Congratulations on submitting your final thesis Jade! 26000 words is epic! Enjoy your last few weeks of University life. It's been beautiful watching your journey from A-level student to now, through the gap year, the book writing and all the countries and languages! If I was 18 again I would absolutely love to have the Minerva experience and I think you've done such a great job of highlighting the whole journey from application to graduation. In fact, you've probably single-handedly been responsible for inspiring and empowering other young people to opt for Minerva instead of a traditional uni experience. Really looking forward to seeing what comes next, but for now, enjoy your final weeks in Taiwan and some time off to relax and reflect. xx✨🌈💎
hey Jade, thanks for mentioning many important aspects of tackling the climate crisis! just a little comment on carbon offsetting - even though it is quite a nice concept, it's very crucial to not let it distract from cutting the greenhouse gases emissions in the first place. companies and governments often use this to greenwash and project a progressive image of themselves and try to convince people that there's nothing to complain about because they plant trees. also, congrats on the thesis, so much great work! btw, the music choices in this vid: 🫶🫂so heartwarming, same as the whole video
You have inspired me immensely through all the years I’ve followed you! Your content keeps me happy when I feel like crying because of stress and expectations. You’ve showed me that everyone’s path may be different but that there is casual magic in every one of those paths ❤
The ending scenes gave me chills!! I am so proud of you. I have been watching you since last year and it is crazy how much time has flown by! Thank you for teaching us so many things about life that people like me have yet to experience. Keep being you!!!

As i'm in the process of applying to uni right now you're incredible energy is really helping me to ground myself and (try) not to drain all of my energy with the stress of tying all of your being to getting into Oxford. You've inspired me to spend more time in nature and unlock the gratitude that I have for every opportunity I have in my life! :)
Oh my god Jade! You always come back on time to lighten my day. I'm very stressed right now because there are two examinations that i need to overcome. Big love from Vietnam, oh i have seen on your instagram that you tag VUNG who is a famous influencer in Viet Nam. Hope to see your vlog in my home town soon❤❤❤
I was trying to find a study video that could motivate me and came across your channel, after seeing that you're in Taiwan, I immediately subscribed!! So glad to see more and more ppl recognize the beauty of the little island that I was born in :)
Congratulations on nearly graduating 🎉 I’m going back to university in September here in England to study to be a nurse, so hopefully I’ll be able to take study tips you’ve shared to put into place
I really love how your view at climate crisis and activism changed! Been following you for years now and my view also changed in that way, so i really felt what you said
where do you get your eye gems from?? i’m obsessed with yours but whenever i wear mine they fall off 😭 also your birthday being on the same day as the quinquatria is very much giving main character!!
Now I'm nostalgic... I'm so happy for you Jade! I aspire to have the love and passion you have for everything around you and make studying a fun thing.
Wonderfully inspiring video as always! I’m finishing uni this year too and really relate to your feelings❤ one of your earlier videos has inspired me to go to a drawing class today😃
Congrats on submitting your diss Jade! I'm submitting mine this week so I'm also starting to feel all the feels 💛My degree is in outdoor education and I thought you might be interested to know that a popular theory behind the feeling of being drawn to nature is called the Biophilia Hypothesis🌿✨its basically the idea that humans have an inherent inclination toward the natural world. It's thought that seeing plants and greenery has a particularly calming effect (even subconsciously) because in our hunter gatherer days it indicated food, water and shelter and that made us feel safe 🤗 Anyway, this video was super lovely - thanks for making such heart warming content 💛
Wow..my paid internship starts tomorrow, so I feel the nervousness and fresh mind of the new start. At the same time, you're gonna graduate from your long journey in multiple countries..:) You must be feeling different compared to the first semester.. I like the fact that the youtubers that I follow are moving to the next stage of their lives.. It feels like we're growing and progressing to the better..!😇
It's such a joy watching you at such peace and with wonderful energy in nature 🌳⛰💮! My family and I travel our country annually. It is such a liberating feeling in the tranquility of mother nature, listening to streams flowing by, birds chirping, livestock nearby 🎵... I personally am a big fan of long treks and mountains and am extremely fortunate to live in a country with several +8000m peaks of which I have seen many ✨! I'd really love to show you the beauty of my country that lies in its beaches, mountains, pastures, agriculture, rivers and especially people! Thank you for making my day, Jade! (as usual 😉). From PK 💚.
