They drop you off directly in front of the cruise ship 😀 Porter’s are there waiting for your luggage and then you walk right up to the security/ticket line. Very convenient and not a lot of walking at all.
Unfortunately none of them technically do- you can risk it and go for it but the only “official” cruise parking is the Cedar Grove parking lot. You can opt for a park and stay hotel like Lamp Light Hotel which is walking distance and you can leave your car there during the cruise. Hope this helps!
Never went out of norfolk trying to decide what hotel Marriott or Sheraton... also is Uber the only form of tranfer from airport to hotel and cruise port back to airport on day return
We’ve personally stayed at the Marriott for a weekend date and loved it. Very clean, recently renovated, and is VERY close to the port. The Sheraton is a couple blocks further away. We haven’t personally stayed at the Sheraton. I would recommend an Uber- the only other options are taxis (which charge a luggage fee per piece of luggage.) Surprisingly no one has started a cruise shuttle in Norfolk yet. If you have any other questions feel free to ask! 😄
Norfolk isn't terrable but like most big cities, we have our fair share of crime. I would avoid the Ceder Grove parking lot at all cost. The city moved the bus station out of there due to how bad of a place Ceder Grove is. The garages in downtown Norfolk are pretty cheap, and most of them have some kind of security. Also, downtown is pretty compact and walkable, so it wouldn't be much of a struggle carrying luggage to the cruise terminal. Walking at a steady pace, you can cross downtown in about 15 minutes. The best option would be to leave your car at home, and have somone drop you off.
