a thing, because seeing this go from concept to finished product would be a TREAT

A buddy once asked me if I could explain the Necrons and the Adeptus Mechanicus to him, as he'd just started playing Mechanicus for PC and he knew I play Necrons in 40K. I began with "To truly understand the Necrontyr, we need to go back roughly 60 million years." and thus began my retelling of the War in Heaven and what Jacob would later describe as the longest two hours of his life. He still sat through the whole thing because he's good friend. 🤣

I love Cam in this. The ending was not what I thought it was going to be.

Can I please get a playmat of Cam under dramatic lighting with that 1000 yard stare?

This is the first time in a long, _long_ while that a Crapshot has made me literally fall out of my chair.

The only way this could have been better is if it had held on cam for a few beats then cut to cory who said "neat" or possibly "hot"

I showed this to a friend of mine who is absurdly deep into 40k lore. Been to conventions, Warhammer World, listened to all the audiobooks. Their response? "This person knows things even I do not know. A powerful individual indeed."

While obviously an extreme example, infodumps about my interests are a love language. While I try my best to gauge relative interest and avoid going too overboard, and try to express them in a way that is both concise and interesting, someone who can’t tolerate at least the occasional one is not someone I can maintain any kind of real relationship with.

I was about to share this to a couple groups before that last line 😂

SKETCH SUGGESTION: The Nerd Wingman, someone who goes to the bar with you and acts as an interpreter to help those awkward transactions, like explaining hobbies and passions.

I feel like this crapshoot spawned from the episode of the Long Game where they had a discussion about how boys will always tell you about 40K😂

The longer it went the more concerned I got about what the alternate explanation would be… and turns out, for good reasons.

Words cannot describe how much I want Cameron to host a Warhammer 40k podcast. I'm subscribed to a few, but none have Cam's panache nor his passionately chill cadence and prosody.

Cam is incredibly good at explaining things. Wish he'd do more video essays. His lecture on facism on the 40K Play It Forward vid for example was superb.

I love how the lighting and camera work shift to clue you in instantly into being inside Cameron's head. I love the different freeze frame expressions Cameron and how the different parts of the diatribe he's slightly further along in the process of making the cup of tea. Finally blurting out that they are for Sex, as that would be far less embarrassing. So well crafted.

Advice to fellow nerds: start off with "They're part of my current hyperfixation." If you don't have to explain what a hyperfixation is, this will be a lasting relationship.

It is a well known ritual of scholars of the war-hammer fourty thousand to courteously exchange lengthy chronicles of their lore knowledge to one another, for later comparison and cataloguing.