Hey there,Jade, folks! I really love being a part of this family-community of Jade’s channel. Let me tell about myself a bit: I’m a student of the university in Russia, and being a student here means to survive under a constant pressure of other’s disrespect and abolition of the value of individuality: it’s normal, for example, for uni dormitory administration to shout at us, to invade personal space etc. Sometimes it looks like we students are nothing more but a trash. There are good personalities, of course, but they become a rare experience. I just wanna hear out from you guys some words of support and encouragement, maybe. Because sometimes these rude people just cross out every bit of joy in my and my GF’s hearts. Sorry for my English, if there is any mistakes. Thanks even for reading and praying for us here…
I hope you and your girlfriend keep your heads up high and know you are contributing to the group of "good personalities"! Keep fighting for what's right within your own sphere of influence (I'm from the US, so I know what it's like to be in a country that doesn't always reflect my beliefs).
Congrats on submitting your diss - such a great achievement!! Enjoy your last few weeks of uni - they were some of my favourite weeks! Very bittersweet though xx
The New York Times has published a commentary titled "The Most Important Place in the World: Taiwan," which points out that with a population of only 24 million, Taiwan is the center of the global technology hegemony competition, and "in terms of influence, it is the most important place in the world." 🇹🇼🇹🇼🇹🇼
Congrats on submitting your dissertation! My Masters wasn't even that many words, it was 15,000. 😅 I found what you said about the climate crisis interesting. I studied Sustainable Mountain Development and have an interest in sustainable tourism (which is also my specialisation). 😊
Yay new jade video! I’ve been watching your gap year Australia videos over the past week so it’s so nice to see this!! ❤️ my casual magic of the week has been the sunshine everyday and music
wait no wayyy it's so crazy that all these parts of my life are documented on here !! i hope you found value in them 💌 i loveee this casual magic, enjoy the sun
Congratulations on submitting your dissertation. You must be feeling a whole lot lighter these days. And i totally agree with you that the main action of climate change lies in the hands of govts, big companies and corporations because they have been the main reason for it. But i also continue to think that my small choices of eating vegetarian or making a conscious fashion choice would make a small scratch somewhere.
Hey Jade !!! Just want to tell you that you are an incredible person and you inspire me. I am motivated just by watching your videos. My dream is to meet you one day.Lots of love 💗💗and virtual hugs 🫂 🫂🫂
well congratulations! i have a month left of my masters!! as we are both in similar boats, what hobbies dyou plan on impulse taking up after uni?? i am soooooo looking forward to being able to do anything other than masters work and i want to learn sewing and make a tshirt!!!! Aaaaaa :D
Hi jade i loved this video and hope you keep up the good work , i just wanted to ask if you have any plans for graduate study and if you would try apply for oxbridge again?
Another great book about climate solutions is 'Regeneration - Ending the climate crisis in one generation' by Paul Hawkens. It's full of great ideas, perspectives and puts life at the center of all it's stories. I really recommend it :)
Hey Jade, you come across so clever and knowledgeable, it's really inspiring! Have you read This Changes Everything by Naomi Klein and if so, is it similar read/topic to the books you are recommending here? x
For me, carbon offesetting annoys me because alot of companies use it as an excuse not to do anything and it means that they can label things as "carbon neutral" despite the fact that the product isn't and they just planted some trees and pretended that their product has no bad effects etc. While it's great if it is a middle ground and the companies are actually working towards becoming better, alot of shitty big coorperations just use it to say " oh theres nothing wrong with our product it's perfect!". Obvously isnt 100% true accross the board but the whole carbon offset thing pisses me off alot (clearly lol)
Climate crisis is a very important topic, thanks for touching on that. But the message you're sending can be dangerous, because carbon offsetting doesn't prevent carbon dioxyde from being emitted. The fact that people/companies pay to compensate their emissions doesn't take back their emissions (and most of the time, the projects funded by these offsets are NOT applied the way we think + sometimes are doing even more damage [monoculture of trees being very bad for the soil, biodiversity, and is prone to wild fires, etc]). And considering how urgent the crisis is, we need to fondamentaly change our ways of living and consuming in order to emit less (at all scales: industrial, political, individual), not to pay to get rid of the guilt easily... sorry if my comment is a bit violent, the goal is to share that, NO, carbon offsetting and the carbon market are NOT viable solutions, but only short term "fake" and easy ways out. On a more positive note, thank you for your video and thank you for the good vibes you always share with us, keep shining Jade
Sorry I usually love your videos, but I have to say that I find it quite hypocrite of you to talk about climate change in that way. Over the last years, you've moved abroad and travelled by plane multiple times, which means you have a massive carbon footprint. Your university system itself is not sustainable, so maybe you could have reflected on that instead of giving lessons...
While it's a great point that we should all be flying less, I've learned over the years that focusing on people's individual actions is a distraction. The idea of individuals' carbon footprints was popularised by BP (an oil company) to shift climate blame and guilt away from themselves as the biggest polluter. I'm definitely aware of my climate impact the last 4 years and will not be living like this any time soon, but I think we should be directing our energy to changing and fighting systems of oppression over policing individuals
