Outlaws of Thunder Junction is here and a whole host of new cards for Explorer, not just from the main set but from the bonus sheets as well. Today we're playing a deck using one of each: Boros Wizards running the new Slickshot Show-Off and the reprinted Skullcrack. It's basically Boros Burn but with a slight Wizard bent so a nice simple aggro strategy to start us off in the format.

Is the white in the landbase basically just for Get Lost? As splashing with shocks and pains for lightning helix seems odd

It's a mana base very much with also being able to play Boros Charm in mind, yes. Lightning Helix is still generally life positive but you could swap it out for Lightning Strike and make a Mono Red version.

You really want to play those sideboard cards to not run Jeganta?! Eidilon seems outright bad in pioneer. The decks it would target the most are filled to the brim with cheap answers, like phoenix. You had a better time dealing with them with an Unlisecned Hearse or 2 lol. Maybe we dont need the companion with the mandlands and the desert to "mana sink", tho your sideboard seems weird. Why are you even boros, 1 sideboard slot and Lightning helix seems like a weak reason to not go simply mono red. I mean if we kept it as boros stuff like skalds would be an argument, but like right now it looks unnecceary. Tears of Valakut is now often seen to counter vein ripper (and it is decent vs some other decks, particular phoenix), "just pray" he doesnt have it seems unwise. PS: Some neat trick--> Monsterous Rage is a very powerful card with those creatures. This isnt to turn it into boros heroic, but as a 1 off it is insanely potent to have. The games your opponent sees it, he will have to mentally play around it in later games.

I mean the fact that opponents can kill the creatures you play is an argument for never playing anything. You'll see if you watched the video that Eidolon successfully shredded opponents in a couple of the games. Having said that, this is early in the new set and there's plenty of room for decks to change and improve.

@@nickmtgexplorerarena This isnt meant as "dies to removal", but the deck you want it the most has an ABOUNCDE of removal. It isnt a statement about it being able to be killed but the likelyhood of that happening and therefore how effective it even is as a sideboard card. I rather have an Unlicensed Hearse in my sideboard. And this isnt ground breaking new deck. It is burn/RDW with an upgrade, so the question why you seemingly go boros for no good reason is pretty valid. Vein Ripper isnt particular new either, so your sideboard setup also is fair game to question. You answered nothing but "removal isnt an argument", while that wasnt even the argument presented.
